Jan 6 Attack on the Capitol and the aftermath

So Cucker Carlson cherry picks 30 seconds of video and gives it no context?

"Tour guides"? How do they know that?

If that's what they were doing why weren't those police officers reprimanded?

How can anyone take anything seriously on Fox anymore when they openly admitted to lying and that they themselves don't even believe what they claim on their show?
It's all in the game. Do you really think CNN, BBC, MSNBC, NY Times, WashPoo, HuffPoo, etc. are any different? They are not.

The video evidence re: Capitol police and their response to the protestors has always seemed kind of varied and contradictory to me. Some bits seem like the cops are "babysitting" the protestors or even sympathetic to them, like practically taking selfies with them lol, but other footage from both inside and outside the Capitol makes it look like a melee

Probably just the result of a very fluid, chaotic situation and people reacting to that according to varied circumstances and individual inclination/judgement, I guess

One thing we know for sure, though, if that crowd of people was composed of antifa and BLM, Tucker would be advocating for mowing them down with machine gun nests. But since they're partisans for cheeto Mussolini it's all good, hell you should pin medals on all those brave patriots

Russiagate is a hoax.
Sure it is :bananaslip:
Jill Biden has a "doctorate" in education. 🤣 Getting a Masters or doctorate in education is a joke. Seriously, various universities have

They are degree mills and cash cows, akin to the very old mail/postal degrees if you remember those. I am not sure which is thought of as more of a joke, a doctorate in education or an MFA.

most university faculty show less or zero respect for the doctorate in education. A combination of many EdD programs being part time, the high percentage of k12 administrators who use these as salary boosters, many professional staff at universities taking programs using tuition waivers to gain salary boosts, and a general sense of “low” research bar for the doctorate in education.
Hmm, in what field do you hold a doctorate? What is the purpose of a doctorate in any subject if not to boost your salary? Would someone with a doctorate in theology even take an oath of poverty and go live in a monastery? I doubt it.

I find it funny when people with little to no post-graduate training thumb their noses at certain degrees. Who knows, maybe you're an MD with a PhD in physics. Maybe not. Did you ever stop to think that EdD programs are part time because the majority of the students are also full time working teachers/administrators? Do you think this fact would make going to school more stressful or less stressful? Did you work full time while studying for your doctorate?

Besides, an EdD still requires a minimum 4-6 years worth of study above and beyond undergraduate coursework in addition to in-depth research and a dissertation.

I don't care if someone has a doctorate in fucking underwater basket weaving. If they did all the work, read all the books/journals, wrote all the papers, conducted all the research, and completed their dissertation, then it wasn't easy and they earned it.
Jill turns a blind eye to both her crackhead son and her husband being paedophiles. Biden raped his daughter, and sexually abused black children and corn pop was only trying to protect his brothers and sisters from an evil paedophile who was a lifeguard. Hunter Biden is also a paedophile but he is one as Joe, Jill, or Beau raped him. The fruit does not fall far from the single branch of the incestuous Biden family tree, and the Bidens are rotten to the core.
Really? What does any of this have to do with the amount of effort and work Dr Biden put into her education and the title she earned? Grasping at straws I see.

I know why the conservative politicians and pundits complain about her education and it's because they are jealous and intimidated that a woman and first-lady could possibly be smarter than them. I know you're gay so I'm not sure if you have the same opinions on women as those assholes. Then again, I had a gay boss once and he was a misogynistic prick.
I stopped watching all televised news decades ago.
Same here. Doesn't mean you can't find the same biased news media online though. Or maybe you get your news from youtube. Either way, you clearly are living in an alternate reality. lol. Don't worry, I've been there too and have some great recommendations for meds that will help alleviate this problem.

they (carlson and fox) had access to 41,000 hours of footage and cherry-picked a minuscule fraction of that footage to present a misleading view of those events.

man, it's not often i agree with mitch mcconnell but i did with his comments on carlson's "revelations" earlier today i.e. that his (carlson's) decision to depict jan 6th events in that way was a mistake.

Fox news can't be compared to other news channels. It really can't even be considered a "news" channel, it's blatantly an outlet for propaganda.

