I watched 2 episodes of Midnight Gospel with my friend last night... holy fuck, that show is right on. I was absolutely riveted and found it to be among the greatest things I've ever experienced on television or any media. I watched the last 2 episodes of the season. The last one, where he and his mother talk about the parent child relationship, and how to be a good person, and such, was so indescribably powerful and proignant. Then I found out afterwards that it was animated to audio from an actual interview he did with his mom on his podcast, shortly before she died of cancer. I was tripping... rarely have I ever been so moved and awed.

Aw man, you only watched those too? I think the last one is the strongest, so maybe you set the bar to high if you wanna watch the rest, but I highly recommend it anyway ! It's a wonderful show for sure

Well yeah, it was just what my friend turned on the TV, I had no choice. Gonna start watching from the beginning tonight.

Holy shit bat man !

Thanks for the tip, on my play list for sure after watching just a few minutes of E1.

Give Bojack Horseman a try guys :)
It only really gets into the real Bojack vibe from season 2, maybe 3, but after that it's literally brilliant episode after brilliant episode. It's about a famous but depressed horse, it's incredibly deep, funny, detail oriented and imo one of the greatest things ever made on television.

I think the stories of Mt Shasta being earths root chakra and home to an underground Lemurian city might be true guys.

I am camping in the forest maybe 15 miles from my shasta, and spent the last 3 nights on the mountain.

One morning I went up as far as you can drive and felt some weird/strong energy for a while.

Lots of seemingly transient/homeless people just living in the woods around here it seems. Perhaps I will join them
Weird.

Have any of you watched Howl's Moving Castle? Wow, what a trippy movie. Super recommend it.

I love that movie, but my favorite from Miyazaki is and always will be Princess Mononoke. Spirited away is pretty good too.

Going to revisit edibles again for a more natural trip since more lsd would probably just leaving me feeling drained and the only stuff is bulk liquid which doubled in price ffs due to the unforeseen shortage of these supplies into the country.

Hopefully i can manage to beat the anxiety of the weed again after pushing myself through smoking copious amounts but i have waited two weeks for the tolerance to drop again to get more psychedelic effects of the cannabis.

Yeah those ones are my faves too! I've watched them both so many times, and I only just saw Howl's Moving Castle for the first time the other day, so it's still really fresh.. but yeah Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are so so good. I love the message in Princess Mononoke, it actually changed my life in a small way. And Spirited Away is just so detailed and rich, and just a bit spooky. I love it.

I don't think I've seen a Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli movie I was disappointed with.

The book it was based on is a short read, my wife lent it to me on a plane ride and I finished it in a day. I liked it better than the Ghibli film personally, especially when dubbed in English with Christian Bale as Howl... not how I imagined his voice lol.

My favorite Miyazaki film is most definitely Nausicca of the Valley of the Wind, with Castle in the Sky being a close second.

@Cream Gravy? Yeah the dubbed voices felt a bit disjointed in there. Maybe it would be more fun to watch in Japanese with English subs.

I'll have to watch Nausicca again. I got half way through and was interrupted and then forgot to finish it.

Fuck. yes. That movie is so epic, it's also my favorite Miyazaki. Princess Mononoke is also wonderful. I haven't seen Castle in the Sky actually. My girlfriend is really into Miyazaki, she basically introduced me to the whole collection, but it's not the easiest thing to find them online anymore.

Really? Somehow I did not notice that, is that recent? Last time we were looking for Miyazaki we could hardly find anything.

@Xorkoth yeah in my territory anyways, and I think they're up in the USA netflix too. They've been up maybe a couple months? No sure how long they'll be around, so I'm taking advantage of it.

Between my wife and I we have most of his films on DVD. Two copies of Princess Mononoke even lol. I also have the soundtrack on my computer somewhere.

I hate Spirited Away though it scared the crap outta me when it came out. Still gives me the creeps well into adulthood hahah.

Yeah no, we don't have anything but his first film (Castle of Cagliostro) on Netflix right now in the USA :( it's a decent one but not nearly as good as his later films.
