Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

and yeah about the hospital bill, currently my insurance is 50% for anything at the hospital. The average covid bill here is about $100,000-$1,000,000+

It would fucking ruin me I would be in debt the rest of my life
What happens if you got Cancer or something like that?
Also................

1) What State are you based at?
2) I've always wanted an answer to this one, why do most American people think anything funded by Tax that goes towards Universal Health care is "Socialism"?

it's SO FUCKING ANNOYING how conservatives in my country immediately call better healthcare systems "COMMUNIST SOCIALISM!!! DANGER!!!" because their politicians are getting rich on the current system and want to make it even MORE expensive

Obamacare (which I have now) was one of the best things to happen to this country in many years. I would literally not have insurance otherwise.

Some of us who wave the Gadsden flag aren't total assholes & have a Bible in one hand & an AR-15 in the other or feel the need to shit on other peoples Liberty ;)

It's the same story with essentially any serious illness in the US. Unless you are already rich, it fucking ruins lives (hospital bills)

I am currently in North Carolina.

2. because they are incredibly susceptible to propaganda and the average American isn't intelligent enough to see through that shit

"What?? Higher taxes for free medical care?!?! I DON'T WANT TO PAY HIGHER TAXES!! EVIL!!! SOCIALISM!!!!"

it makes me so angry man, they listen to the propaganda blindly instead of actually looking at how universal health care works

indeed, I know many conservatives who I admire and respect, I am technically from the south, I have many family in the heart of Texas. Some are assholes, some are just reasonable normal people.

I think the issue is the 'bad' ones tend to be the loudest and make the most noise

Dread Pirate Roberts likes this ;) =D

EEK!!!!

Oh God I feel for you, I know some good people come from The South & in a way I feel a deep love for some of the people in that part of the USA but you also have many fucking idiots down there too. Yeah now I know what part of the USA you are based at I understand your view on Covid, I bet you have seen some right fucking idiots over the last few years, Jesus will heal everyone from this Plague upon humanity if we only burn the gays, put black people back in chains & ban abortion clinics ;)

indeed, I know many conservatives who I admire and respect
Over here it's viewed a little different to the USA, i am for Liberty & Freedom for everyone, if you bleed blood & breath Oxygen you are the same as me, I have NO right to fuck with you in your daily life or tell you what to do. All i ask is you don't be a dick to others & have some self respect. My Logic goes back to the mask issue, I can imagine in the South you have Trump / MAGA types who make a huge drama over it & think "God" will help them, little do they know OR understand "God" doesn't give a fuck & made everything on Earth which gives us free will & the ability to make SARS-Covid2 in a lab, yeah choke on that Bible loving freaks ;)

My whole view on life is just don't be a dick to others, I will not fuck with your freedom & don't fuck with mine.

regardless of the science or what people think of it, it's simply the considerate thing to do. Right? For the sheep who believe it helps (I am one), it gives me much stress when I am near anyone who isn't masked. Even when outside on a jog, I will cross the road to avoid someone else on a jog with no mask. (I don't wear one on jogs, no, just keep my distance)
You would lose your shit here. Nobody wears a mask. I work in a café that is crowded all day. Not. A. Single. Fucking. Mask.
I think I have seen maybe a dozen people with masks during the whole COVID affair.

And your point is?

If it's such an issue to you go get a new job, where is the chain round your neck that keeps you as a slave in the cafe?

My point is just that no one wears masks here, compared to America.

I don't give a shit about masks. It's not an issue at all. If COVID kills me, it kills me. I was just stating a fact.

What happens if someone gets covid? How much money do they pay for medical treatment?
I'm guessing the same as we pay for everything else - which is next to nothing.
I had to get 3 stitches in my forehead after busting it open on a handlebar on a bike, and I paid 15 bucks for that.
When I broke my leg, I paid around 30 bucks in total to have two MRI's (I think that was the scan?), have it re-casted twice and taken off, plus seeing a doctor afterwards.

In other words, you never go bankrupt here for being sick and getting admitted to the hospital.

That is correct. Sweden. Restrictions here have been pretty much non-existent.
TBH I was shocked that Sweden went the way they did with Covid-19, my experience in Norway was horrific, I loved the climate & outdoor life but I found the "State" control in a persons life horrific, they don't know what Liberty is in that country & the Swedish people I spoke to told me horror tales of the drug laws etc over there.

I found the place amazing in terms of landscape but the way the people are I couldn't take, the neighbours were so nosey & Norwegian people had some weird obsession with messing in a persons private life. The person I stayed with got caught by Customs importing 1 gram of MXE, she was put on some list & her mail was checked for a whole year, Barnevernet were up her arse & took her kid FFS!!!!!!

I can't even begin to explain how jealous I am ;(

I wonder how much free healthcare influences people's covid decisions. I would be much much less worried myself.

If there was ONE single change I could make to this country, it would be free low cost healthcare.

Yeah, the drug laws here are fucked. You're better off beating someone half to death or rape a bunch of kids than being caught with illicit substances.

Norwegian people are a bit different than Swedes. In general, they're more open (and thus, nosey AF).

It wasn’t until I was well into my 20's that I started appreciating our healthcare system for real.
It's crazy to read that people in the US for example have to choose between fighting their cancer or losing their home.

:ROFLMAO:❤️❤️❤️

Surströmming could raise the dead, someone slips into a Covid-19 Coma stuff some of that by their nose or in their mouth to bring them back to life.
So ture. And it tastes as bad as it smells. It should be considered a weapon of mass destruction, that fucking surströmming.
I'd rather suck dick with a migraine than taste that again!
