The 2019 Trump Presidency Thread

Status
Not open for further replies.
he definitely is a politician in many respects and the whole 'draining the swamp' thing - and the idea that he's some washington 'outsider' - is so laughable now. he's as, if not more, corrupt than those politicians he criticised in his campaign...

alasdair

He sure lies like a politician.

And he plays politics as much as any politician I've ever see.

Thinking a man like trump will stop corruption is like expecting a nazi to stop antisemitism.

It's easy to criticize.
At least President Trump will be kicking ass for another term :)
We're all cheering him on over here hahaha loving it. Cheers mate ?
Why not come and join our party? Leave your salty tears behind.

you seem comfortable speaking on behalf of others

Why shouldn't I ? You can listen to your NPC "The Guardian" fake news, or you can have your mind back.
But first you must leave your addiction behind. Until you do, you are unreliable. Predictable. Non-participating character-like.
Orange man bad aha.
We already know what it says lol

i watch very little television but keep making assumptions and smugly telling yourself you're right and everybody who disagrees with you is wrong...

Watching TV, reading The Guardian, hanging out inside bl multi-moderator echo-chambers lol...the ROA is irrelevant. All addicts in denial minimize their addiction.
It is not healthy to ingest & regurgitate gossip & slander like this. Even when it is about someone you despise.

"Gossip is so tasty. How we love to swallow it" [King Solomon]

My point was, and still is, that President Trump is not that bad. He is doing some good things.

During the last 2 weeks, I have enjoyed reading various historical BL records. Most of them include your considerable contributions, which reveal you to be consistently even-handed & level-headed.
Yet here, when dealing with the subject of President Trump...not so much. ⚠

do you think being a bad person and doing a good thing are mutually exclusive? if so, that seems like a rather simplistic analysis, no?

indeed. draw your own conclusion...

I am not judging his character. I am judging the behavior of the MSM and those who compulsively ingest & regurgitate their mindless junk. Like a bunch of people here for example.
In response to the embarrassing display of regurgitated gossip and slander here, I am pointing out that he is not that bad...i.e. not as bad as all you gossip junkies are making him out to be.
What you're doing here is compulsive behavior. You actually thought The Guardian might serve as credible information reg. Trump lol Maybe a 12 step program will help with that?

saying "the guardian is not credible" is as worthless a generalisation as "cnn is not credible", "fox is not credible" or "all trump supporters are racist".

i hate to assume but i assume that there's a close correlation between sources you'd describe as credible and sources which agree with your position. it's amusing to be told to open ones mind by people who are clearly not taking their own advice, J.

Trump is someone who has basically started a war on the nature of truth. He has essentially made it politically viable to completely dismiss even the most obvious and undeniable elements of reality as "fake news". He made it viable by doing it and showing everyone else that you can do it, get away with it, and still get elected.

He's not only a politician. He's a leading politician pioneering new political weapons.

Everyone in Australia loves trump, any sources or evidence that say otherwise is fake news. Anyone in Australia who disagrees is a rare exception. With a few simple tactics a framework is created within which you can make any point of view impossible to challange. And because of that, compromise and honest debate becomes impossible.

He has done a wonderful job at further dividing Americans and making them see each other as the enemy. He's a disgrace.

But I still hold out hope. I still believe that human society is ultimately trending towards the better. And I have faith that long from now history and future generations will look back on trump as one of the worst leaders of a democratic first world country in history. And on his supporters as complete fools.

Trump will become a slur, an insult politicians use against other politicians when they engage in the tactics in use today.

indeed. nicely put.

I am sorry you have finished up in such a miserable condition.
Don't you think it might help if you avoid the subject? You know...don't hang around these slanderous sessions where you finish up hating someone passionately. Someone who you have never met, will never meet, and about whom you have nothing but 2nd-hand information. Trump will not harm you. All this poison you have isn't healthy.

that's true of you too.

help me understand how the 2nd-hand information you have is good/true/whatever but the 2nd-hand information others have is bad/false/whatever?

that's a mostly rhetorical question. obvious conclusion is obvious.

if only we had a Donald Trump to save us from politicians who have sold us down the river, leaving us drowning in debt that can never be repaid.

Trump has produced an additional $2 trillion in national debt so far and his tax plan alone is projected to add another trillion over the next decade. So don't wish too hard or it might come true. I have no idea where your idea that he's going to save us from a debt we can't ever repay has come from.

I feel proud of America. You did so well for not electing just another worthless sell-out politician. Thank God for President Trump.

No, we elected a narcissistic egomaniac who would slit his own momma's throat if it got people to tell him how great he is. He's the biggest sell-out in the world. No one's a bigger sell-out than him. His sell-outs are the best!

We're all cheering him on over here hahaha loving it. Cheers mate

I know a variety of Australians and "you" are definitely not all cheering him on. You, specifically, are, and presumably some people you know and hang out with in your alt-right echo chamber ;)

Russian collaborator hahahaha...how stupid is that hahahaha
You know it too hahaha...?

I'm guessing you haven't actually read the Mueller report that you guys like to claim vindicates your support of Trump. If you did, I can't even begin to imagine the mental gymnastics required to convince yourself that nothing fishy was going on there. It's ironic that you guys try to everyone else NPCs and gullible idiots and such because at this point the rest of the world seriously wonders what's up with you guys. Like, are you for real? The picture couldn't be more obvious. The Mueller report is finally as close to proof as any of us can get about that picture, being entirely outside of the media which, one thing I'll give Trump, is a bunch of fake news all around much of the time, and very meticulously investigated and written. I dare you to read the Mueller report. I haven't read it all yet but I'm a good way through.

Anyway I know you're just trolling us right now and replies are the entire point.

open ones mind
I'm not saying you should open your mind, I am saying that it is not healthy to compulsively ingest and regurgitate gossip & slander like this. People who are victims of a crime - for example parents whose child was killed. Manslaughter. An accident whilst drink driving. Their loss is very real, and unthinkably heavy. People in that unfortunate position do well to forgive. It would be unkind to continually sit with them, elaborating on every detail of the criminals conduct, his background, his family, his current activities in jail, contemplating his future...keeping the wounds open and eagerly finding new ways to enlarge them.
Aren't you doing something like that here? Encouraging a miserable disposition in individuals, and when that misery is openly expressed, you praise it. "indeed. nicely put".
I am sorry you have finished up in this bind.
