Maybe science and naturals remedies as wellthe cure for all mental illnesses is believing in god and nothing else
It’s different for everyone but as a general consensus, nothing is a cure. As for a relief, ask your doctor as certain medications may help relieve invega sustenna symptoms. It seems no medications speed up the process however. Different things have worked out for people to provide a relief throughout the forums. No over the counter medications worked for me though. I’ve tried Saint John’s Wort, NAC, ashwagandha and a variety of supplements, none helped. I currently take mood stabilizers that have decreased my invega-caused depression. I personally stay away from any antipsychotics but if they help you, take them as prescribed. I suggest you ask your doctor. You won’t know if the medications work until you try.Is there anything that gives any of you relief that Invega doesn’t block?

I pretty much want to recover exactly what you're talking about as well. Personally I'd love to make a 100% full recovery but worst case scenario I'd accept at least a 95% recovery, bare minimum 90%. As long as issues like anhedonia, akathisia, energy, etc. continue to improve to the point where I am capable of functioning just about as well as I used to I'll be content, though I'll probably have long-term depression from this whole incident. Hopefully you can find the proper treatment for your paranoia, preferably with minimal to no side effects. Although I may not have it or know what it feels like it must be difficult to either deal with paranoia or risk side effects from meds in an attempt to find the right one.I think it depends on what we define as functional. To the government, you are functional if you can work and pay taxes. To doctors, you are functional if you are not psychotic. To me, I am functional if I can keep my daily routine with work, fitness, socializing, laughing and motivation. That’s the goal with the medicine. But I hate invega and will try pills in the future. I just hope I don’t need them for life because I have issues with paranoia
When you recover to certain point you could create side hustle and earn extra money, learn new skills, go more to the gym (2h-3h - 6/7 days a week), find+make friends and hang out (gym, hiking, cinema, coffee, hiking, other activities).I will take a break from medication for a year to see how it goes. This time I’m not going to gamble with my mental health and will take pills if I don’t feel better. However, I think my psychosis has alot to do with downtime where my thoughts are all over the place. The covid lockdown felt like a prison because I was laid off from work. Spent all day in my small apartment going nuts. I’m in a better place now, but often struggle with free time where I have nothing to do. I used to work days and study evenings for a long time. Now all of a sudden, I have a ton of free time with nothing to focus on. This needs to change for mw to heal
At beginning of my recovery, no. Try going to the long walks, maybe it helps you to suffer a bit less. Walks ease akathisia. Is there anything that gives any of you relief that Invega doesn’t block?
And how do you feel nI thankfully only took the loading dose of 234mg which I believe contains two injections, though I only remember being injected once strangely. I was supposed to recieve a maintenance dose a week after but because I was taking abilify injections prior, thank god I had no negative reaction to that, they said the injection that's given a week after the loading dose was no longer neccesary. By the time I was supposed to recieve the monthly injection I was already experiencing severe side effects hence why I only took one or two and not more. Oh also I recieved the first and only injections back on the 9th of December of last year, so its been about 5 1/3 months or so since.
I think that a lot of people recoverd from invega from what have i heard from here..do you know any people that have recovered from invega?
Hello and welcome to the thread. I am really sorry to hear about your severe struggles after receiving Abilify shots. You are absolutely NOT ALONE. This support thread is primarily for people who have suffered after receiving Invega shots but there are a few people in here who have had the Abilify shots too so please have a read back through the threads to read their recovery experiences. No particular names come to mind because I have a really, really bad memory from cPTSD, sleep deprivation and past drug and alcohol abuse. However there are some people in here who are really good at remembering who's had what meds, so they may chime in and be more helpful than me in that department lol.Hello! I’ve had 3 shots of the abilify maintena (400,400 and last of 300mg) My life is ruined!
Does anyone know how much time does it take to recover from 3 shots of the abilify maintena injection?
Appreciate your answers a lot!
Hello, welcome to the thread! From what I know there is only one user on here who has been on abilify maintena. In the previous threads, there were people who took that medication and they said it was easier to heal from than what most of us have taken, invega sustenna. I’ll let @apsucks talk about his experience though, as I’ve never taken abilify maintena.Hello! I’ve had 3 shots of the abilify maintena (400,400 and last of 300mg) My life is ruined!

Paranoid psychosis seems to be the biggest one. I had grandeur delusions. I thought I was an Al Caponel-like gangster. I would hang my paintings up in clubs around my town and thought I had way more importance than I really did. My dad took my car keys because he didn’t want me hurting anyone or hurting myself. I fought him because I thought a gangster would take his keys back. Pretty wild. My mom called the cops and they took me to the psych ward.My paranoid psychosis probably was triggered by too much stress, and I feel like I’m in a better place now.
I felt like I was conspired against by people and that random things somehow were connected to me. I had nobody to talk to about this and it got worse to the point where I demanded answers from family members who then calles the psych ward. In retrospect, I’m glad they did because I was out of control.
I just hope I can deal with this naturally and avoid antipsychotics in the long run. I haven’t been diagnosed with schizo, but I’m probably on the spectrum.
Anybody have experience with similar symptoms?
Thanks for answering mate!! Appreciate that! You know how much time is that? 6 months per injection maybe?Hello, welcome to the thread! Thank you Sounds greatDo a slow ass taper like a 6 month taper or 8 month taper and keep 25 mg , some people do a full year taper
Hi! Welcome! I’ve taken Abilify 3 years ago (3 months on 15mg) and like you I felt like my life was ruined. Although it caused me to not feel caffeine like I used to and had things happen like fatigue and low motivation I still have managed to move on with my life since then. Out of all the antipsychotics I’ve taken I have found Risperdal to be a much more tolerable medication for me. Abilify was a very bad one for me so I totally understand why you say it ruined your life. I got ptsd from the Abilify and the surrounding circumstances. It took me up to a year to physically recover and still recovering from the trauma. Feel free to ask questions if you want. By the way this community is very supportive so feel free to stick around and share anything you’re comfortable with.Hello! They were definitely right to put me in because this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced psychosis. I think the shots were too heavy and pills would have been fine. However, it’s my own fault for not wanting to take the pills, so they forced the injections on me. I have myself to blame for that in all honesty. Now I’m trying to make the best out of a crappy situation. I try to be as active as I canParanoid psychosis seems to be the biggest one. I had grandeur delusions. I’ve been paranoid before, but it wasn’t psychosis. I couldn’t imagine that. Sucks man they put us in a psych ward, it completely changed my life.
