Is it any wonder that there's no adherence to science in politics?

Science involves following the most supported course of action at a given time using the information known at that time.

Which of course means as more information is uncovered, the course of action required changes.

But when it does, idiots call it a contradiction cause they want simple absolutes. They want there to be one correct course of action known from day one, that remains the same forever.

Are you a scientist? Science paid by the government can split the community in half so your odd definition can go out the window. What is with you calling people idiots and swearing when people don't think exactly like you do?
You do know there are doctors and actual scientists that see contradictions ? But those phd idiots know nothing compared to you[/QUOTE]

Was there a retort to my point somewhere in there? If so I must have missed it. All I read was "you're not a scientist, hypothetical scientists somewhere at sometime disagreed with you in someway therefore I'm right etcetc".

Doug Ford has declared we are officially in the second wave of COVID-19 as Ontario records 700 new cases yesterday.

I’m not going to get into everything I think about this pandemic. It’d be a novella by the time I’m finished. But I do have one reflection on it personally I’d like to share.

This virus, the state of the world as it is now, the way that everything’s come to a standstill or crashed and burned. The lack of help and resources; some still unavailable for so long, even as things open back up again. Opening back up again too soon, and everything the experts were saying is obviously what’s happening. Shutting down again, it’s obviously in the near future. The fucking lunacy people have displayed around this issue and the way it’s been politicized, propagandized. even weaponized, all the fucking ignorance towards it all.

I honestly am extremely stressed, bummed out, uncertain for the future, terrified of getting it because I’ve already been extremely sick this year and I’m being screened for autoimmune disease which I know I have for a fact (same shit as my dad just never talked to a doc before), and I’m compromised in my immunities due to a heavy crystal meth addiction. I have very little hope for the next decade. I think this is just the beginning for a lot of reasons.

I honestly am completely stuck in a place where the walls are closing in and the lights are going out in certain aspects of my life. First off it my addiction and mental health issues and the second issue is COVID-19. I don’t know how long I’ll stay stable in any sense where I am and I don’t know what the fuck I’m going to do if everything eventually goes to hell completely. Long term, I pay no credence to any hope anyone has because we don’t know what the effects of this are going to be. It’s either negative or more negative. The whole world is shutting down as we speak. All the measures we’ve taken to keep things going are failures for reasons obvious as why is the day alight, and here we retreat again into a dark place with a second wave sturdy in place. It’s gonna be a hell of a ride and I don’t want to be on it.

I’ll never forget in April how In felt when I was homeless in a detox with no treatments open although I wanted to go, shelters full and mostly shut down, stuck in that room isolated. Housing services were not answering their phones. I thought I was going to be hitting a park bench in COVID for certain. I got lucky. Really lucky and I’m so grateful for that that my life is okay right now. I can’t shake this bleak outlook for the future though and fear what this may do not just to my own life but everyone else’s.

Sick of Covid. It’s makes me sick inside thinking about how fucked up the world is now. It was before, but now it’s like being at deaths door. I don’t know what the fuck is going to happen with anything anymore.

My faith in the world has fallen aswell, Honestly people have become even more of assholes during this pandemic every one out of themselves flaunting lockdown etc spreading this shit more and more trying to escape managed isolations. Governments responding poorly. The elite bankers who have made trillions in printing money to governments. I know if i catch covid aswell it will probably kill me my heart is damaged from terrible life choices and heavy drug abuse along with genetics even food poisonings takes me close to my death bed with my heart almost failing.

The world is pretty cruel and the true nature of most people is getting exposed during this crisis. At first i thought covid would unite the world but that faded quickly and then i saw society become more assholes and selfish everyday and governments all going against each other no one is working together to make a vaccine all they care is about making it first to make themselves rich. Human greed is endless. With the massive build up of militaries aswell and more tensions everywhere in the world i fear the worst is yet to be seen and covid is the start of some terrible years ahead.

Will humans ever learn to be nice? i ponder this question or will ego drive us to the complete collapse of society. The patterns in history that are repeating the rise of racism nationalism in every country out for its own ready to kill each other on a hairs trigger over resources or land. Humans have failed to evolve in some aspects the same blood thirsty tribalism that wiped out many civilizations still strives today

Dr John Campbell discusses more about vitamin D3 and COVID, as will as epidemologic science, and in doing so accidentally doxxes Dr Fauci:

But seriously, People you need to be on Vitamin D3 in the thousands of units per day.

Dr John Campbell takes 2000IU (50mcg) himself, Dr Fauci even 6000IU (150mcg).

I guess thats the target range for adults, especially in colder areas, with less sun exposure and darker skin.

I myself am on 5000IU for more than half a year now.

There was questions actually

I blame our media. Every 2 minutes they are running a new scare story. Haven't you wondered why homeless junkies are not getting sick?

Yeah I do. It's because they're so invisible in my area their deaths haven't been getting recorded since January. Dont see it it must not be happening.

Here's some more info, Canadian news again but hey hey.

They also get covid en masse.

@Kara Kava

P.S. I was in fact, Homeless, with a capital H, at the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. I might know a thing or two how fucked up things are.

@Alex_1991 i know of 4 shelters with no outbreaks. The homeless i talk to daily talk of the overdoses, not covid. Sorry you were homeless but doesn't make you an expert. Turn off your tv if you're that worried. Our fear mongering media won't help

What does that prove exactly? You can have and be spreading the virus and have no symptoms.

