Welcome What are you listening to today? v. verum invenire

Amongst the 7/80s sax solos, this & 'Baker St.' are sublime.

On a theme was just listening to this.😁

Damn if you didn't go old school! Didn't Run DMC make it into the rock and roll hall of fame a while back?

As far as that sweet saxophone sound, I completely agree with you. Raphael Ravenscroft played sax on Baker Street, As far as I'm concerned his delivery is the reason the song is timeless. Chris White ain't no slouch on Latest Trick. He's played with the likes of Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger so he must know a little something.

But my favorite horn player has got to be Clarence Clemons, especially during his time with Bruce Springsteen. Clarence could make that sax talk!

The other side of Clarence. When Bruce Springsteen just put his shit down and turned the stage over to Clarence Clemons for his Jungle Land solo...

That's when you know you have reached the pinnacle!

Randy California (Wolfe) was just15 years old when he moved with his family in 1966 to New York City. The kid had talent. He was playing with Jimi Hendrix on nights and weekends while he was still in high school. In 1967 Randy and his stepfather, Ed Cassidy, started the band Spirit. Randy would turn 18 while recording the highly regarded Twelve Dreams of Doctor Sardonicus album.

Randy died in 1997 while saving his 12 year old son from drowning...

This song is only one accordion away from being zydeco...

Speaking of zydeco. These rednecks (my people!) have an accordion AND a fiddle. And they damn sure know how to use them...
