It is standard ethical procedure to unblind participants in a study and offer them a treatment for which the benefits clearly outweigh the risks.
It would be unethical to continue the trial just to see what happens, shades of Tuskegee there.
 
Currently, out of 125 total voters, 31 have voted "Does not apply I am not going to be taken out by the deepstate"

And i am pleased. Delighted. I think that number is way higher here, than within the general population. Way to go, all of you tinfoil wearing corona-denialist conspiracy theorists. Did i forget something, how the corona freaks insult us? Oh, Murderer, of course, you want grandma to die!

The politics of healthcare.
The Sputnik vaccine used on most of San Marino's residents isn't recognised in Italy, oops.
Some Astra-Zenica vaccines are recognised by the EU and others aren't, I believe "made in India" was a problem for some.
The Chinese vaccine was dismissed by the West before it even got started.
But on the whole pharmaceutical shares prices are doing very well.
 
What has happened with Barry Sherman's pharmaceutical industry since his murder?

He was the last, closest thing the pharmaceutical industry had to an honest man. To me the double murder of him and his wife 3 years ago seems far too convenient. He made 100 dollar pills cost 69 cents and saved us all billions in generic options.
 
“You” lot are taking over here again almost you know without Birdie around like the security guard at the entrance to the supermarket and the new big bad Wolf in town to cut you (me too) all down.

The actual trials ongoing for the vaccine, it was suggested it was unethical to continue.

But what would happen if they told the world, okay the safety data was due by later next year, by which time everybody in the world will have been encouraged to use a light word, to take 3 or more.

However, we decided there’s no point continuing with the safety trials because we don’t actually have a control group for comparison.

We just have allotments of rats, all received the actual vaccine, to observe and see what we can learn from that.

We don’t usually, or science doesn’t, do things like this. So we should just stop really.

But we will still likely learn a lot from continuing the trials and observation. It just won’t be oriented around safety, so we’ll be unable to really discuss that, come the end of it, as we usually would, in relation to this trial.

But if we just admit we fluffed up the control might as well take a half day it’s raining now anyway…

There would be uproar! What! No safety trials! Oh, you are still doing them it’s okay, there just isn’t a control and you won’t be able to draw any solid conclusions or make reliable announcements about safety.

Phew. I thought you were going to say you were going to just stop the flawed trial now.

It’s much more than a matter of ethics, IMO, but that does come into it.

Let’s say I bite the carrot of X thousand pounds to take part in such a trial.

I sign a disclaimer going into it. Okay, it’s Russian Roulette I understand that, I choose to accept the risk and take the responsibility for handsome reward, you just need me to pull the trigger a few times right?

I might enter the trial under the impression only 4 of the 6 Chambers are loaded.

So that has to enter my own assessment of the risk. Those would be the terms I entered and agreed upon, surely written in the contract (though I expect not in this case).

Turns out though every Chamber is loaded. Oh well it just ensures I will be an actual test subject, I already had a 66.66666% chance right I’ll just let it go.

I might want some extra cash for it though. Risk compensation.

That is what comes to my own mind when I bring ethics into this facade of a safety trial.

Golly this is so much easier without Birdie on hand to refute us all down lol.

Also there is a massive difference, according it seems to many experts, most mainstream Politicians and especially members of the new Administration it seems, between Trump’s vaccine, which isn’t safe and you would be mad to take….

And Biden’s vaccine a (day really, but months of dust settling first) later.

Ask Kamala.

I read a study showing tin foil hat wearing is very effective for keeping away infectious diseases of all types.
Diseases carried by other humans anyway 😉

I always have a laugh when I see how non vaccinated people are being accused of murdering grandma.

I think grandma and grandpa already got killed off in the seniors home before the vaccines came out. I know my dad did, it turns out a health care worker who had covid and was asymptomatic was shuttled between seniors homes filling shifts and spreading covid.

Granted my dad was old and really just waiting to die before covid came so as harsh as it sounds it really didn't make his life much shorter. The actual disease only lasted a week before he succumbed the isolation from his family lasted 18 months and was perhaps the harshest thing you can do to a dying senior citizen. Isolate them in solitary for 18 months, til they're dead. No grandchildren.

If I was grandma and my grandbabies would kill me if I saw them or I could die alone and never see them guess what I'd choose.

if i have to get one, or decide to, or whatever, i'd hold out for that one for sure.....let's see what happens with it....im following it closely so i'll keep posting about it

i think it's gonna end up being the winner....even tho millions have already received the others available, they're not the most effective, so there's easily a chance a couple can come out ahead and work better.....
 
The department also reported 395 breakthrough hospitalizations in the state.


395 cases and 100+ died.....well that means there's WAY more breakthrough cases than 395

If they are total strangers then it's a statistic that doesn't look high to me.
