The 2019 Trump Presidency Thread

Speaking of Dems and what they say...a frequent refrain in the Mueller hearings was "Nobody is above the law" to which there was no opposition, only agreement that accountability is lacking at times. I foresee this turning around and biting the Dems later this year when Horowitz's report comes out regarding the build up for the FISA warrants. Trump won't have to say a thing to get re-elected, just replay clips of Dems saying "Nobody is above the law" over and over.

Tim - I just wanted to stop and thank you for jumping into the conversation. New views and voices are always appreciated. It may take a bit of time to get used to the peanut gallery and know who is joking and who honestly believes their statements, but you are very much welcome to stick around.

I appreciate it ? i wasn't bothered by the peanut gallery ?

I as a Leftist don't see the point in the act of throwing milkshakes at conservatives

I as a political refugee can gladly explain it. The act of throwing a creamy beverage on someone is first of all meant to humiliate and embarrass them publicly as a means to demean or ridicule their political views, but more nefariously, it's to get people accustomed to political violence. "It's just a milkshake yum yum milkshake that's not assault" - in fact it is assault because it's the INTENT that matters not the creamy goodness. An example of this slippery slope was at the recent Portland rally where Andy Ngo got attacked, there's a police report of a milkshake with quick-dry cement mixed in with it.

So do you as a Leftist condemn political violence in all forms?

Ok, so since the campaign back in 2016 when some of his supporters claimed he was a "straight shooter" can any of you tell me when you've heard anyone still saying that? Aside from those mocking comments (rightfully so) from 3y ago?
it's the reason i heard many, many supporters say they were voting for him. in some cases, the single most important reason because it meant no more washington business-as-usual, things will be different, the swamp finally drained.

well, did you get the guy you voted for?

it's as relevant today as it was in 2016.

Again, past tense - anyone say as much since then?

Lol, the swamp ain't drained, I'll give you that. Will you give me it has been anything but business-as-usual? ;)

he's still in office. it's still relevant.

in some ways, sure.

but from a point of view of broken promises, lies, mixed messaging, etc. it's most definitely business as usual.

So after all those reprehensible comments and MSM proving Trump is racist, he reached his 2nd highest approval rating.

Either the country is super racist or people just aren't buying it. Democrats are The Boy Who Cried Racist

...he reached his 2nd highest approval rating.
lol. out of context - and in absolute terms - well that's just swell, isn't it.

trump's highest approval rating was on the day he was elected. he's currently at ~43% with his disapproval at ~53%. even at his highest approval rating in 2 years, more people disapprove of the job he's doing than approve.

trump's highest approval is still lower than obama's lowest approval rating.

If there was no Orange Man Bad syndrome Trump would smash Obama.

lol - you mean if people had a higher opinion of trump his approval rating would be higher? sure. but they don't. so he doesn't.

this just in - if poor people had lots more money they'd be rich people!

:)

alasdair

Coz the media lies about how Trump is so bad and they lied about how Obama was so good.

There are a ton of stupid people out there who believe liberal media.

37 indictments- money well spent :)

if trump spent fewer millions of dollars on golf trips same would be true but something tells me your fiscal concern doesn't extend that far... i could be wrong.

alasdair

If you think those indictments were money well spent then I don't know what to say to you. Alasdair were you surprised regarding the results of the Mueller Investigation? (I should go back and dig up some old posts)
