i suspect you're asking this to get me off track when i inevitably write something you can run with and continue to deflect. but here goes:

table 3 of the lancet paper shows the number of deaths, adjusted for population size, from previous pandemics. neither that paper nor your calculations appear to take into account number of people infected, which would seem relevant to me but i guess the variation in diagnostic techniques over this period of time would render any comparison meaningless.

the 1968, 1957, and 1918 estimates are based on excess deaths. the sources for the data values are provided in the text. the take home, as i have already said, is that, having applied their stats to make numbers comparable (and i'm sure you can debate their methods) this is the second most lethal pandemic in modern history. this is based on data from last may.

if you think it is incorrect you need to get in touch with the authors so they can submit an erratum to the lancet.

i debate the veracity of any unreferenced data. especially from people with an eye wateringly obvious agenda to downplay a crisis who've already demonstrated limited understanding of basic calculations.

i can't be fucked anymore. you obviously don't want to accept that this virus poses a genuine threat and you patronise everyone who thinks otherwise. your digging in and deflecting shows a complete lack of critical thinking or willingness to engage in other arguments. you routinely misrepresent the data you link to and other people's points to further your erroneous arguments.

if you post more disinformation on other areas i will challenge it but i'm done with this back and forth.

the bottom line is that without intervention this virus could have rendered a significant percentage of the working age population unable to work or working at impaired productivity for a protracted period. but you're convinced people's fear of it and the potential damage it could cause is overblown.

what does table 3 represent (hint.....where are these numbers of deaths restricted to?)

stop deflecting. the estimated tolls I gave you are pretty much middle of the range numbers for global tolls and are supported by a lot of studies, including your precious WHO and CDC.

It appears you don't know what the numbers in table 3 represent is and that is eye wateringly obvious. It is you that is unable to understand simple math. Try to display a scientific approach.

see that strain in califorina even worse than the UK strain. Lol america is going to fuck up the world at this rate if the strains mix together into the mega strain that does kill 100 million people with no vaccine to stop it

It would have to become at least 25 to 50 times more lethal for that to happen..... so its not going to happen.

I guess making variant viruses in kalifornia wasn't what Trump had in mind when he kept talking about bringing back manufacturing to the USA.
 
I looked up methylene blue, which I have some of, I was experimenting with it as a nootropic before I got COVID... looks like it has studies about being virucidal and effective against COVID, but possibly only in the presence of UV light? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
 
dumb cunt in nz did not isolate when told to had covid for over a week sending auckland into lockdown. They need to start sending these dumb cunts to jail and massive fines instead of doing nothing. Fucking typical shit though those dumb cunts in that hood never fucking listen to the rules.

yeah man they need to start flogging them as a punishment like they do in saudi arabia. and double the floggings if they are women, just cuz. fuck yeah saudi. they should also start throwing people in prison for a decade for posts on social media about this, also like saudi arabia. so much to learn from them.
 
The freedom lovers who keep asserting they know their rights rarely seem to acknowledge that other people (like restaraunt owners and staff) have rights that may come into conflict with their own.

Normal people realise that a compromise is necessary and think through the option that results in least harm to all. Which on this case would be masks or eating elsewhere.
 
By "their rights", they mean their right to do whatever they want whenever they want, regardless of the consequences to other people.

I mean ffs... you want to go to a place where you don't have to wear a mask, well probably almost every place in Texas is okay with that now. But instead you're going to spitefully try to ruin a bunch of peoples' lives because one place wants you to keep wearing a mask while there is still a pandemic happening? Just don't go. What a terrible thing to do... some people fucking suck.

Wait, the US got rid of the mask mandate?

We have to wear FFP2 masks everywhere, any public place, train stations, restaurants, and whatnod.
