Israel is under attack

With ANY Wikipedia page, ensure you carefully look at the page history.

I have personal experience of adding to a page and after a high-profile event, the Wikipedia page utterly changed but importantly, the information I had added wasn't even in 'previous versions'.

Evidently it is open to manipulation. I'm not saying this is the case here, but reading a few versions can often see massive changes.

that article is amateur hour. so the left (in general) heavily criticizes ppl in general for platforming pieces of shit like ted cruz and calls out bigotry... hardly a religious thing.

and does this mean the right is religious for anti- bds laws? literally forcing teachers to sign a paper that says they don't boycott israel and firing or refusing to hire them if they refuse to sign?

Take your pick:

There are plenty of other sources as well. Israel regularly massacres Palestinians

And its crazy that people in this thread seem to think the blockade is something new 😂😂😂

What has been really irking me is how people accuse ME of being brainwashed for admitting these things.

It's well worth investigating the Amnesty International records regarding Israel, Palestine, Fatah, Hamas and Hezbollah. It covers everything from 1990 onwards.

There has been a polarization on both sides.

As always, ensure you interrogate media outlets in as many nations as you can to ensure the veracity of any statement.

To those critical of Israel- I'm curious what you think Israel should do in response to the Hamas attack? And what should they in regards to the question of Palestine in general?

I don't feel like we're getting far yelling at each other, so I'm sincerely asking in good faith. Please respond in kind 🙏

Tbc, these are not rhetorical questions.

I think they shouldn't have laws enforcing ethnic cleansing? I mean that seems pretty basic. How about not trying to have a religious ethnostate

I believe the one state solution is the only solution that will work

As Swilow said, "open air prison" is a meme/talking point.
Ah yes, the prison where the prisoners can stage a massive raid to kill and kidnap people and launch rockets at cities.

Those prisons are super common around here, if the bikers don't get enough beer and gay porn they launch a missile at the wardens house to give him the message.

Ah yes food and potable water are definitely equal to beer and porn. Only the most brilliant comparison when can we crown you king?

Shame on those silly Palestinians for not wanting to be pushed out of their homes by a colonial apartheid government. They should just sit back and be ethnically cleansed!

I don't believe Israel have laws enforcing ethnic cleansing. But I agree re: not having a religious ethnostate. And I'm sure you also apply that to Hamas who impose Islamic law on the residents of Gaza. I doubt you would disagree that Islamic law is much more illiberal than the legal framework governing Israel. AFAIK, it's not illegal to be gay in Israel.

But I asked what Israel should have done regarding the Hamas attacks. You've suggested something retroactive. What should Israel do now in response to these massacres?

I believe the one state solution is the only solution that will work
This is you suggesting ethnic cleansing. Both Israel and Palestine should be able to coexist. If you think either group should be evicted from the region, you are supporting genocide. I'm sure you're referring to Israel. I shouldn't have to mention what sort of ideology you are explicitly supporting there.

It's odd that a communist would support that, but then again, communism is one of the most murderous and barbaric ideologies of recent times. So maybe not such a shock.

Ok i should have been clearer. I believe in a socialist state in which everyone in Israel and Palestine would be equal. I don't think either group should have to be evicted.

"Palestinian citizens are blocked from leasing about 80 percent of the land"

"According to the Absentees’ Property Law (1950), Palestinian refugees expelled after November 29, 1947, are “absentees” and are denied any rights. Their land, houses/apartments, and bank accounts (movable and immovable property) were confiscated by the state."

"Since 1967, nearly 15,000 Palestinians from East Jerusalem have had their residency rights revoked, according to the Interior Ministry."

"The Ban on Family Unification – introduced as an emergency regulation in 2003 following the outbreak of the second Intifada in 2000 – prevents family unification when one spouse is an Israeli citizen and the other is a resident of the occupied territories"

"
Palestinians traditionally mark Israel’s official Independence Day as Nakba Day, a day of mourning and commemoration marking the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians in 1948 to make way for the creation of the state of Israel.

The Nakba Law introduced in 2011 allows the finance minister to reduce funding or support to an institution if it holds an activity that commemorates Israel’s Independence Day as a day of mourning"

Okay. Remove the socialist part and I think you're idea is not too bad. But, the fact remains, a significant proportion of both Israelis and Palestinians don't want this. To my mind, a 2 state solution using the borders declared in 1947 would be a suitable compromise.

All of those things are indeed troubling, but doesn't really substantiate your claims of ethnic cleansing. There are legitimate Arab-Israeli political parties in Israel. That's somewhat suggestive.

The Nakba was a terrible, regrettable, inhumane thing, but we just need to be pragmatic. There is just no possibility that Israel will relinquish their claims to the territory they hold. There's going to be no walking back the existence of Israel. Even Fatah now recognise a 2 state solution.

The situation for Gaza could be so much better if they got out from under the bootheels of Hamas who are ideologically incapable of compromise. Until they do, Hamas will continue to put innocent citizens at risk.

Tbc, I don't see the nightmarish existence of Palestinians as only a result of Israeli policies, but overwhelmingly the result of the extremist barbarians who comprise their most powerful political and military force. Again, I ask you, how should Israel have responded? Not what should they have not done 80 years ago- what should they do now about a fanatical group of savages who attacked, and murdered/raped/burned innocent people?
