I'm pretty sure you know the 'why' implied by the meme. Recall, a meme is meant to be funny (which in turn is often offensive, or based upon stereotypes). Choosing to be offended by 'a joke' is the choice of the reader, and not necessarily the intent of the creator or poster.

Though...thinking about your words further, it does feel like a bigger reach because I don't recall BLM burning any flags at anytime.

Sorry, but that's a load of crap. If what you say is true, literally any image could be posted in this thread. Some things are inherently offensive. You apparently aren't even comfortable with spelling out what the "joke" is supposed to be. Why? If I am "choosing" to be offended, surely you could explain the meaning behind the meme in a way that wouldn't be overtly racist...

Recall, this is CE&P not the Lounge. That thinly veiled racist shit is not supposed to fly here. Says as much in the OP.

Racism is not tolerated in the lounge, there has been no problem there in that regard in years. It's not a good call to assume otherwise.

though imo it should have been worded with democratic party before BLM, i did not make that meme, simply found it online.

to me the joke doesn't poke fun at black lives matter. in this instance it points the funny stick at democrats who are often slandered for taking advantage of the poor and people of color.

humor is a reflection of reality in one part. in this case the reality the democrats are ignorant and think it's ok to use people of different races to further their "agenda". if anything this is more on the fringes or even borderline conspiracy theory in the political sense.

talk with the mods and admins and if you all come to the agreement that it is too racially charged i'm more than happy to take it down myself as it was not my intention to make fun of black people.

though i seem to remember once posting a statue that had a lot to do with race and no one had a problem with it, i can see why the particular meme your referring to might create some tension.

Simmer down. I don't remember calling anyone evil. I didn't even report the post. Simply exercising my right to call out racist bullshit. And highlighting the simple fact that the rules are there for a reason, and the historical tradition of (at times) looking the other way shouldn't even be an option here.

@invegauser... I'm not even going to respond to that point by point. Just know I think it's ridiculous.

The intent of the poster really isn't my concern. It is the image itself and whether or not it's presence is tolerated. I'm not a mod here, so I've done about all I can to express my disapproval.

@TLB: i found 3 instances with links where BLM were known to burn flags but in response to mal3volent's post i wont bring them up and drag this through the mud anymore than it already has been.

after reading your post i understand where your coming from and have decided to take down the original meme.

to the room: my apologies if i disrespected anyone as it was not my intent. i would like to get back to more political funny and less words if that's alright with everyone else.
