Now that the dust has settled, do any of you have regrets for believing the conspiracies about Russia collusion?

I’m just saying that Biden getting 12 million more votes than obama with half the counties is something worth noticing tbh.

why didn't the powers that be simply fudge the county totals to make his win appear more legitimate? If they have the power to rig the election, surely they'd have the power to do that as well? Or did they want to leave a trail of breadcrumbs for all the sleuths out there?

They just polled Republicans as to what is important to them in a 2024 candidate.
57% said it is important to them to pick a candidate who will. "make liberals angry". That's a big number.
I think this is the biggest threat to our country. The elite started this bullshit culture war to get us to fight and be angry at eachother to distract everyone from how pathetic and corrupt our politicians are.

It's painfully obvious I don't understand why more people don't realize this.

It frustrates me so much.

I mean, I hate the status quo as well. I'm just not prepared to turn a 3 year old with delusions of grandeur loose in Washington just to, "blow shit up".
Thank you for logically stating that. It is crazy because the issues we are living are all shared. We suffer the same. It is the belief systems that run deep and varied. And as supposedly intelligent people we know that notion to just blow stuff up does come from the mind of a child. Intelligent people would want to work together. Build, actually make better and not just use that slogan as propaganda.

I think what amazes me is we pay taxes to the gov to have a better life, roads, schools. Yet somehow the "fight" is what politicians think we want to see? Deep down we all want the same things. Freedom. The road map can be different. But who the hell wants money taken out of their pay to go to these buffoons? It is the people that do anything for perceived power that are dangerous.

Also as far as conspiracies, I could never think humans are smart enough to pull off such high level moves. Conspiracies that are presented can be complex. Not seeing the intelligence to pull it off. Sure I see the trying. But we all know that it is hard to nudge someone away from their beliefs.

They ran up the score to an insane degree in five counties, all the places where they bitched about Muh election fraud. Covid allowed them to suspend chain of custody requirements, and all of the rest of it. If you look at the details it’s super obvious there was fuckery, and they absolved themselves in that time magazine article admitting to much of it. You also can’t forget that the intelligence agencies, big tech, and media colluded to alter the election by suppressing the and censoring the hunter Biden laptop story. At the end of the day the drumpf was never supposed to win in 2016, and everything since has been punishment for allowing that to happen. All of that said, fuck drumpf. I will always hate the establishment and mic, if the parties were reversed I would be considered a lib. If we had a legitimate system I’d vote for rfk, but we don’t, so I only vote in local elections.

The funniest shit is everyone Pearl clutching over Muh George santos. Every fucking one of them are criminals save a rand Paul or two. Paul pelosi is better at the markets than famously successful stock market virtuosos lol

This is not shocking but still wild, 44% of Americans still believe Russia collusion

"QUESTIONABLE SOURCE

A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per-article basis. Please note sources on this list are not considered fake news unless specifically written in the reasoning section for that source. "

I know you're going to call my site fake news since it ranked your site as fake news. And so it goes.

To the more sane folks who might be reading this, I heartily recommend Media Bias Fact Check. Plug a few news sources you have opinions on into it and see what you think.

It ranks MSNBC as...

"LEFT BIAS

These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward liberal causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports, and omit information reporting that may damage liberal causes.
Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy."

So, biased and slanted but not outright lying. Sounds about right.

I've always found political polls to be of dubious reliability in general.

Who the hell actually voluntarily spends their time answering political polls? It's not an accurate representation of the public. It's most likely older people they're polling, whom always lean right, and/or people who have very strong political opinions.

If a right leaning website does a poll they're probably going to get mostly right leaning opinions.

Definitely biased, never claimed it not to be. Easier to link it than the links for the Harvard caps Harris polls the article is discussing tbf.
On the content matter of the polls, I’m not very shocked. There were hundreds of millions of dollars worth of propaganda that pushed the Russia conspiracies from around mid 2016 to the mueller report in 2019. All of your tv/Reddit style thinkers would have never seen that it was a conspiracy based on a debunked document ‘the Steele dossier’. Just a sad state of affairs to see the extent of how low information the general populace is.

I don't even remember what the conspiracy was about tbh...

Do you guys really think about this stuff every day? Must be exhausting.
It's hard to avoid. Even as a Canadian. Unless you hide in a cabin somewhere you'll see it. Everybody was talking about it in the socials, still do, and even in person people yammered on about it endlessly. The conspiracy was that Donald Trump was conspiring with Putin to steal the 2016 US presidential election.

