Thank you for the responses. Takes a load of my mind knowing I will recover the ability to enjoy a glass of wine again after a while. I’ll just have to lay off the sauce for a year I guess, which will be tough, but not the end of the world. Guess I can use this as an opportunity to get lean.

As far as other symptoms go I just feel bored after work these days. At least there’s the summer to look forward to. I need to find new hobbies, maybe pick up some good reading material. Crime and punishment by Dostoyevsky seems like a good read.

Other suggestions are welcome.

I appreciate your answer and input.

But surely I (we?) cannot feel the effects of stims because the invega is still active in the blood?

I just don’t see the connection between alcohol and anhedonia, I don’t know what to think on that one. All I know is that I can’t get drunk. I feel weed, but it’s never been pleasureable even before the shots always got paranoid.

The receptors are blocked I get that. And I understand the drug induced anhedonia. But I can push through it and get shit done for the most part. I am emotionally numb, but hope this passes as the drug concentration is lowered.

Are you telling me that YOU, personally, after all this time off, would not even feel dizzy after a bottle of vodka? I just puked when I tried lol. Zero intoxication
It's just at least double as hard for me to get intoxified by alcohol.

@apsucks One person I personally know tried 15mg white kratom after 4 months off oral APs and 1 year off invega, it gave no high or any stimulant effect.

18 months off invega kratom started working again for me....kratom does work when you take abilify altho the high is somewhat less

No WTF were you thinking, I meant it's better to suffer with anhedonia and more cash + rich life then with just having anhedonia along with being broke and no rich lifestyle/life.
Lol sorry. I understood the rest it was just the one sentence that was worded in a confusing way in my opinion. Thanks for clarifying that!

Hello, today I ran for 20 minutes and I felt some endorphin after finishing I think it's some signs of recovery, I'm still taking 1mg risperidone after 9 injections of xeplion , the last injection was 03/19/2023 , I hope the gradual decrease in the dose helps Get recover soon, I wish everyone well

I just started taking L Theanine for relaxation. I think it works for relaxation but since my dopamine receptors are blocked. It would have no effect on my dopamine levels

It most likely still helps protect against invega's toxicity

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts/updates, to be honest I kind of forget about this forum for some time. Anyways I'm here to mention that I'm VERY glad to announce that I have made a major improvenent since recieving the initial shot of invega sustenna back on the 9th of December of last year ( 5 1/3 months ago ), especially since I regained the ability to sleep properly again and have been consistently going to the gym too. Speaking of going to the gym, although I still lack the strength I once had I've gradually been increasing the amount of excercise I do and the amount of days I go in a week, and I've managed to loose some of the 60+ pounds I gained from the injection. Akasthisia is still somewhat present but that has improved considerably, I don't constantly pace back and fourth the way I did initially. My anhedonia has improved immensely, I've started focusing on my hygiene and appearance daily again, I even started cleaning around the house and do yard work, sonething I literally couldn't do months ago. My ability to enjoy certain things like food and music are nearly back to where they used to be, I get a rush of excitement and joy once again from doing them. My cognitive abilities are still unfortunately kind of screwed up but certainly better than it was during the period of time I practically got no sleep. I'm also still concerned about my worsened vision and the fact that I go cross-eyed now, but hopefully that continues to improve with time. The major long lasting issue I have is the trauma/PTSD from the whole experience, particularly the night I borderline had a stroke and went to the ER, crying uncontrollably and hugging the nurses desperately begging for help. So with that being said I'm not sure if a 100% recovery is possible but I'd say I've recovered about 80 to 85% of who I once was. Also don't loose hope, even if you were "lucky" enough to recieve a single injection or unfortunate enough to recieve multiple, rest assured you’ll recover enough to enjoy a decent quality of life once again like myself. From now on aside from supplements/vitamins I'm only going to take medications for my hypothyroidism and nothing more since I don't have more chronic mental illnesses like schizophrenia or psychosis, I'm not taking chances with medications for mental illnesses for the rest of my life, and I sure as hell won't blindly trust psychiatrists either. ( Oh yeah btw Merek if you're still here you can use me as another living example of someone who made a major recovery. ) 😄

Wow thanks for the update! I’m so glad to hear that you youve been getting regular sleep again. I remember that was something you were really concerned about . That was very worrisome. It’s great to hear you have all the rest of the abilities back and like you say , things will come back in time hopefully! Do you think you’re going to go back to college again?
