I hope the creepy crawlies go away soon. Fuck opiates, I say. Can't believe I forgot that lesson. Well I think I'm gonna try to go to the gym, I haven't really felt up for it but it would probably really help.
Hope they do to. I've been clean for about ten years at this point including cigarettes but holy fuck, I up and bought a pack about a week ago and felt like I drug my lungs behind a Hemi for a couple of miles of dirt road. What the fuck was I thinking.

Lewis was one of the Freedom Riders. (He rode buses during the civil rights movement to protest segregation in the US. Some of those buses were fire-bombed.) He has a scar on head from being beaten during a peaceful protest. He was in the thick of it. He’s the real deal.

Good point and I've thought about that before, too. Ideally, the point of society is to provide the best life for the people as we can. So if there comes a point where we can have machines performing the menial tasks, and we can produce enough that way to have enough resources to provide a good life for the people, then it would make no sense to not provide that good life. If the result of that is that there is no need for the people to slave away for 40 hours a week, it would be nonsensical to invent some way to make people work 40 hours a week or else be punished.

The R party primarily wants their guns. This is a huge, huge sticking point. They see the Dems as being anti-guns. IF Dems went PRO-gun rights, PRO-saving planet earth, I just can't imagine they'd lose.
And, seriously, face it: The Dems were not the cheerleaders of gay rights. Many were against marriage inequality. They jumped into the Pride Parade to garner votes and we all know it.

CH, you keep moving the goalposts of this conversation. All we are trying to say is, why do you think it's okay that our society is organized such that it encourages extreme wealth disparity? Why do you think it's okay that the minimum wage is far below a living wage? I agree with a lot of what you're saying regarding how we're destroying the ecosystem, but it's beside the point. You're acting like a society focused on spreading the wealth more evenly necessitates ignoring environmental problems and a bunch of other stuff. In fact, endless profit is a big part of what has created an out of control environmental situation.
No one is talking about everyone living like kings at the expense of the environment. We're talking about no one (or as few as possible anyway) unnecessarily living in poverty. I don't understand what advocating for medicare for all has to do with ecological collapse?