The only thing they cover are spun political bullshit, conspiracy, and culture war "stories".

Their main goal is to outrage the audience and inject ideas into their head, rather than to inform. This often leads to people holding deluded or even dangerous ideas. It's closer to a for profit youtube channel than actual journalism.

I'm not defending left wing media per se, but it's not really and accurate comparison to Fox anyways.

Now even the veterans association is asking for the Pentagon to ban Fox on military bases. I think that says a lot, since I presume the military in general leans conservative.

carlson's revelations are looking pretty lame at this point and it's not just left-leaners who are critical of his stunt...
  • "i don't really have a problem with making it all public. but if your message is then to try and convince people that nothing bad happened, then it's just gonna make us look silly." (gop rep. dan crenshaw - texas)

  • "the american people saw what happened on jan. 6...they've seen the people that got injured, they saw the damage to the building. you can't hide the truth by selectively picking a few minutes out of tapes and saying this is what went on. it's so absurd. it's nonsense." (gop sen. mitt romney - utah)

  • "bullshit" (gop sen. thom tillis - nc)

  • "to somehow put [the riot] in the same category as a permitted peaceful protest is just a lie..." (gop sen. kevin kramer - nd)

  • et. al.
i find myself agreeing with josh marshall: "the insurrection was traitorous and disgusting...clumsily edited video of an insurrectionist putting back upright a flipped over chair is hilarious because it's so stupid. we should treat it as such."

BFD. I don't think anyone said there aren't racist, dirty, Trump-loving cops this country. I'm sure for every cop that escorted that nut through the capitol, there was another cop who was violently assaulted by the mob outside.
thanks for pointing this out.

it's easy to look at a couple of seconds of footage and draw massive conclusions... it's not so easy to justify or explain away the cops that were attacked by the angry idiot mob.

The police were always present in the Capitol during the event and interacted with the protestors in different ways. This was something I always thought was known...there was a good piece published by Luke Mogelson in the New Yorker, published shortly after the event in question, and there's one part where he's describing the situation in which the QAnon shaman dude is at the Senate chamber or whatever, that famous image, and the police basically come in and say, ok guys, you've had your fun, lets wrap it up here k? So basically these "revelations" from Tucker have been known about and published about from like day one? I dunno, I don't even get how this is even a story. I was watching a clip of Joe Rogan's show where he's talking about this recent release from Tucker in relation to Jan 6, and he said, oh I always thought that the protestors chased the cops away, then had their way with the Capitol unobstructed. I don't know why he thought that though as that was never the case

A moment later, the door at the back of the chamber’s center aisle swung open, and a man strode through it wearing a fur headdress with horns, carrying a spear attached to an American flag. He was shirtless, his chest covered with Viking and pagan tattoos, his face painted red, white, and blue. It was Jacob Chansley, a vocal QAnon proponent from Arizona, popularly known by his pseudonym, the Q Shaman. Both on the Mall and inside the Capitol, I’d seen countless signs and banners promoting QAnon, whose acolytes believe that Trump is working to dismantle an occult society of cannibalistic pedophiles. At the base of the Washington Monument, I’d watched Chansley assure people, “We got ’em right where we want ’em! We got ’em by the balls, baby, and we’re not lettin’ go!”

Fuckin’ A, man,” he said now, looking around with an impish grin. A young policeman had followed closely behind him. Pudgy and bespectacled, with a medical mask over red facial hair, he approached Black, and asked, with concern, “You good, sir? You need medical attention?”

“I’m good, thank you,” Black responded. Then, returning to his phone call, he said, “I got shot in the face with some kind of plastic bullet.”

“Any chance I could get you guys to leave the Senate wing?” the officer inquired. It was the tone of someone trying to lure a suicidal person into climbing down from a ledge.

“We will,” Black assured him. “I been making sure they ain’t disrespectin’ the place.”

“O.K., I just want to let you guys know—this is, like, the sacredest place.”

Chansley had climbed onto the dais. “I’m gonna take a seat in this chair, because Mike Pence is a fucking traitor,” he announced. He handed his cell phone to another Trump supporter, telling him, “I’m not one to usually take pictures of myself, but in this case I think I’ll make an exception.” The policeman looked on with a pained expression as Chansley flexed his biceps.

