Social Justice Jacob Blake shot seven times by white cop, paralyzed, may never walk again.

Bottom line. Nobody should ever be shot by a police officer in the back, as long as they haven't attacked yet, especially not when the weapon they are accused of using is a knife, ESPECIALLY if the one shooting him FOLLOWED in such close proximity.... Stand back and shoot him in the knee if you rly need to shoot him.

Just another sad story of nobody doing the thing they should have been doing....

It can also be argued that the officers felt he would get in the vehicle and run them or the pedestrians that were also in the street

The knife issue could have been some kind of miscommunication. He actually told the officers he had a knife. This could have been misunderstood as he had it on him on him. Or he could have actually had it on him, and dropped it, on the floorboard, where it was found, when shot... He might have just been trying to get in the car to leave, too. And then he had kids in the car. What was he going to do, lead police on a chase? With his kids who he's a good dad to in the car?

I'm just curious since there are so many experts on the internet, where did you receive training in firearms and policing?

Sarcasm aside, I seem to recall learning you shoot to "kill" in these situations, especially when dealing with a violent suspect who could very well grab a gun and shoot you in the head with his last breath. Ideally, you're a samurai with weapons and can shoot a key point or two to disable the subject. But count the number of seconds from the time the man gets off the ground from wrestling with officers, a subject with a history of violence against both police officers (so this is a pattern) and you are a police officer, and people, to when the shots were fired. How much time do you have to decide what exactly is happening next, with everything that had happened?

This is pretty much where I'm at, as well, of possible scenarios. I truly believe he intended to leave and the knife issue had the officer on edge - purely my own speculation right now.

Just a friendly reminder and perspective check: cops killing white men does not get any media attention and happens all the time. I'm sure not as much as my black brothers, but hey, it happens all the time as well and gets ZERO media coverage. The media doesn't give a fuck about the state of our country and only want views for $$$.

What gets THE MOST views and reactions? Cops killing black people right now.

I have not seen the video this thread is about nor do I want to. I'm surely not supporting cops or racism or anything.... just the little perspective fairy dropping in....

Don't believe everything you see in the media or how it is edited/portrayed. There is always a true story behind everything. Media only cares about outraging people the most, not the actual story.

I follow the elected official's and sheriff's news conferences, that's the source.

The other side of the coin, is that the media can cut through some of the bullshit the elected officials say. So it's about context, not blindness faith in any source.

You ' learn to kill' in what situations exactly? When faced with a man walking towards his car?

You're obviously the expert in these matters so what would you have done? Fucked him up good and proper? Ooh, that appears to be what those coppers did - without reason.

And never mind all that shit you spout about getting off the ground and wrestling with officers, this is irrelevant because they pumped 7 shots at his back. The fuckin heros ..

🧙‍♂️

I honestly want to know what he would have to say during these times. Probably some weird ass shit like he always did. What a strange, evil little man....

I would pay good $$$ to watch what he was like on LSD or see him brainwashing the other kids was like

obviously from some weird vicarious fetish I have, I don't idolize the fucker don't worry, but I have honestly been fairly fascinated by the whole cult/murders and everything. Always wondered if he truly brainwashed them with LSD and shit or if they were already murderous psychos before they met.

It's easy to sit back and watch video, and think we'd do things differently.

This is another video where a subject brawled with officers, like this man did, and then went to his car...

Yea, there are studies out on this, and white people are actually more likely to be shot when considering all of the police interactions, and violence committed by the demographic (black vs white, whites more likely to be shot when taking into account all interactions and patterns of criminality/behavior). Some other study, not sure if it's been repeated, or if there isn't some other explanation, shows that cops shoot faster when it's a white suspect, than if it was a black suspect, and black cops shoot faster in general. I would imagine many whites have a rather strongly in-built "anti-racist" action-motivation, due to the sensitivity of race in this country. They're more likely to give them the benefit of the doubt or space to act out, because they're perceiving racism or natural racism within themselves, which they're attempting to actively "correct" for like all white people always are. I will try to locate the sources...

