This is all the more reason to read a wide variety of media sources, both left and right, in order to triangulate some sense of accuracy in reporting. IMHO anyone who gets their news from a single source is susceptible to being fleeced.

If ALL media cannot be trusted, where should one get their news? In order to be informed, we the people need to get our info from somewhere. If not some type of media, then where? See my comment directly above.

This is generally a good idea, read both sides and find the truth, problem is most people already already have their mind made before hand or read multiple outlets from the same side, I think your better off staying away altogether from known propaganda media outlets and only ready the ones that sit in the middle, if everyone did that then in order to be a successful media outlet you would have to leave your biases at the door and just report the facts, if you want better journalism in the US then stop clicking on or watching shit from Washington post FOX CNN newsmax ect.

You don't think it could be that people watch something neutral ie. closer to the truth and realize Fox is the one that's propaganda? IIRC the only reason people call CNN fake news is because Trump said told them to after they posted true things that cast him in a negative light. I'm not saying CNN isn't guilty of at least appearing to take sides but overall in the grand scheme of things they seem more middle of the road than say MSNBC or OAN.

And if you say fuck those outlets altogether, which I agree about Fox, newsmax, WaPo, where do you get propose we get our news?

I get a little bit from AP and Reuters but like I said previously, I also look at a wide variety including some right wings sites just to triangulate and see what the other team is saying. We all need a laugh once in a while.

i used to digest some of that b.s. just to see what they were up to, and it was consistently light on the facts and heavy on the propaganda.

it reminds me of what a right wing russian propaganda outlet must be like.

Do you haz reading comprehension? I essentially said CNN was more credible than Fox, which isn't too much of a stretch. At least CNN attempts to report the news whereas Fox has straight up claimed in court that they are entertainment, not news at all. I also said:

You are watching a puppet show, and if you think the so called ''alternative groups'' are not part of it you are mistaken. Stop watching it. Go outside and grow something or do a project. Spend time with your family if you have one (and they arnt certifiably insane). Even if they are and they arnt actively trying to kill you, spend a little time with them. Go on nature hikes, learn some kind of craft ect.

While I 100% agree we should spend more time on nature and family, this is why I don't watch TV at all save for NFL/college football, which is seasonal. Even then, I mute the commercials. But I still save time for reading the news online because I feel it is our responsibility as social animals to at least be somewhat informed. After all, we are posting in a forum called Current Events and Politics
