Covid-19 The New Covid Megathread v.Oh-my-cron!

we need to have a discussion about German food

English is a Gemanic language - that's why they're kinda similar

they say the adjectives before the noun just like we do where like spanish and italian say the noun first then the adjectives

Isn't German more similar to English than many other languages? I think my sister told me that, I'm 55% German ancestry.

Now I want schnitzel for dinner! Soooo good
It is, but you guys can't pronounce our R's, Z's and Ch's, like a shitload of you can't make those sounds.

Yeah the problem is the articles.
You have to know the gender for all the things you talk about.
Like the sun, is female in germany, male in most other countries. Die Sonne.
The moon, is female in most other countries, male in german. Der Mond

In addition we have the neutral gender, das.

So you gotta know that tables are male, doors are female, walls are female, nipples are female, even if you're talking about a male's nipples. It's almost impossible to master, I have never met someone who wasn't born here or moved here in the first 5 years of life, who mastered German, as in, they don't make mistakes in every second sentence.

Do Czechs speak Czech? like does anybody else speak Czech? does Slovakia speak Czech? is that a Slovek language?

are Czechs slavic? yea right?

While that is true in normal cases, if you are talented enough at speaking german, you can place your sentences however you want, you just need to fill in the right words for it to make sense.

The fast runner. Der schnelle Läufer, or Der Läufer schnell, which is a bit old-timey, but it does work.
I mean ppl would look funny, but Goethe talked like that, so fuck em

All ex USSR speaks slavic languages, except Romania(the name gives it away). Slovaks and Czech speak the same language, which is jugoslavian

my buddy told me his son's girlfriend is "gender neutral" and she wants to be referred to as "it" instead of "she"

ya know what fuck you im not doing all that

lol tell her that in German it's that way anyways. "Das Mädchen" / the girl. Neutral gender, rofl.
But Die Frau / the woman

What I don’t get is you have a word for neutral so why not use that, then over a period of time it would just be a given that objects are neutral so you can just drop the assignment all together ….I dunno I’m stupered

as far as im aware its impossible to create ur own valid QR codes unless you know the authorization keys the government are using. I.e leak or hack the government
Not that I should be encouraging this but on that GitHub site for this thing there's a link to the keys (public keys) if that's what you're talking about. But this now way beyond my field of expertise or interest. A few years ago: MAYBE. Thing that I don't really get about this is why make the nuts and bolts open source? I mean to say I've read the reasoning behind it. Seems like a bit of a slippery slope to me. Then again: pretty sure an app. that bypasses the system could be worth something (as it stands now even paper/printed certificates have value). I'd hazard a guess and say the at some point there'll be hefty penalties involved for anybody that actually develops such a thing let alone somebody who uses it. Probably end up wishing you'd had the jab before being caught out! :ROFLMAO: And I don't see how any of this could fly under the radar especially if a device has to connect and verify and authorize. Anyway. You're too far away from me for this to be a new or worthwhile pursuit or hobby! Famous last words. Soon enough some really clever andclued up people will be making millions on this. When there's a gap? Well you know what I mean I'm sure.

Because objects are not always neutral. Anything could possibly be neutral.
earth (female) water (neutral) fire (neutral) air (female)
dog (male) rat (female), but once we "cutefy" the word it's neutral. "small/cute dog" - hündchen (neutral) unicorn (neutral) rhinoceros (neutral) cloud (female) horse (neutral)
radiator (female) piano (neutral) guitar (female) chair (male)

it's a bit too complex to just say you'll do it another way all of a sudden, when our language is like 5 times as old as yours

yea no shit
From that article:

"We concluded by issuing a stark warning about the dangerous consequences of vaccine misinformation, highlighting that even "unintentional" comments from politicians can wreak havoc."

Better not let him see this thread i.e. he'll lose his shit! :ROFLMAO:

the entire point of public key crytopgraphy is that only certain parties have the private keys. that's why its an issue when those get shared. without those you got nothing, unless you have a quantum computer to factorise large primes.
