Why do Americans say shit about ww2 like "you'd be speaking German if it wasn't for us"?

If anything, I would not be as tolerant of the Scots as English are. You would become an imperialist if you were stuck wtih Scots as neighbors. Magna Carta, Stone Henge are strictly British inventions. Probably 700 of the first 1,000 or so factories were built in Britain. Off topic, I'll confess that my suits are still made of English wool. I'm convinced I can tell the difference.

To say nothing of the stress of living next to the Irish. Those who complain loudest about Britons would miss them the most were they gone, were the British language recalled, were modern cryptography never invented, if they had to sew their own clothes without an electric loom. Computer programming was invented by the English. Depeche Mode was invented by the English.



I disagree, and Americans revolted only because they were trying to skip out on a tax bill.



I'm not sure that they are as ardent fans of history as you are, Brother Nigel. Instead they are fentonyl-bombing us and trying to blame Mexicans.

We couldn't pay the taxes we were saving up. We knew we were going to need the money in about 100 years to slaughter the original inhabitants of the land

I mean we had been in back and forth wars and skirmishes with different tribes for almost 500yrs. The myth of the innocent Indian and the evil imperialists exterminators is a modern day fabrication.

Of course they did wipe out and enslave the members of our first colony which was on an island off the coast. I'm half Puerto Rican anyways so according to AOC I'm Native American.

Gotta hold on to all the oppressed points I can to make me morally superior after all. Then I can win any argument I want whether my reasoning is sound or not because to respond would be racists and bigoted.

You know what's hilarious? The post that you were responding to was actually inspired by the scene in Trainspotting where the lads are hiking through the hills of the back country. I'm amazed that you answered my (subtle?) Trainspotting reference with a Trainspotting reference.

Think about it. I love that stupid movie. I encoded my love for that film in a metaphor about England and you decoded it without any clues or prompting and you not only responded but provided the correct response and in joke format, complete with Youtube Link. Gallantly done.

Here's the insane part, I had been about to drop a reference to Sean Connery as having been history's greatest Scot. Football star, actor, gentleman about town, all around good guy. Most people don't know but Sean Connery was into body buidling before anyone and he only got into acting because he had mastered bodybuilding and got bored with it.

Please link me to where they enslaved them. AFAIK there's no proof they even attacked them, although that is most likely.

No..... Not my job. You Google. They were looked for and told by other Indians that they had been taken further inland. This wasn't even nearly the last instance.

People are always talking about American natives like they were one congruous nation but in reality they were a bunch of waring tribes and nations that were constantly fighting each other and migrating groups of Native Americans came in and drove other tribes off their land all the time and this continued to happen long after we came so when we moved onto the land which tribe did we take it from? The previous tribe or the conquering one? It's been well established that most of the American natives died from disease anyways(estimated 90%). Not slaughtered by some white man.

You made claim first without proof. I'm not your errand fetch boy. The onus of your own personal gnosis is on you...not me. The information is at the tip of your finger. I'll tell you what... You go pour over all the multiple sources, as I did, and compile a report and submit it to my desk and then we'll talk about it. Little hint it starts with the top google search and expands out to various sources from there but you can do what you want. I don't give a shit.... Ok Skooter🙄

And what claim was that? You really should check your facts in general before you post. I'll wait to see how far back you go trying to back up this one. Or is this also my responsibility to see what claim I made.

It's the pejorative spelling. You made the claim that we slaughtered all the American natives and took their land.

I'm not going to go and retrieve all the multiple sources for you. I checked my facts. All you're doing is stating the naive, liberal, snowflake divisions mantra when it's obvious you know little about the entirety of the matter. Perhaps you should follow your own advice.

No. It wasn't me. I just took the time to scan this entire thread. I should not have and I will not do the legwork to prove you wrong again.

Burden of proof is on the one making the claim. You can't just say what you want and then just say, "I'm not your errand boy." when someone asks for verification.

Your credibility is gone now, as far as I am concerned. Funny thing is, I was actually genuinely curious to start.
