I'm pretty sure you know the 'why' implied by the meme. Recall, a meme is meant to be funny (which in turn is often offensive, or based upon stereotypes). Choosing to be offended by 'a joke' is the choice of the reader, and not necessarily the intent of the creator or poster.

some memes are intentionally made to be offensive rather than funny, and some are funny because they're offensive. personally im willing to overlook the offensiveness of something if its legit funny, like this one i'm posting, but others are not:

i have no doubt that its racist and offensive but damnit i still think it's hilarious. invegauser's response is the correct way to handle being told you posted something offensive; denying it, blaming the victim, and telling people to "lighten up and learn to take a joke" or whatever is just a bullshit attempt to justify being intentionally offensive while refusing to take responsibility for being a dick. grow the fuck up and take responsibility for yourself and your actions.

glad you liked it that said, the "hilarious because (or in spite of) its offensive[ness]" memes should be kept to a minimum. its still racist/offensive, and "i'm only being racist IRONICALLY" generally doesnt fly here ("ironic racism" is still racism), but context, intent, and poster history are also factors.
