to the room: trump reminds me of an old joke or similar scary story where the monkey in the closet is looking at the booger on his finger saying got you where i want you now i'm going to eat you.

Oh my god, I fell down a rabbit hole on memory lane, thanks for that. =D We must be a similar age.

Trump now backs marijuana 'states rights' bill, senator says

President Donald Trump has reportedly lent his support to a U.S. senator from Colorado, promising to back legislation that ?protects states? rights? on legalized marijuana.

The president's decision would represent a split from U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who in January rescinded an Obama-era policy, known as "the Cole memo," that gave states more leeway over the federal government on marijuana policy.

The name refers to former Deputy Attorney General James Cole, whose memo explained the policy.

In a statement Friday, U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner, a Republican, said he?d received an assurance from the president on the states' rights' issue earlier this week.

Since the campaign, President Trump has consistently supported states? rights to decide for themselves how best to approach marijuana,? Gardner said. ?Late Wednesday, I received a commitment from the President that the Department of Justice?s rescission of the Cole memo will not impact Colorado?s legal marijuana industry.

Furthermore," Gardner added, "President Trump has assured me that he will support a federalism-based legislative solution to fix this states? rights issue once and for all.?

Cool, a bit of good news. It was inevitable, if you visit Colorado you can see the good that's come from the marijuana tax revenue. All their infrastructure is brand new, their schools are funded, it's great.

Very good news!

Even better, 90% of the commenters on that article, on Fox News' website of all things, seem to support at the very least the respecting of states' rights in this issue.

There's nothing you can do Jeff, you're a shitty AG and no one is on your side anymore, not even the man who put you into power.

WTF drugs are you all on?

No constitutional amendments were violated. I love the constitution and I think there's some amendments more important than others, but you have to be tripping to think some were violated in this case.

Hell I even think a 10 day waiting period violates the 2nd Amendment... but whatever the R's are on, it must be some good shit.

MUeller is just trying to justify the cost of his investigation. Right now he’s trying to link payments that trumps lawyer gave them for having sex with Don, to the campaign funds. Hopefully his lawyer has everything super well documented so they can’t fabricate anything. Surely they have a forensic analyst on board ready to go. I mean this is some major fishing, why would he think Cohen had access to campaign funds. Idk maybe he did, hopefully he was smart enough to know to not use those funds for pay outs. I can’t wait till this is all done, they have successfully stalled the trump agenda.

Desperation mode. I don't see how people don't see anything wrong with this.
What does this have to do with Russian conspiracy?
Setting a very bad precedent

The silence from the ACLU about attorney-client privilege and civil liberties being violated is deafening! He needs to fire sessions and put someone in to fire Mueller this witch hunt is really starting to piss me off. Whats the saying? Something like ‘show me the man and I’ll find you the crime’. Don’t remember it, but it’s something like that. After Obama spying on his campaign and all of the rest of it I’m really starting to realize what a banana republic we live in.

Sorry to jump in like that but I was wondering if these srikes against Syria will increase Trump’s popularity. It usually happens in the beginning of most the wars, woud that be corrected to assume that?

Well isn't everyone gung-ho on attacking Russia these days?
So those people should be happy

It's just curious why he felt the need to pay off Stormy $130,000 and then lie about it, whereas the other 17 rape victims got endless insults and vitriol hurled at them....
Rape accusers.
17 what?

nobody sees anything wrong with it because basically everyone hates trump except racist people blaming mexicans on their failure to do well in life.

it may not be "fair" the way they are going after trump, but when you are as hated as he is, ppl are gonna go after him

Good question, especially as many supporters of Trump were touting his non-meddling/war mongering as a huge advantage over every other politician.

Donald Trump said:
"Just hit 50% in the Rasmussen Poll, much higher than President Obama at same point. With all of the phony stories and Fake News, it?s hard to believe! Thank you America, we are doing Great Things."

Even Bloomberg and the Washington Post are being forced to admit that President Donald Trump's approval rating is on the rise.
Both media organizations, which had seized on every opportunity to tout the president's approval rating when it was mired in the mid-to-low 30s, are now being forced to tout a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll showing Trump with an approval rating above 40% - his highest since his first 100 days in office.

Furthermore, among men, Trump's approval rating has risen to 49%, while 47% of men disapprove. Meanwhile, 32% of women approve of the president's job performance. Meaning that, for the first time, half of US men support the president.

The president's strongest approval rating was for his handling of the economy, of which 48% approve and 45% disapprove. This is clearly a sign that the Republican's tax cut plan has been welcomed by most Americans, who are beginning to see more money left in their paychecks.

Finally, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released last week shows Trump's approval rating just four points below a peak reached last month - down from 43% to 39%.
However, the president's decision to attack Syria will likely dent his support among some of his most fervent backers, who had applauded Trump's "America First" stance, and his promises to bring US troops home from abroad.

Syria strike will help or hurt him depending on which targets they hit.
If anything it hurts the Trump/Russian collusion conspiracy theory.

Not really. There is no reason to think Russia was acting benevolently. They wanted Trump in power because of his incompetence, knowing he would further damage the reputation of the USA. Why wouldn't you want a buffoon running the country you oppose?

Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell if Obama left office.

They just have the same foreign policy of genocide, and the same policy of taking away civil liberties.
