K... the Dems aren't actually going to run him again , are they?

Sanders would be super old too, but the guy seems much sharper still, and I wanted to be able to vote for him every time he ran. He's a guy a lot of people would get behind because they believed in him. But the DNC has made it clear he's not going to get a chance. Plus he would alienate some of the moderate base. In that sense I can see why the DNC might have decided against him even disregarding the desire to see someone in office who wouldn't oppose the corporate machine (which is almost surely the actual reason). But really, Bernie isn't so radical. The right push from the top could remove that alienation, I think.

Anyway I don't think that's gonna happen. There are a handful of candidates who would work a whole lot better than Biden, and I really, really hope the DNC realizes this and makes the right choice and doesn't try to run Biden again, because there is absolutely no way he'll win, I think.

Changing my opinion to "definitely not" now that over the weekend there has been a clear pivot among Dems and media figures to "Biden is old and confused" from the usual "nothing is Biden's fault"

So those making fun of Biden (and I'm not denying this is some laughable stuff) and who would rather see someone else run as the democrat candidate (I also would) would you AT LEAST vote for Biden over Trump in 2024 if a gun was to your head and you had to choose one or the other?

Cause if you'd choose someone who was twice impeached and tried to destroy our democracy and wanted the metal detectors removed so armed civilians could reach the capital and hang Mike Pence over someone who just says laughably silly stuff, then you've got yourself some problems...

Yes. I'd vote for a pile of dogshit over Trump.

What about Cory Booker?
I like him a lot.

age of Biden 79 years, age of Trump.. 76 years. Would you hire a 70+ year old to do much of anything?.. like literally anything?????
My dad's 74 and he's super sharp and yes, he's capable of doing quite a bit (in terms of his skill area, he's a writer and could teach some great English classes.)

My mom is 73 and super sharp and is a therapist and helps multiple patients a day.

I mean dude, you are being a bit ageist to say that no one in their 70s can do jack shit anymore. Everyone ages differently, and some people have sharp minds even into their considerably later years.

We are not talking about teaching some undergrad English or a fucking psychology position. We are talking about President of a very powerful nation. Maybe you should geriatric candidate out your parents for all our worlds benefit?

You didn't say president, you literally said "would you hire a 70+ year old for LITERALLY ANYTHING?"

So I mean, what, i was supposed to guess that you only meant being president when you said that?

How was I supposed to infer that?

Plus, not even sure what that end part of the statement means, "geriatric out your parents" but it also is pretty insulting. Do you really want to be insulting? Cause I've read your posts over the years and generally speaking you don't seem the type, and this seems maybe a bit out of character for you.

Try giving people with serious problems therapy 9 hours a day 5 days a week. Most people can't do that shit at any age.

If you yourself were reading that comment from someone else, you would have to infer logically that they weren't just talking about being the president, but about doing "literally anything."

Honestly, I kind of would like an apology but you probably won't give one, but that's just insulting towards old people.

I'm still going to consider it to be out of character for you and assume maybe you're in a bad mood, but hiring anyone for "literally anything" at 70+ years is what it sounds like, not "would you want anyone to be president at 70 plus years?"

Words...they like, mean things...

Well.. I guess I apologize. Im not saying older people are not capable.. just my very sucsefull parents are in their 70's and Im not personally down for looking to almost anyone of that age group for leadership at this point.

I apologize if my comments offended you and I did not intend to demean your parents specifically.

It's not about age to me, it's about mental impairment. I've never seen Bernie appear slow or impaired in any way. I'd vote for him again in a heartbeat.
My friend just made a good point and was like "dude, imagine if you had to read from cards all day every day and probably rarely slept more than 6 hours a night if not 4 and were as overworked as Biden, you could accidentally say some dumb shit."

It could happen to me. I could imagine being so freaking tired and over worked I could say all kinds of stuff.

BUT...Biden's not ideal, but he's better than Trump...

Totally dude. It's all good.

Yeah, I mean, few jobs are harder than president LOL.

They seem to have always had this thing where you can't be president unless you are old enough, like, being in your 40s is SUPER young for president, and it's almost like we don't think candidates are experienced enough unless they are older, which to some extent could make sense, but I mean, there is also such a thing as being too old, especially for something that requires so much energy.

I would think that late 50s early 60s could perhaps be an ideal age if we want experience/wisdom but still some energy left.
