Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

The AU Federal Government is sending me mail, urging me to get another covid injection, whilst early treatment protocols including medications and supplements in various doses involving ivermectin, fluvoxamine, aspirin, Vitamin D, quercetin, zinc, monoclonal antibodies, and steroids are literally 'banned' by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and health bureaucrats here in Australia under threat of a $50,000 fine.
Unbefuckinglievable.
If Coca Cola could ban Pepsi do you think they would ? If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying

most covid deaths happened due to them mixing morphine with some other fucking drug leading to repistoary depress in the UK. They literally murdered old people

these are nothing like each other.

I only quoted this line of your post.

I'd like to explain how peer review and god are actually exactly the same thing.

We only see the society we live in not the one others talk about. Long ago people believed in a shrouded difficult to understand source of information called God whose knowledge filtered down to us through those who understood god and could explain gods knowledge to us.

How is this not exactly the same as what happens in the scientific community? I can see very clearly how the "word of god" can be the word of "peer review".

To the layman it is exactly the same. To both the scientist and the religious leader this is an insult because both will claim their knowledge is very real.

The solution is to expertly teach objective thinking to the coming generation and remind them that they will be more intelligent then their parents, just like their parents had a chance to be better educated then their parents etc through history.

To do this we need to learn from the mistake of the religions, they attempted to hide their God from the people and pretend special understanding. Once the people saw the holy men were not correct they lost their following and humanity is forgetting about God.

Science does not currently deliver knowledge or understanding to the people, it hides behind its built faith that the population has in science and now when the holy men of science are calling for action based on faith based on "peer review" we are not seeing the results, exactly like what happened to our faith in the religions.

Without easily understood knowledge being passed to the masses science has become exactly like the religions of old in the view of the world.

This problem is real and the scientific community needs to address it or we all run the risk of being overrun by the ignorant hoard. I side with the ignorant hoard a lot because I see their cause, science needs to be better.

I will admit: many of the vaxxers in Australia have legit gone crazy now.

They want to vaccinated 5-12 year olds. Why?

The original argument was to prevent spread. Now - with omicron - it doesn't prevent spread. It prevents hospitalization and death. So, why the fuck are we jabbing children?

I didn't agree with jabbing kids back when it was delta, let alone omicron.

I don't care if parents want to jab their kids, but the government shouldn't be pushing it on younger and younger children. It leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

The game has changed. We need to change tactics.

Fascinating

So...ya know what that tells me? the more you get vaxxed, the weaker your immune system becomes, and since it's not able to stop omicron at all anyway, the only defense left is your own immune system, and the vaxxed immune system is in a weakened state, while the unvaxxed is in an all-natural and superior state

Whats fascinating is that the most of people blindly regurgitating this shit have lost the ability to read and understand a sentence. From the abstract of the quoted Study:

"Among 11,937 households (2,225 with the Omicron VOC), we identified 6,397 secondary infections during a 1-7 day follow-up period. The SAR* was 31% and 21% in households with the Omicron and Delta VOC, respectively. We found an increased transmission for unvaccinated individuals, and a reduced transmission for booster-vaccinated individuals, compared to fully vaccinated individuals.

(*where SAR is the percentage of secondary cases within the same household that tested positive between 1-7 days following the positive test of the primary case within the household)

All i gotta say is Thank Fuck none of the armchair experts posting here are in charge of anything important.

Any thoughts on the Djokovic drama birdup, as an Australian man...?

Not really. My parents always offer me free tickets to the Australian Open. I went once. Never again. I just sat there, my head turning back and forth like some kind of water gun circus clown. Bored the shit out of me. I had to look his name up to confirm he's a tennis player. Seems like the fucking idiot tried to sneak his way around the rules. If he doesn't want to comply with our entry requirements he doesn't have to play in the Open.

On another note, why are tennis players names getting so difficult to spell and pronounce? They used to have good, Christian names like Patrick and Jonathon. Now it's always a bunch of consonants jammed together for no good reason.

who knows. i just didn't want anybody reading his statement and thinking it was anything other than a crock of shit.

alasdair
When it comes to important shit, I don't spread lies (like liberals do constantly).
If you can point to anything else I've lied about over the previous 4,481 posts, I'd like to see it.

To the layman it is exactly the same. To both the scientist and the religious leader this is an insult because both will claim their knowledge is very real.
There is a course of action by which the layman can acquire the knowledge of the scientist. not true for the religious leader, whose 'knowledge' doesn't really qualify as such under any reasonable definition.

Further, all the rXiv resources have made the scientific process open to anyone who wishes to see it. the amount of open data means that lay people can get stuck in. you can watch classes by the best of the best in your chosen area in your home, for free. science is more accessible than ever to those willing to put in the hard slog of learning, which requires a very strong work ethic for little reward in the forseeable future.

The solution is to expertly teach objective thinking to the coming generation and remind them that they will be more intelligent then their parents, just like their parents had a chance to be better educated then their parents etc through history.
I agree we should do this but I don't think it would help in this actual situation.

Science does not currently deliver knowledge or understanding to the people, it hides behind its built faith that the population has in science and now when the holy men of science are calling for action based on faith based on "peer review" we are not seeing the results, exactly like what happened to our faith in the religions.
Science isn't hiding. See above re openness.

We are beyond the point where we can deliver knowledge to the people. Less than 10% of the posters here would even understand the basic vocabulary of the subjects i studied at the start of my PhD- i.e. when i first started training to research so was basically just a decent masters student. That is because of the level of specialisation we have reached.

What science delivers that religion does not is technology. I don't know how old you are, but in my lifetime i've gone from seeing my dad receive an email and telling me this is revolutionary, expensive dialup, to email being an outmoded form of communication and 4/5g. We've gone from sequencing the human genome being a nuts idea, to doing it as a global effort, to being able to send off our saliva to find out what percent neanderthal we are (or share a few SNPs with at any rate).

Religion never showed us the concrete fruits of its knowledge and this is a key difference to me.

BTW why did wizard get a temp ban ? I kinda liked that crazy witch
Hi there. I didn't tbh. I like good warm hearted, fair open minded and my kind of personal priority actually conscious people.

You posted that at 3.33 am here lol.

I am seeing 3, 33, 66, etc everywhere all day nowaday. Numbers play a central part n the magic and dynamics and structure and pattern of our reality in this "area".

The Elites are Control Freaks
A Nudge makes it more likely that an individual will make a particular choice, or behave in a particular way, by altering the environment so that automatic cognitive processes are triggered to favor the desired outcome.
There are various notable examples of government applications of Nudge Theory.
In Australia, the state Government of New South Wales established a Nudge Unit of its own in 2012. In 2016, the federal government followed suit...In 2020, the British government of Boris Johnson decided to rely on nudge theory to fight the coronavirus pandemic...
