im not sure, was it because of something specifically said within the meme or the meme itself? I see nothing intrinsically wrong with the format.

This is something I realized could happen and was worried that because we have "returning users" and "thematic memes"... this one came across as "uh probably too much" but I am a Senior Moderator overlooking Mods' shoulders. We are experiencing mod burnout, particularly from many people's (*mine too*) shenanigans in the COVID thread, I'm sure. It would have helped if I had mental health meds like hypnotic bzd's instead of having to continue tapering after the "covid panic meltdown of planet earth 2nd only to legit global warming if it's happening" if you don't believe in it. I don't gain a personal "feel good" by making anyone change their mind man, I just believe in it, that's all. You do you.

I am worried that like, there's things I can't post just because I'm me, and I'm alright w/ it because I don't need all the big words. But it's unfair when it happens to regular BL'ers and as much as ya'll love to hate on me whenever it's cool (and hey life is hard man if it helps you cope and keep being your best self it's not like my whole life is BL rest assured) I'd rather you be good to wifey, the kids, hubbie, whomever you have/don't have at home because a lot of people are getting sick and life is short man.

If you want I can spearhead a moderator overview into this meme. There's no reason to believe due to mod overwork, stress, etc. that mods are seeing 100% of content and inactivity at this point is due to negligence. We can also give nova an official warning for "known racist thematic memes" that we're actively, actively trying to discourage (content vs form, association vs literal message, is a very fine line with memes and content and original artist intention is lost; can never be known philosophically: who do we trust? our liberal hearts or our conservative brains that know better?)

I'm quite conflicted on how to deal with this because I can't see the "anti-Biden meme anti-racist take" on this (but my interpretation of artist intention, form, impression, overall message it has on BL can be WRONG and totally misguided or so western-peace-loving-world that perhaps I can't imagine what effect it's having on the rest of 'Murrka, World, etc.) as being... bad or malevolent but... I originally IMMEDIATELY thought of this incident with you, the connotation it sends to not immediately censor it...

but you know, me immediately JUMPING THE GUN and immediately censoring things received such an ass-raping I decieded, hey, S. mods will play the role of cautious cool cucumber if the masses demand it. I'd rather make a community happy via 1 person than make 1 person happy and upset the community even if I value every individual equally in this weird PLUR sense now.

I have to go do mundane OCD cleaning rituals and basic CH bitch work so please don't hate on me for not immediately doing anything about it. Surely there'll be some "mod oversight" into the actions against you, and not against nova for this "similarity".

If you have reason to believe nova is being racist/etc/fanatical and had bad intentions behind posting this you can PM me. I've always had nothing like that in their interactions with me. At least coming from my perspective. I'm open-minded to your interpretation and wish you well during these troubling covid-19 times man. I know you must be trying your best to keep your head together. <3

And Daisy I truly hope that you know your free speech zone is safe here within reason of any average, new, random, old-school, new-school, accepted or PARIAH (lounge pariah clubbbbb2020 when do we get to start round 2? can I donate my vote to DAISY? or perhaps dopeM? can I get 3 votes and donate them all to dopem daisy and DG? only LOUNGE MODS/gamemaster gets to decide! I don't think that's me is it) - I want everyone's free speech, opinions to be safe/welcome here as long as it's not blatant racism/hatred/BLUA breaking that falls beyond the pale of comparison of the things I've seen over the years, and if it's offensive/not acceptable to staff, I'm probably going to weigh towards staff 99% of the time and especially always if I'm alone in dissenting opinions for whatever reason because the homogeneity of a community like this is more important in a "group consensus" than "eternal conflicts".

If YOU wanna delete them brosky go for it. I think it's a fair point to raise and I'd feel the same way and be just as STOIC about it at this point in my life for the sake of not having "personalized invisible/silent rules" on posters that seem pervasive/impossible to express a LEGITIMATE OPINION and then a meme we may not agree with but want recorded into the political meme record of BL2020 coronavirus edition.

This is a special thread for a lot of people and we're going to leave the discussion public unless sr staff are like CPT NO WHATTT. Because normally that happens now a days.

But the transparency was also craved by the community regarding how we handle "s mod actions/inactions over hesitation" so here's your transparency. Just my initial thoughts.

