Social Justice Jacob Blake shot seven times by white cop, paralyzed, may never walk again.

some people seem pretty happy this guy was shot. it's hard for me to relate to that.

"if he had just done what they said this wouldn't have happened"

maybe. there are plenty of cases where black men cooperated with police and still ended up dead. i can't really imagine what it must be like to be a black man, to be pulled over (or whatever) having done nothing wrong and to still fear for my life... i'm guessing that a lot of people saying this scumbag deserved to be shot are, like me, white, so they don't really have to worry about that day to day.

and what else? if the cops hadn't shot him in the back 7 times this wouldn't have happened either.

alasdair

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY has said 7 shots is ok. Should a man with a knife, being told by the cops to put the knife down as he walks away, that should be ok? Anytime? And, if the info on the outstanding warrant is correct, the term suspect is accurate, if you really feel like arguing words.

nutty didn't know he had a warrant when he made the comment, neither did I. I was basing it off our knowledge at the time. Him saying suspect isn't as big a deal as this idea that cops get a pass for shooting people because they've disobeyed an order, or they've broken a law, or they're attempting to escape.

have you guys ever watched a single episode of COPS? People run all the damn time. They pursue them, call backup, have them exit the car at gunpoint from a safe distance. No one ever dies because if the person grabs for a gun it's obvious and they're already ready to fire at him.

The default fucking choice for cops when dealing with black people shouldn't be to shoot them. There's several other ways to deal with a situation to minimize harm to everyone involved.

They didn't even attempt to bring him down before they got to the car! Taser? Baton? Fucking shoot the tires out so he can't get away. You know SOMETHING other than shooting him seven god damned times in the back.

Interesting how you automatically use the word "suspect" when referring to him. Especially when there's no reason to believe he is or ever was a suspect in any crime. The eyewitness who heard "drop the knife" also said he never saw a knife.

If you resist arrest and don't do what the cops ask you you've just automatically turned into a suspect. It isn't that hard to figure out.

Same if the officers knew who he was and had a warrant for his arrest, or had seen him do something illegal.

Fucking shoot the tires out so he can't get away.

What if the bullets ricocheted and hit the children?

Probably a bigger chance of that happening if they shoot at the tires which are near the ground.

Nope. He'll become a spokesperson for the BLM and will get millions of dollars for talking about how racist cops are. Pretty sure he's already got enough in donations to pay for his medical bills anyways.

His GoFundMe hit $1,000,000.00 at 2PM today. Bittersweet though, to be paralyzed for life, in addition to any other organ or gastrointestinal damage that is almost guaranteed to be a chronic issue now too. Unless it comes out that there was actually a gun, there is no justification for what happened, especially with the three children in the car.

I've noticed the atmosphere of boiling anger has greatly reduced and the crowd size is much smaller tonight. I'm guessing the fact that he's alive and a millionaire now takes a lot of the sting away for some.

Edit: Things were going much quieter tonight until an armed group showed up, not sure if it's boogaloo or local residents, conflict, gunfight and I just watched 3 people get shot and one was fatal for sure to the head, one to the chest and one's arm looked half blown off. What do these armed groups think they're going to accomplish besides agitating and inciting more needless violence?

What if someone doesn't have a gun but says they do and acts like they're getting one? Are the cops just supposed to wait to see if the person actually pulls a gun out and shoots them?

Holy shit!

That's a good question, honestly. Besides the narrative from the person I quoted that's been used heavily, at least locally, which I can't verify - that would change things, I'll be honest. I don't know how much better the police officer could have handled the situation, in that case. It's definitely going to come down to these tiny nuances, and it's an incredible shame body cameras aren't budgeted for this police department until 2022.

Do you have more info about people being shot? Was it people trying to stop rioters or what? Is this in Wisconsin?

Yes, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. There was a group of armed civilians that were getting into it with protesters. Tensions rose severely when protesters lit two orange cones on fire and a dumpster fire in the road in an attempt to stop police from continuing to push them back and the armed civilians put the fire out. Eventually, the armed civilians were pushing the protesters away, trying to get them to leave. Gunshots were heard down the road and I saw someone was on the ground. What I can't figure out is who started the shooting, but everyone identified one of the armed civilians as the shooter. The group started chasing him, and he shot one person in the head and one person in the arm. I did just hear 2 shooters were in custody, and a potential third shooter as well, as there was more gunfire after the police arrived - I didn't witness this portion but heard there was gun shots exchanged between, I'm assuming, the protesters and police. I didn't see the first person that was shot clearly, but I believe all 3 shot were protesters.

Phew. At least it was only the protesters that were shot and no innocent civilians.
Just watching the dirty thieving protesters robbing a mans store then beating him unconscious when he tries to stop them.
hopefully more protesters get shot before this all ends.

Thanks for the info. I think this is going to happen more since the politicians aren't doing anything about their cities being torn to bits. I'm afraid that this is only the beginning.

I found some raw video of the portion I'm talking about after he shoots one protester and then the protesters start chasing him.

I don't understand how someone can be so heartless. These are human lives we're talking about. What have they done to you that causes so much hate?

Seriously? I'm guessing it's that people are increasingly getting fed up with shit like this...

dirty thieving protesters robbing a mans store then beating him unconscious when he tries to stop them.

Who are the real "heartless" people here? Rioters that are destroying everything and beating people unconscious or people trying to protect their city?

Okay, let me rephrase better. What have they done that would want someone to cause actual death and murder to them? I can understand the anger, but not to that extreme.

Video of the shooter, I'm guessing, prior to the shooting and the National Guard telling telling them how much they appreciate them.

This is what I couldn't see, how it all started.

Good. This is the only thing that is going to make these rabid animals think twice. It's clear that he didn't want to shoot anyone because he tripped while he was trying to get away from them, but they kept rushing him leaving him no choice but to defend himself. I'm really failing to see how you think it's the shooter that's in the wrong here. What do you propose he do, just stand there and let them beat him and take his gun away?

Context. They were chasing him because of the first shooting, of which I'm still not 100% sure how and what happened, even with the video I posted.

It really depends upon what happened in the first shooting, I can barely make it out in the video. It may very well be even the first shooting was self defense, I just can't tell for sure with the video. Can you make anything out of it?

Sorry, I missed the first one you posted... I can't see shit really (other than one dead motherfucker), but he was definitely justified in using lethal force in the second vid. I'm sure the information will come out.
