I don't think anyone who supports communism or socialism believes they shouldn't have to work. They just believe their labor should be valued appropriately and that everyone should receive an adequate standard of living.
I don't support communism though, because I'm not sure that power vacuum lends itself well to human nature. I do support "democratic socialism", as in, using taxes to pay for stuff that benefits the taxpayer instead of wars and corporations. I think capitalism is a robust system that, if safeguarded carefully, probably allows the greatest degree of personal freedom and ability to live comfortably. The current American brand of capitalism is NOT this.
What we are calling "socialism" today that is being campaigned for by Sanders and some others isn't even socialism, it's just an attempt to right the ship we're on and quit paying the people that drilled holes in our ship to drill more holes in our ship.