A skinny man in dark clothes told the officer, “This is so weird—like, you should be stopping us.”

The officer pointed at each person in the chamber: “One, two, three, four, five.” Then he pointed at himself: “One.” After Chansley had his photographs, the officer said, “Now that you’ve done that, can I get you guys to walk out of this room, please?”

“Yes, sir,” Chansley said. He stood up and took a step, but then stopped. Leaning his spear against the Vice-President’s desk, he found a pen and wrote something on a sheet of paper.

“I feel like you’re pushing the line,” the officer said.

That was published in late January, 2021. So the idea of the police placating these protestors was hardly a new one, for anyone who bothered paying attention

trump's 'big lie' and his attempt to resist the valid results of the election underpin everything that happened on jan 6th.

Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis censured over 2020 election fraud 'misrepresentations'

"Jenna Ellis, a high-profile member of former U.S. President Donald Trump's legal team that challenged his 2020 election loss, agreed to be censured by a Colorado court after admitting to making false claims about voter fraud, according to a court ruling.

Under the agreement released on Wednesday between Ellis and Colorado attorney disciplinary officials, Ellis acknowledged making 10 "misrepresentations" about the 2020 election.

The misrepresentations included saying Trump's legal team could "prove" the election was stolen and that the results were "fraudulent," according to the opinion by Judge Bryon Large, the state's presiding disciplinary judge.

Ellis and the state officials agreed that the statements violated a Colorado rule against attorneys engaging in conduct "involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation," the opinion said.
" (my emphasis)

the truth will out.

True this was always fake news, myself and others here who do not stay glued to leftist mainstream news and yet again it is a case of: We told you it was fake and not any sort of insurrection.

The fact that Jake Angeli was sentenced to jail for 4 years without his defense attorney having access to these videos is appalling.

If these videos were evidence in his case, he wouldn't even be in prison. All he did was simple trespass. And he was escorted by police the whole time.

He didn't try to overthrow the government. At one point he even says a prayer for the police. He wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

His appeal should be heard immediately based on these newly public videos.

Even after these videos prove it was all blown out of proportion and manufactured by the media... lefties still act like it's the biggest thing to ever happen to this country since the Revolutionary war, Pearl harbour attack by the Japanese, the OKC bombing, 9/11, etc. There are people convinced that they were going to see Pence and Pelosi hung from the Capitol and there's no amount of video contradicting that that will ever change their minds. They are brainwashed cultists.

I can believe what a fascistic abuse of power this whole charade has been. Many people were arrested, or had their lives ruined just for simply being there outside the Capitol building, and I don't even want to say 'arrested', these folks were abducted and detained. Some of them seemingly forgotten in solitary and some having their trial only to be sentenced to way too much time. Prime example #1 being the "Q-Shaman" who got 4 years but in actuality he never did anything wrong as we have since learned.

what about the videos which support the idea that many people were there to try and intimidate and/ or violently coerce our government into overturning a duly held election? know what the various definitions of "terrorism" all point to?

Here's the video footage btw. Events described in the quoted excerpt start at 6:15

Did they actually really consider doing this, or were they undercover feds/narcs provoking people, or just acting or doing performance art which is protected by freedom of speech?

I have heard, and read worse claims and threats since Reagan was in office, and leftist demonstrators were not doxxed, arrested and jailed without a warrant, etc.

How can anyone take anything seriously on Fox anymore when they openly admitted to lying and that they themselves don't even believe what they claim on their show?

Somehow, it doesn't seem to matter. I've pretty much arrived at the depressing realization that nothing matters... the propraganda machine will lead people to believe exactly what they want, and they'll defend that view to the death.

Someone said it on Twitter, that means it's proof!

Hunter Biden is a racist paedo just like Joe is. Hunter hates East Asians and they both hate blacks.

Certainly this justifies Trump attempting to topple democracy by declaring himself winner of an election he lost

So if Joe Biden hates blacks and we all know Trump does too, does that mean since two wrongs make a right that the racism cancels out?
