Who speaks german here?

Why would you hate anyone for being born the way they were born? How is it their fault? Did they choose to be born that way? Did you choose to be born the way you were? Is a child crippled from birth at fault for how it turned out?
Take it from a German: just leave the fucking hitler stuff outside

i dont dislike or hate anybody for being born anything - i was obviously just fuckin around about it

it's history - it happened - there's been a lot of terrible things that have happened throughout history - you can denounce it but that doesn't mean it didn't happen

latin makes me think of....

puella puellae
puella puellae
puellam puellas
puellae puellarum
puellae puellis
puellas puellis

servus servis
servi servis
servo servo
servorum ?
servis ?
servis ?

bellum bella
bellum bella
bellum bella
belli belorum
belli bellis
bello bellis

or something. can see why latin is a dead language!! how much time i wasted doing that.....
Not a waste though Chinup. Hope you are okay and well.

Because, it seems Latin, as unspeakable and apparently innaplicable today, has stems and roots all modern languages can be traced back to in many cases as origins of outward conjugations and extensions of Language and terminology.

So it's a useful study to have behind you in that sense. An early acquisition for the appreciation of the simple meaning of words in a purely non figurative sense.

I honestly forget I had the rareish (privilege) to take fun Latin classes for two years for GCSE, but I don't feel it was a waste at all.

Now History, Geography, even the sham religious edication class which was terminated forever after we all rebelled with written prijects that were cartoons of mockery, nott something I am proud of now.

A special assembly was called with the headmaster, shocked and appauled they were at us all, announcing the class would be terminated.

i don't think anyone denouncing it is trying to imply something didn't happen. because, to denounce it is to implicitly assert that it did happen.

change your avatar, don't say things that make you sound like a nazi, and don't post nazi paraphernalia as 'your friends collection' if you don't want people to think you don't have nazi leanings.

@F.U.B.A.R. - its feminine, masculie, neuter- nd i forget the declensions (?)- nominative, dative, accusative, ablative, - i dunno, i just know the germans at least only have 3. or something. less than latin. but we don't have genders or different forms for nouns depending on their grammatical use. yay!

well i don't really care if that's what anybody thinks....i stated my stance and that's that

collectibles are collectibles - that same dude has collectibles from the Japanese, English, as well as American awards from the same era

So go back to his house and take pictures, i'd love to see WWII japanese art or russian pre-treason art! :D Otherwise you're just another nazi freak who don't even get what this was all about.:.

i think it's the easiest language to pick up on if you only speak english......english is a germanic language isn't it? so they're kinda similar

When I was at an English grammar school in the 70's, we were forced to take three languages. Latin was a non starter because it was taught by our RE teacher so no one took him seriously.

French was taught by a senile old witch who was later dismissed for loading the staff room tea urn with laxatives .

However, our German teacher was fuckin hot. She had a taste for far too tight tops and skirts which resulted in us pre pubescent schoolboys debating on whether she was wearing sussies.

So as a result, German has always been my second language.

Er, Der, Die,Das or summat?

He died from ALS a couple years ago so i can't go to his house....he sold most of what he had and awarded me the iron cross before he passed

he was a pilot - i met him at a job at the airport....really good dude - same deal tho as me - his grandfather was in the war so maybe that's where a lot of interest comes from - most ppl ive met that collect things from that era, same deal - they had a family member in the war - they're not neo-nazis or anything.....i don't even know anybody who i can even slap that label on...... but you guys seem to be able to find those ppl without even ever talking to or meeting the person

French teachers Hot at my school.

German teachers ghastly.

I chose French lol.

Not exactly, but its roots partially comes from nordic languages...

english comes from low german, still spoken in the north, than transformed into netherlandish, then made a sonus subcinctus (called laútverschiebung in german) and then transformed into english.

Nobody knows where english comes from, some says it comes from the moon, or mars, or venus, but one can does not simply decrypt the arcana of how civilisation became what it is today...

Yes but, to post two above- even if English did "come" from German, German still has it's roots in ancient Latin which served as the foundation for the individual modern languages.

hate symbols aren't collectibles.

and i'm sorry, but like every other european, i know loads of people related to people who fought. i know loads of people very interested in WWII, to the extent they collect shit, not a single one collects nazi shit. because they comprehend the difference between a hate symbol and a collectible. i just don't buy it. unless people are so stupid they don't understand what something represents.

only WWII paraphernalia i will keep is the virtuti militari my grandfather won for killing nazis in the corridor of death.

well own the message it sends.

all my language teachers were middle aged women, except for german. but before picking for GCSE we had 3 years french and 1 german, and could pick one or the other. so obviously french was gonna be easier.

one french teacher was our form tutor and her name was mrs chicken. so it was impossible not to call her madam poulet. one day she ranted at us for like an hour, then went off on a nervous breakdown. from what i understand, driving at least one teacher to nervous breakdown is an important part of the school experience.

And before? And before? And before? And before?

:trippy:
I have some ideas on that actually.

The actual "print" of matter itself is the origin from which language and conscious, time-based thought have become extensions of in this material plane.

Beyond which and long before too I personally consider to exist.

Pre-dating language as it's known in this place.

No actual language or words are ultimately necessary when psychic communication is vastly superior.

I do have in this life an interest and enjoyment in learning and using language.

Not foreign languages these years. I lack motivation I'll admit. And energy.

But I applaud those who do, by self initiative,

Nope, German is hard as fuck for English natives.
I have met almost no native speaker who can pronounce our Z's, ß's, ch's, r's, st's, sp's or our vowels(which are very precise) - just is what it is, your tongues are not made for our language, we however pick up very easily on English, it's German in super simple.
And English natives have huge problems with our pronouns or our articles, they just don't get it, how could they, don't let me start on cases, that's a principle in language you have completely abandoned. For French-speakers it's simple, most articles are usually the same, although they don't have a neutral article.

My uncle is from the States and has lived here for over 30 years and his German still sucks balls. Don't try to learn German, same goes for Russian

If I was a native English speaker I'd pick Spanish, it's a very simple language(aside from the subjuntivo, but you only need that in business talks rly) and it gives you a better understanding of Latin, which will in turn give you a better understanding of German, French, Italian, and Skandinavian tongues. That's why we teach Latin here in school, it unlocks so many languages.

My mom's side of the family is 90% German, but (ach!) the only German words I know are:
Bratwurst
Sauerkraut
Schnitzel
Strudel
Bier
So if I ever go there at least I'll get fed.
