The 2019 Trump Presidency Thread

i wonder what the chances are if all the low iq trump voters would start a modern day american civil war vs the democrats if he was impeached. Probably very low but not impossible of happening. i think it he will be found not guilty and win a second term with even more votes.
I have to admit this is my general scope as well, as far as current politics. Interesting you brought it up. This point of view is often overlooked, I feel.

I try not to confuse my opinions with what I 'see', but... there is a lot of hope for rejuvenation. I'm afraid our political proceedings are getting in the way of that. With a country so divided in black and white and red and blue a lot of people are pissed. Their ability to rationalize what to do and overcome is testing the capacity of their human spirit. All it seems we have in common is something that is very persistent, easy enough to relate to, but so many of us find the idea of expressing what it is equivalent to the price of costing us everything.

I'm more concerned about the potential mass Leftist breakdown when Trump wins re-election.

LOL they'll understand it. I've been spoon feeding them reality for a while from a *very objective standpoint on my behalf* and I get that he's going to get re-elected. I don't even want him to, but I see it coming.

There won't be a "Leftist breakdown". If we didn't all get out over global warming nothing will do it trust me on this.

A trump victory is not inevitable. It would be foolish to think so with elections having proven so difficult to predict.

That said, it's equally foolish to be certain that he'll lose.

It's impossible to get a good idea right now.

In my opinion, the greatest hope for Trump losing the next election IS trump. He is incompetent and could easily wind up destroying his own reelection bid.

Time will tell, but I wouldn't be placing any bets on either outcome.

For someone who's incompetent he's done a decent job. I guess that means that any incompetent gasbag could do a decent job as POTUS.

And I'm placing bets on Trump, but the odds won't be anywhere near as good as 2016 (I picked up a nice $200)

on the day police shoot a protester in hong kong, president trump congratulates china on 70 years of communist rule.

many other politicians took the opportunity to condemn 70 years of human rights abuses and the victims - past and present - of the chinese communist party.

i feel like he would literally go on twitter calling for civil war and rednecks to overthrow the system if he got impeached he truly is a mad narcissist.

^ do you know what that map is? what do you think about his using it in this context?

i agree cduggles. the obvious ones (republican presidential challengers e.g. bill weld) are already supporting impeachment as they obviously don't care about being seen to be loyal to trump.

but others are making measured statements about at least supporting the inquiry. as public pressure grows the line will move.

i think a lot of republicans have a big problem with trump but aren't prepared to say so publicly. the republican party has a golden opportunity to decouple itself from trump and i think it's in the long term interest of the party - 'the party of lincoln and reagan' - to do just that.

His false map he put out in 2016 during elections. Hes very deluded and is throwing a mad tantrum on the internet on twitter like a 12 year old kid getting banned on a video game for cheating claiming they done nothing.

Hes dangerous due to the fact his brainwashed followers are heavily armed and are soaking up everything he says and further fueling CIA deep state paranoia among his voter base.

Now he is claiming it isn't impeachment but a coup. Hes very insecure and a god dam idiot.

Being heavily armed is meaningless unless you're willing to actually take action and put your own ass on the line.

And I bet when it really comes down to it, only a very small number would actually do anything.

The vast majority will scream about how close they are to doing something and how if things deteriorate any further they will do something. Just like they've been saying for decades before trump and will continue for decades after.

Because really, everyone's a bad ass who will stand up for their beliefs... So long as they can continue to do it from home in between Netflix marathons.

right. but i wouldn't describe it as a 'false' map - it's actually perfectly factual but only about what it actually displays. but in the u.s. square yards of real estate don't vote to elect the president. people do.

it's not false. but it is completely irrelevant and designed not to inform but to mislead.

Exactly. The simple fact is of the voting public in 2016, Trump fell short by several million voters.

So you can hardly show a map like this and pretend virtually everyone voted for you. Well I mean you can, but only if you're completely deluded...

His level of narcissism is truly breathtaking and could not possibly be more obvious. I've known a true narcissist (a very close friend), and she was just like this. Everyone has to know you're the best, I mean they HAVE TO. Her primary goal in any social interaction was to make sure everyone knew how great she was. It was more important to her than anything. Trump's own words and tweets give it away to such an extent that it is undeniable.

Something that has become very clear in this post trump world.

Nothing, absolutely NOTHING, is undeniable.

It’s great watching Republican politicians try to figure out which way the winds are blowing on the Trump impeachment.

lol it's funny to watch Democrats feel hopeful (again!?) that Trump is getting impeached (this time!!) while completely ignoring what Biden's son was doing in Ukraine.

THIS is hilarious to watch. Democrats are tripping themselves up:

First answer "NO" was the correct answer. But because of Biden's corruption the gears started turning in her head. "I mean, I don't know. I'll have to go back and look" (at her own plan). Can't tell the truth if it's going to hurt a Democrat and potentially aid Trump.

Pelosi wouldn’t have gone out on a limb to open the investigation without a head count re articles of impeachment.

So unless there’s some byzantine procedural snafu (it’s only happened twice so I’m sure there are some grey areas Trump will try to exploit), Trump is going to be impeached.

It’s a political process, and with a House majority in favor, it’s on.

I don’t think he’ll be convicted, but some massively shady stuff is coming out before all is said and done.

The funny thing about this is that they're trying to remove Trump for asking a foreign leader to investigate corruption regarding Biden.
The Democrats excuse Biden's behavior (I've even heard it been called a conspiracy theory) when we all know if it was Trump Jr on the board of a foreign company, Democrats wouldn't be giving him the same treatment.

Transparent and pathetic hypocrisy.

Also impeaching Trump without removing him is just going to give him more support.

Donald Trump’s Campaign, RNC Sets Presidential Record by Raising $125 Million in Third Quarter

The pro-Trump effort said Tuesday that it has raised more than $308 million in 2019 and has more than $156 million in the bank. Republicans aim to use the fundraising haul to fight off Democrats’ impeachment effort.

Former President Barack Obama and the DNC raised just over $70 million in the third quarter of 2011.

So Trump raised nearly DOUBLE of what Obama raised despite all the bad press.

Trump has allegedly raised more than every Democrat combined.

I'm personally mad at Trump but he's more popular than ever (higher approval rating than Obama at this same point, from aggregate polling)
