K... the Dems aren't actually going to run him again , are they?

I'm not voting.
People voting against Trump simply cause they hate him, only allows the other evil to get better footing.
If people would stop playing into this left / right dichotomy, we might actually get shit done.

Totally agreed. That said, if you think one or the other is worse, it's still a good idea to vote because the sad fact is, one or the other is going to win.

We need to implement ranked voting and abolish the electoral college so it's simply a majority. Ranked voting would allow third party candidates to have a fair chance because all the people wanting to vote for one could vote in their order of preference so that if they wanted to vote second place for their preferred choice between Giant Douche and Turd Sandwich, their vote would still count and they wouldn't feel like they had thrown it away. The two party system relies on the fact that almost everyone feels forced into voting for one of them.

For that same reason, it's unlikely we will get ranked voting implemented. Maybe one day the stars will align and enough people actually interested in governing for the people will be in office at the same time to get real, meaningful change done.

Great points, this is true.
I guess it's more of a personal thing for me. If I think the system doesn't work, then voting to put it back in every time just feels like I'm betraying myself in a way.
Both parties have things I agree with & things I don't. It's hard for me to prioritize one issue over the other. I don't really have any longing to be a part of any collectives. At least not the ones provided to us.

Drug legalization & helping the economy so I don't have feel like I'm living a meaningless existence every day would probably be my top priorities, but neither party cares about those things. Democrats say they do but nothing ever gets done & even when they try, it gets blocked by the republicans, which they have to suspect is gonna happen. Republicans do the same thing. It's usually meaningless promise-pandering to get votes. Just another example of how the two parties are rigged against us.

If there were a good 3rd party, I might then consider it, but it's gonna take a lot to win me over.
Until then I reject society & any politician, organization or group that seeks any sort of control & dominance over me. Even if they do share one or two views that I do.

I totally relate... I basically feel the same way. I just do prefer the democrats as the lesser of two evils, given the current states of the parties. Even though I am coming to detest the DNC as a whole.

i bet that was tough for him to finally say

theyre still fucked though unless they think of a way to get rid of Kamala

If they're smart, they'll run one of the younger candidates that leans more towards the progressive side, but without totally alienating the centrists. A few of the candidates from the last primary would be solid choices.

Whoever they run is going to get labeled as a socialist traitor by the republicans, of course. Just as whoever the republicans run is going to get labeled a fascist. I think the key will be running the person who has a chance to pull over some people from the middle and even from the republican base who doesn't want to see Trump win again, but who would vote for him over Biden or someone already demonized by the right for being too "socialist".

Gavin Newsom really wants it to be him. And when Robert Francis O Rourke loses in Texas I think his name will be floated as well.

He could misspeak and accidentally start a nuclear war, and the media (govt) would provide cover by pumping out articles like they have with inflation. "Why nuclear war may actually be good". "The rarely discussed benefits of nuclear war"

This shit cracks me up. Who would vote for what we are seeing right this moment? We can't afford or provide harm reduction services nationwide but we're literally signing off on BILLIONS of dollars to kill people in far-away lands...

:frustrated:

If anything, Trump laid the groundwork for nuclear war. After all, he shredded the nuclear deal with Iran and didn't he also end a nuclear pact with Russia as well?

Let's not also forget that some of the documents stolen from the White House and found at Mar a Logo were nuclear secrets.

I know whataboutisms are frowned upon but Trump called for the execution of drug dealers like his friend Duterte, prez of Philippines. How is that Harm Reduction?

What cracks me up is how anyone can believe our nation would be better off now than if Trump had been reelected in 2020. I'm not saying things are presently great because they're not. At least our current administration has some backbone and stands up to our foreign enemies instead of pandering to them and selling us out in the process. How many calls did Trump have with Putin where he either did not allow NARA to collect transcriptions or he bypassed it altogether by using his personal phone? THIS if anything weakened our standing with regards to global politics, not strengthened. The only thing it strengthened was Trump's bank account since it's common knowledge that Russia owns him and always has.

Dosent sound like they know for a fact there were nuclear documents, says the post reported there was, so not exactly credible, we’re gonna have to wait till something concrete gets released

Just because WaPo was the first to break the story does not make it automatically false.

Kinda like how Fox tells blatant lies all the time. Doesn't mean that sometimes they don't report something true.

Nuclear secrets reportedly found at Mar-a-Lago are ‘gamechanger’, experts say – as it happened

Reportedly = somebody said
I guess we'll find out. Don't forget that the Special Master that Trump insisted on employing asked him to specify which documents had been "declassified" and his lawyers refused.

Really, we need to take this to the Mar a Logo Raid thread.