I have to go relax on a good benzo because after 36 hours of near constant unconsciousness from what I presume to be covid-19 but had no other life threatening symptoms I'm kind of thankful. Likely was most intense flu of my life.

Also legit if this effected me I think the transparency would help in my understanding and acceptance of the mod approval process. If you are truly reformed, want to not stir shit up, and have truly grown as an individual like I think/wanna believe you have, I'd rather you see this on "our public/private side as much as possible" to have a better understanding how complex issues like these are resolved.

We've had some complicated issues, staff-side, user-side, or staff-user side over the years that I can remember. There's no need to drag up the past at this point that isn't relevant to this current discussion (because it'll lead to infractions and shut down from other people I'm 99% sure): please keep this off the public forums guys. But I realize it, I realize it's better to not leave a pink elephant unmentioned in the room (someone else will say something Dostoevsky style normally more inebriated).

Any mods that are not deemed "impartial" don't have to participate no matter what their feelings/emotions are but I see both sides of the sword on this one and legit am slightly more concerned for the "end-user freedom" than I am the "status quo" AT THE MOMENT, I can obviously be swayed by deeply logical arguments from both sides of the aisle.

I want to give ya'll some opportunity to voice true feelings without the need of hysterics, exaggeration (and please know I am going to listen and will want to see this through YOUR GUYS' perspectives, because this is a forum I want to make as balanced, logical and fair for any ideology that is posting WITHIN the BLUA/CEP guidelines). But I'm also going to try to analyze it from both sides of the aisle to remain objective, but I believe I know how distasteful MANY of my opinions are in CEP (perhaps to Daisy specifically) = there's no sense in 1 person enjoying free speech if everyone doesn't get it when they are being honest and open about how they feel regarding current events and politics in the way they feel isn't breaking the rules.

And if standards change over time in a way that seem, but not are, discriminatory towards 1 user, a group of users that are friends, a group of users with close/tangibly similar ideologies despite not being friends, that's still not what BLUELIGHT is about.

I'm going to go ahead think "looking into this is a fair first step in what may be a long and confusing historical analysis over just two posts, time, and perhaps mod shifts, mod perspective shifts, how society/media/culture are changed into being more accepting of "anti-racism deep-minded comedy/parody/works of fiction" because it's the juiciest to use the "other political ideologue's language" to construct logical arguments that kind of shoot holes in "original intentions of the masses" even if their road is paved to hell with good intentions and pillaged Euro-gold from WWII.

If you think this is a non-problem and want me to allow you to say "this was no problem" communicate with JessFR, get a feeling for how this should proceed, make a formal statement that you know won't make me feel "this is some bs" because I'm sure you guys can, at least to get me to contemplate both sides.

In the event I am too torn between BOTH sides there's *always* the admins you guys can talk to, who totally don't see eye to eye with me, but I don't have to give them all the issues to deal with. Maybe we can all work this out here and not get angry at anyone.

So far NO ONE has been infracted for a recent post, if anyone was for something similar we may be looking into overturning it for the record's sake or maybe we can downgrade it to a non-expiring infraction if that's all that we were handing out at the Pool that day. Most of the icicles melted.

Quite frankly I don't recall who infracted/reported it, found it offensive, who didn't, who thought whatever DopeM posted was OK/not OK and this information is NOT to leak to the public obviously staffers.

We're just going to have an open and honest communication dialogue in the here and now. At this point I'd rather see DopeM's be overturned than this one recent meme get taken down for... at least 10% factual accuracy regarding how this will play out in 2020. This is speculative, valuable instead of "evaluative, retrospective, pure art or only special warnings for analogous future experiences" in nature.

Not every political meme reader will get that. Not all of them will see eliminating Biden as the worst thing for Sanders. Even fewer are going to see eliminating Biden as the worst thing for Trump and pals.

I don't think this may even have a politically motivated ideologue behind it but just 110% crassly parodying US political life.

K seriously, real life return to ocd cleaning behavior and depression from having to be agoraphobic and ocd cleaning from *PARANOID LOCKDOWN* without any good drugs because potentially lungsfuckedforlifecovid19thxxxx :|
