US Politics The 2020 Trump Presidency Thread

Completely a done deal. Even his lawyers are backing out now since they don't want to risk their reputation on that turd. Trump will be escorted away in about 60 days from now :)

Bye Bye!!!

Yeah. Honestly this is kinda like being sentenced to death, having exhausted absolutely all legal appeals, and going "well I still might just live because you never know... A meteorite might hit the prison and kill everyone but me!"

I suppose it's technically true, but you'll forgive me if I don't bother with an asterisk when I say you're a dead man. :p

Trump may not be officially done, but given what would have to happen for him to recover, I'm not adding any asterisks in calling Biden president elect.

But hey if you wanna keep hoping for the meteorite, by all means.

right! it's not like the current president of the united states carried out a years-long 'birther' campaign attacking obama's u.s. citizenship...

wait. nevermind.

alasdair

This. The idea that conservatives seem to toss around a lot that the right politely accepted Obama's win really blows my mind, considering how much he was attacked throughout his entire presidency (especially the first 4 years) in an attempt to delegitimize him. The birther conspiracy was the most blatant (and was heavily pushed by the current/outgoing president), but he was also accused of being a secret Muslim terrorist (the reason often being "but... but his middle name is Hussein for fuck's sake!"). The amount of propaganda and shit talking about Obama was intense, and still is. But now the right wants to act like this is the first time anyone has attacked a president and tried to undermine their legitimacy.

I hope all the trump supporters see what kind of guy this is. You cannot just up and fire such a high level employee. There are months of knowledge transfer needed. Trump is burning the country down slowly. This is only the beginning.

Yeah, I think Trump is realizing he has nothing to lose and he doesn't care what the consequences are anymore, all he cares about is his blind and careless obsession to not lose.

I hope $20,000/day to Giuliani is worth it for Trump. Has anyone heard if he plans on paying the 8 million dollars to proceed with the recount in Wisconsin?

The majority of the right didn't do this, whereas the majority of the left, Hollywood and the entire MSM spent Trump's entire first term: insulting him and his family, trying to get him removed from office, and generally being nasty to everyone that voted for him. Neither side was polite, but it blows my mind that lefties can't see how the right was polite relative to the left.

I'm sure he has enough zombies blindly listening to everything he says to rack up 8 million in donations.

Have you donated yet @dalpat077? ;)
Nope. Trying to find a site here that will fall for it. The USA crowd funding sites don't allow South Africans to open accounts (well that was the case the last time I checked anyway) (but if anybody knows differently feel free to let me know).

If I raised funds in South African Rand and given the current (and fucked) USD/ZAR exchange rate (R15.40 ZAR to $1 USD right now) though: I'd have to raise R123 200 000 ZAR just to cover the $8M USD mentioned above and that just for one case! Mind you: 10% of that figure is worth making the effort for let's face it!

Mind you: could be I'm not thinking this through right. If Trump doesn't manage to pull something out of the bag: in four years time the USD/ZAR exchange rate could be R1 ZAR to $1 USD (or better)! :ROFLMAO: Imagine a world where the Russian Ruble is worth more than the American Dollar! And they said it couldn't happen! Watch this space! Could be "coming to the greatest democracy near you"!

While I think everyone is entitled to an opinion on foreign politics, they aren't entitled to make political donations.

If you aren't American you have no business making donations to American political organizations.

It is in fact illegal for foreigners to donate to American political parties. I'm not sure about other political organizations but it should be.

Well we'll have to see about that all then won't we. In South Africa we have a saying. In Afrikaans it's "'n boer maak 'n plan" which roughly translated into English means "a (South African) farmer will always make a plan". Maybe better and more understandably put it's right up there with "where there's will there's a way". Wanna have a side bet that I'll not find a rabid Republican/Trump supporter (individual) (or corporation for that matter) in America to make the donation? I've been well trained by our very own politicians, for the last twenty six years, in the art of subversion and doing clandestine deals. So no worries about the laws. It'll all be fine. As another saying goes: "the end justifies the means".

Kind regards,

The (self appointed) Leader of the South African GOP Chapter. :ROFLMAO:

I'm sure you'd find a way too. I'm sure you could find a way to do all sorts of blatantly immoral things.

Jesus where do you get off making political donations to a country you aren't a citizen, or even a permanent resident of?

To me that seems really disgraceful.

Yip. Definitely the wrong side of the bed (or that time of the month?) (or both?).

Honey (no disrespect meant and I hope like fuck that you are a woman). If you think for one second that foreign funding hasn't found it's way into the coffers of BOTH parties well then I don't know what to say if that be the case. It'll be one of the very few times I'll be speechless. I will be without speech.

Shall we put it to the test? I'll bet you that if I click on that panhandling link of Biden's the payment processor will accept my card! Not that I have much. But I'm happy to fucking borrow money just to put it to the test! I ASSUME that'd be alright with you though (you know: given that just as long as it's a hindrance to Trump it's acceptable)? True transparent Democracy in action! And nothing irregular or disgraceful about that then either so we can be friends again!

Of course foreign money ends up in American politics. That's not my point.

What I'm attacking is that you think it's OK. That you're willing to engage in it yourself.

Well unfortunately for you: there's no way I could pull this off anyway let's be honest so time I get real. But hey: its the thought that counts (even although that's of use to no bugger).

Believe me: I need money more than PRESIDENT Trump does (sincere apologies Sir) (I am, however, but a call away though). So better I continue to try sort my own problems out. You lot have made yours (possibly). Sorry I couldn't do more. But I did my best with the only tools I had at my disposal!

You sure you need the money more? Trump has a lot of debts. :D

Problem is people keep giving him money. :p
As J. Paul Getty once said: "If you owe the bank $100 that's your problem. If you owe the bank $100 million, that's the bank's problem.".

I think President Trump is going to be just fine on this one wouldn't you say?

Probably. If nothing else he's like leader of a cult or church (assuming those are different), in that he will always be able to get his follows to give him money.

And somehow those same followers seem to see nothing inconsistent about him needing to ask for money and yet also being supposedly a mega wealthy and excellent businessman.

Oddly enough I have always known about the above quote. But in searching for its exact wording, in order to post it for your pleasure, I found these three (among others) quotes attributed to him:

"The meek shall inherit the Earth, but not its mineral rights."

"No one can possibly achieve any real and lasting success or 'get rich' in business by being a conformist."

"Whether we like it or not, men and women are not the same in nature, temperament, emotions and emotional responses."

Remind you of anyone?