Lmao you don’t actually take this media rating site seriously?
“These media sources have a slight to moderate liberal bias. They often publish factual information that utilizes loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes) to favor liberal causes. These sources are generally trustworthy for information but may require further investigation.”
It’s saying mother Jones is a slight to moderate liberal bias lmao. National pulse isn’t even as biased as mother Jones, and it’s pretty right leaning

Knew you'd do that. Even predicted it.

Took you a while to find one. :)

Dude, there is a difference between selective reporting that you have to research further and out and out lying.

I would, indeed, read a few other sources and compare if I read something in Mother Jones.

Mother Jones is slanted more labor than generally lib as I remember it. Been years since I read that one.
Allsides, another good media rating site has Mother ones as left, period.

So many Americans read headlines and see politics as something akin to football games that I'm not surprised that whatever is pounded in the media by either party would get a slight majority.
It's the impression people are getting from half watching the news. On the other hand, it's not hard to find a poll to pound the table with to back up your views due to the wonders of the internet...

Wow. NY Post.

"In the general election, among registered voters, President Joe Biden (41%) has a a slight edge over Ron DeSantis (37%), and Biden (44%) also enjoys a lead against Donald Trump (38%)."
Humph. Didn't your poll have Biden losing?
Reuters/Ipsos poll too. Hmmm.
This poll also contradicts yours as to who Americans are blaming the debt ceiling BS on.

Anyway. Haven't you guys been saying that the polls suck for years?
Always cherries to pick.

Saying National Pulse is right leaning is ludicrous. Mother Jones, although not what you are portraying, does lean pretty hard left.

I like this as a general guide as well.
In general, I would quibble somewhat over the "center right" and "center left" but take anything from either far side with a grain of ̶m̶o̶r̶p̶h̶i̶n̶e̶ salt.
(also has Mother Jones as left)

The news pushing CIA propaganda and establishment conspiracies like Russia gate get glowing reviews from establishment media site rating sites, and any dissenting outlets are called questionable. How do you guys fall for this stuff, after them being wrong about Covid, pushing endless conspiracy theories like Russia gate, etc etc. They are virtually always wrong, group think is not a virtue imo.

>bbc rueters Newsweek center

Do you genuinely see this as legit? The post and national review is neo con center right.

It's obviously nonsense because they promised and swore that Trump would do jail time for committing crimes with Russia.
So years later, no evidence no charges no convictions, nothing substantial anyway. They got Roger Stone because he was big noting himself and said he had ties to Wikileaks when he didn't. So they got him for lying to the FBI and that warranted a dawn raid with a heavily armed team and coincidentally CNN got tipped off too. The theatrics are comical.

Also the funny thing is - are they accusing Trump of being friendly with Russia and NOT going to war with them?
"How dare he! We were promised war with Russia and Hillary was going to be the first woman president to murder innocent civilians overseas but that stupid peaceful Trump ruined our plans! We had to wait to rig (I'm sorry - fortify ) the election for Biden in order to finally get that war with Russia."

What makes me seethe is that pro establishment people can lie with impunity to congress with zero consequences. Clapper was a big one, and more recently Wray lying about federal involvement in their J6 plot.

The amount of times I've seen these officials get away with lying to Congress.
It's easy to see - if you're on their team you can lie and say whatever to protect their interests, but if you're on the wrong side and you slip up, they'll throw the book at you. Or just fabricate accusations and promise that they have evidence (Adam Schiff *cough* Russia).

NAOMI WOLF: Dear conservatives, I'm sorry I believed so many media lies
The proximate cause of this letter of apology is the airing, two nights ago, of excepts from tens of thousands of hours of security camera footage from the United States Capitol taken on Jan 6, 2021. The footage was released by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson

While “fact-checkers” state that it is “misinformation” to claim that Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi was in charge of Capitol Police on that day, the fact is that the USCP is under the oversight of Congress, according to — the United States Capitol Police.

This would be the same Congress that convened the January 6 Committee subsequently, and that used millions of dollars in taxpayer money to turn that horrible day, and that tragic event, into a message point that would be used to tar a former President as a would-be terrorist, and to smear all Republicans, by association, as “insurrectionists,” or as insurrectionists’ sympathizers and fellow-travelers.
