First you said it was impossible because of republican legislative control in individual states. I pointed out that the states with the worst death rates are all democratic. Then we moved on to it being constitutionally impossible to perform whatever sort of lock-down is necessary to contain the virus. Either way, it can't really be mostly Trump's fault.
I think you misunderstand me and are (unintentionally) taking me out of context.
There were states that had lockdown and safer at home orders that were implemented by Democratic governors that were challenged, successfully, by Republican controlled state legislature.
The comment about me not believing it would be constitutional was solely in regards to your comment about a hard lockdown. What I was referencing was far less of, what I would consider, a “hard lockdown” that you mentioned, but as I said, I’m not sure what specifically a hard lockdown entails.
I’m by no means saying 100% of the blame lies with Trump, but it’s hard to argue his response wasn’t a significant contributing component.