Besides, if I were still homeless I wouldn't have been worrying about covid either, I'd have been worrying about getting heroin. That doesn't mean covid isn't a concern though.

It had to do what he brought up so why jump on my leg every time I post? For a moderator are you trying to piss me off further knowing I'm struggling? Seems so and not just me noticing.
Go try to screw up someone else's sobriety and why tf you a moderator? Don't reply i really don't care.
I can see you red af mad and it's kinda funny.
Grow up

I'm not trying to screw up your sobriety. But this is the current events area of the site. If your feel like people disagreeing with your political views is bad for your recovery I highly recommend you avoid this part of bluelight.

I have avoided ceps in the past for exactly that reason.

The news that U.S. President Donald Trump and his wife Melania have COVID-19 has so far been met with mainly brief well wishes—and some veiled criticism—from other world leaders.

In one of the more fawning responses, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Trump via telegram, “I am sure that your inherent vitality, vigor and optimism will help you overcome the dangerous virus,” according to the Kremlin, as reported in the New York Times.

This is incredibly interesting:

The major genetic risk factor for severe COVID-19 is inherited from Neanderthals

Hugo Zeberg & Svante Pääbo
Nature (2020)Cite this article

A recent genetic association study1 identified a gene cluster on chromosome 3 as a risk locus for respiratory failure upon SARS-CoV-2 infection. A new study2 comprising 3,199 hospitalized COVID-19 patients and controls finds that this is the major genetic risk factor for severe SARS-CoV-2 infection and hospitalization (COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative). Here, we show that the risk is conferred by a genomic segment of ~50 kb that is inherited from Neanderthals and is carried by ~50% of people in South Asia and ~16% of people in Europe today.

Risk of Severe Coronavirus Linked to Neanderthal Genes From 60,000 Years Ago

TESSA KOUMOUNDOUROS
1 OCTOBER 2020

Long ago, in the south of Europe, modern humans and Neanderthals had at least one encounter that resulted in children. While dalliances between our two species are now well documented, no one could possibly have foreseen how grimly they would impact our world 60,000 years later.

A resulting stretch of Neanderthal DNA spread far through our populations as it was passed down through the generations, even while the Neanderthals themselves became extinct. Around 50 percent of the people in South Asia and 16 percent of people in Europe now carry this length of DNA, which scientists have now linked to the most severe form of COVID-19.

According to the new research, those who have this genetic inheritance are three times more likely to require mechanical ventilation once they contract the virus, explains evolutionary anthropologist Hugo Zeberg from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany.

Scientists have been scrambling to understand what makes some people more vulnerable to SARS-COV-2 than others. The disease has now taken over a million human lives.

While pre-existing underlying conditions and contributing social inequalities explain a large part of our vulnerability, there still stubbornly remains a significant portion of people who are young and healthy yet inexplicably end up with severe respiratory problems, whereas their equally healthy peers only experience the mildest symptoms.

Zeberg and geneticist Svante Pääbo from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology in Japan analysed genetic data from 3,199 hospitalised COVID-19 patients and saw certain gene variants on chromosome 3 are found together in the population more often than if they were random mutations.

Such a long length of DNA, spanning six genes and adding up to 49.4 thousand bases being passed down together, suggests this variation was introduced into the human genome together, meaning it was inherited.

Previous research linked this gene region to patients that had a severe reaction to SARS-CoV-2, requiring hospitalisation.

So Zeberg and Pääbo investigated our extinct human relatives to see where this length of genes came from. They found none of these specific gene variants in the Denisovan genome, and a few of them were found in two Neanderthals from Siberia. But a Neanderthal from Croatia shared the most similarities.

These results are "compatible with this Neanderthal being closer to the majority of the Neanderthals who contributed DNA to present-day people," the researchers wrote.

Zeberg and Pääbo calculated that it was very unlikely this combination of genes came from a shared ancestor of both humans and Neanderthals, meaning they were introduced when our two species interbred.

We don't yet know why this snippet of chromosome 3 increases the risk of severe illness.

"This is something that we and others are now investigating as quickly as possible," explained Pääbo.

The team suspect that in the past these genes may have proved an advantage for some people - perhaps against another pathogen. A previous study hinted Neanderthal DNA may have provided protection against ancient viruses.

This may explain why this now unfortunate variant of chromosome 3 is prevalent in some populations, like in Bangladesh, where 63 percent of people have it, but it's almost absent in others, such as Africa.

This distribution could explain why people of Bangladeshi descent in the UK are twice as likely to die from COVID-19 compared to the rest of the population.

"It is striking that the genetic heritage from Neanderthals has such tragic consequences during the current pandemic," said Pääbo.

Last week, another team identified a potential immune mechanism that may also contribute to severe coronavirus cases.

However these genetic pieces of the coronavirus puzzle end up fitting together, it is important to remember that environmental factors also play a large role in whether we even contract the disease in the first place - and that's something we have control over today.

This research was published in Nature.

Seems to be like the richest people all doubled their wealth this year billionaires. They are scamming the fucking world for trillions while many people have no jobs lose their homes the top 100 in the world all doubled their money or more. Jeff bezos over 188 billion zuckerberg over 100 billion now elon musk almost at 100 billion. They need to steal all the money back from these rich bastards and feed people with it.
