Political Satire and Meme Megathread

Hey JessFR,

UAing a post is just making it invisible.

Banning is different. And much more serious.

BLUA applies in this thread and, just as an example, anti-Semitic memes aren't okay.

So a UA is minor. A ban is not. I tend to be consultative with mine. (I personally don't feel comfortable discussing other people's issues. Like if I was banned, I wouldn't want it to be broadcast. Other mods differ with me on this point.)

And I can assure you that the multiple offenses were incontrovertibly ban-worthy.

I understand the difference. And I have no problem with antisemitic comments and similar being unapproved, I think it's just how it was phrased that had me concerned. I just think it's important to stress the difference between censoring something ideologically driven that's needlessly offensive or hateful, and censoring something for its ideological origin in general. But we're off topic and I'm happy to drop it. :)

I just meant more stressing what the objectionable content was more specifically. So for example, specifying that a post will be unapproved if it's antisemetic or racist, as opposed to being due to it endorsing a particular political ideology, like alt right beliefs. Even if the two can overlap, it seems like the former is more accurate in describing the problem behavior and less likely to interpreted as censorship, and be more likely to be defended if someone does interpret it that way.

That's all my problem was, that it sounded like the problem was a fairly vague political view rather than hateful or racist posts. Like I said it was just the way it was phrased that I found troubling.

I could definitely uncharacteristicly be in agreeance with y’all here. Can you tell us(or me in PM) which chad vs virgin meme itwas or the topic of it. I’ve seen some harmless funny ones and I’ve seen abhorrent racist ones, the majority are harmless but there are some def bad ones that blatantly violate BLUA. I’ve been careful with the memes that i post here that cross the line.

Trump Accuses Clinton of Deliberately Losing Election So He Could Be Impeached
In what might be his most startling allegation against his former election opponent, Donald Trump on Wednesday accused Hillary Clinton of deliberately losing the 2016 election just so that he could be impeached.

“How could one of the most experienced politicians in history lose to the most unfit candidate ever?” Trump asked reporters. “Crooked Hillary lost on purpose because she wanted me to be impeached.”

Explaining Clinton’s motives for intentionally sabotaging her quest for an office she had coveted for decades, Trump said, “Hillary Clinton is more than a nasty woman. She is an evil woman, and her sick mind is capable of anything.”

Trump said that instead of reporting the “fake story” of his campaign’s collusion with the Russians, the media should focus on Clinton’s “diabolical scheme to lose the election.”

“I don’t know if Hillary Clinton lost the election on her own,” Trump said. “Maybe she asked the Russians to help her lose. But the fact is, Hillary Clinton deliberately plotted to put me in the White House, and the American people should be very angry about that.”

Fake news. No really, I'm 99% sure that's satire. Apart from doing some research which suggested strongly it's satire, I simply don't buy that trump would ever say that he's unfit for anything.. Ever. Narcissists don't ever think they're unfit for anything.

Fair point. I kinda hadn't considered that given that virtually all of this thread has been on the meme side rather than the satire side.

Great. Rip jah. How about moar memes and less words like stated repeatedly thru the thread.

If you behave like no onez welcome then the drop in traffic is on you, no one else.
