Yeah it's certainly not coinciding with the numbers plummeting and restrictions being lifted all over the world, and something happening that draws in much more traffic.

I'm all for banging on COVID strategies and the media but gotta be reasonable...
 
LVIV, Ukraine — The last thing on anybody’s mind these days in Ukraine seems to be COVID-19.

With millions of people on the move fleeing the Russian invasion, health systems disrupted, and testing and vaccination programs suspended in many places, health officials fear that conditions could spread disease. But the pandemic, they said, was no longer a top priority.

“People are not frightened about COVID anymore,” said Dr. Marta Saiko, head of the therapy department at the Clinical Municipal Emergency Hospital here in western Ukraine. “People are frightened of the war.”

A senior U.S. defense official said Monday that almost all of the Russian military's advances in Ukraine remain stalled.

Polish Foreign Minister and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Chairman-in-Office Zbigniew Rau told the U.N. Security Council Monday that Russia's military activity in Ukraine amounts to "state terrorism".

“This operation -- poorly prepared and executed -- turned out to be a strategic and tactical failure. But instead of preventing further unnecessary deaths in its own ranks, the Kremlin changed its tactics," he said.

"The invading force started to target the civilian population and infrastructure in an attempt to break the spirit of the Ukrainian people. This is deplorable and shameful and amounts to state terrorism, "Rau continued. "Schools, hospitals and kindergartens are deliberately being targeted with internationally-banned weapons. The reports of women and children killed are devastating.”

Russia Asks China For Help In Ukraine Invasion: US Intel

US officials said Russia asked China to send it certain types of weapons amid its invasion of Ukraine.

Russia asked China for military equipment and economic aid in the weeks since Russian President Vladimir Putin first announced a full-scale invasion of Ukraine last month, U.S. officials said.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The Washington Post that Russia also asked China to send it certain types of weapons. However, the officials refused to specify which kinds. They also declined to say how China reacted to Kremlin’s requests.
 
I thought china and Russia had a coordinated end goal of a world war with them Syria, North Korea, and Iran against the west in mind with this attack from the start.

chinas escalation in the South China Sea and recently coming out and telling the world that they dont have a problem bringing on Armageddon was a signal to me that their covert war on the USA had been successful enough and they felt Europe was in such weakened state of disarray that this was the time.

france literally had to pick between mali and the south china sea and pulled their troops from mali essentially abandoning their final colonial hold in order to deal with the increasingly blatent chinese aggression and put their troops in the South China Sea

China is signaling that the time is coming when they will bring errant taiwan to heel and warns anyone who interferes in this that they will have no problem bringing on Armageddon telling them stay out of it, don’t help the us, it’s not your fight. Australian news said the day when the us was a superior military power is over. On this I agree.

So our allies are already working up the narrative around which they will rationalize leaving us in the wind. Which we should really feel that feeling because we have been doing that left right and sideways and what goes around comes around. When you think someone has your back and…enter the USA with the Kurds the USA with ukraine and the USA; your turn.

a country that is western in ideology with a much larger totalitarian/fascist regeime that feels they don’t exist because their very land belongs to the “motherland“

you can see why xi and putin might have a lot to talk about and base a friendship on
they lhave been running joint military exercises for years

1.they hate the west
2.they have these annoying countries that “belong to them” but are flouting that and instead existing in line with western ideologies which galls them
3. and if they move to bring them under control their annoying enemies the west comes in and dares to interfere

I can picture them gossiping like two angry high school girls
And they are not wrong about the west

but they are not right in imposing their will on these sovereign nations

I fear China
they wrote the book on war

everyone should read it

is the lack of swift progress, financial consequences and public shaming enough to back them off of joining them?

I think we keep pouring it on, and the Russians culminate.