I'll tell ya, though, people are more afraid of being perceived racist than their extinction (they fear ostracism, from a perceived 'group', and racism they believe to be a great sin against the group, and in-fact, Europe and the West is "dying", declining, because of such sentiment). At least if a cop shoots a white guy by mistake he's not racist, the greatest capital sin in the current year.

Just curious.... how many people are commenting on this and other related threads are not from the US?

I think a lot of foreigners don't understand just how many fucking guns there are in this country.... it's dangerous to be a cop...

again, NOT COMMENTING on this video that I have chosen not to watch, just in general....

and fuck why do I feel like I need to say this? FUCK cops and FUCK racism...

Oh we DO understand, but we cannot comprehend. To us, guns are lethal weapons that should only be deployed as a last resort in outstanding circumstances, as opposed to toys being brandished by petulant children with a superiority complex and a misplaced sense of justice...

OK... well thanks but unthanks I watched the video...

I'm sorry but if cops already have lethal/nonlethal weapons pointed at you, are barking commands and you STILL ignore them, walk to your vehicle and open the door like that THEY ARE GOING TO FUCKING SHOOT YOU.

A VEHICLE IS CONSIDERED A DEADLY WEAPON, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S SURROUNDED BY COPS TELLING YOU TO FUCKING STOP. DOESN'T EVEN MATTER IF HE HAD A WEAPON. THAT'S JUST HOW THE LAWS WORK HERE.

RIP to that poor man.... but I'm sorry if you live in the US and don't know that basic fucking logic YOU'RE GONNA GET SHOT no matter what color you are....

Honestly from that angle it also looks like he's reaching for something under his belt..... just what I saw....

if a cop has a fucking tazer at me you'd be damn fucking right to believe I'd be on the fucking ground without him having to use it or pull out his lethal weapon, doesn't matter if I'm innocent or not, YOU FOLLOW POLICE ORDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AM I SAYING THIS WAS JUSTIFIED??? NO, I'M NOT.... ALL I'M SAYING IS HE MADE SOME FATAL MISTAKES AND MISJUDGEMENT OF THE SITUATION. RIP to that poor man and whoever was there to witness it. I fucking HATE this shit.

IF A COP TELLS YOU TO FUCKING DROP YOUR PANTS.... DROP YOUR FUCKING PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this isn't fucking the UK where cops don't carry guns!!! THIS IS AMERICA FOR BETTER OR WORSE WE HAVE DIFFERENT FUCKING RULES HERE.

just my honest 2 cents

YOU CAN TELL FROM THE COPS OWN BODY LANGUAGE THAT HE WASNT FUCKING SCARED FOR HIS LIFE.

I 100% agree with you. And I'm no police expert by any means.... but I know they follow very specific directions when encountered with a situation like this. I do not see this as cold blooded murder at all.

Excessive? Sure.
Justified? Arguable, up to a jury
Murder? No, the dude made some VERY poor decisions with a fuck load of cops pointing shit at him

I don't give a FUCK what color, creed, sex or how big your dick is. IF A COP TELLS YOU TO STOP. YOU FUCKING STOP.

end of story

I'm REALLY fucking tired of all this shit running the news. IT'S COMMON FUCKING SENSE how NOT to get killed by the police. Rule #1-1000 = FOLLOW THEIR COMMANDS

I mean I'm an ok shot but by no means have the sort of training that a police officer has with those weapons and I'm confident I could hit a thigh or shoulder from 25 ft. That dodge isn't more than 17' long

That's kinda impressive, maybe not.... I certainly suck ass at shooting pistols. I remember the first time I went to the range I could barely hit a target at 25 ft maybe scored 10% hits....

AR with a $5000 scope and all sorts of fancy gadgets? lmao I was fucking call of duty that day with that thing hitting 100m targets on the first try

pistols, though.... I'm fairly sure a large portion of BL does not understand how difficult they are to accurately fire (even at close range)

Side by side comparison

I haven't even begun to wrap my head around how this kid, after shooting three and murdering two, with a rifle in his hand and goes to surrender to police as the crowd yells out and identifies him as the shooter, is not even questioned or detained and allowed to walk away.

And, the best we can come up with for justification for the police officer who shot Jacob Blake is that he may have been reaching for a knife.
