You insulted him in the process. Again, you have every right to debate with people here and point out where you think they're wrong. You don't get to do it with insults. Insults just destroy the conversation because people get offended and pissed off. If you're insulting people while you're trying to tell them something, they will immediately stop listening to you. That's why we don't allow it. And, once again, calling someone a kid is being condescending. It doesn't add anything to your argument whatsoever, but it does piss people off.

its pretty simple to tell somebody that their ideas are shit while simultaneously not attacking them personally. it does require having the mental capacity to hold separate the concepts of "person" and "policy position" though. if you can't explain to somebody whats logically invalid or otherwise problematic about their positions, or what kind of unexpected consequences might occur as a result, well, honestly the likely reason that might happen is that their positins don't have any flaws for you to find

I've been drinking from the firehose of recent news and it's just so easy to forget.

For example, I was reminded that Trump pardoned Joe Arpaio recently.

I try to stay current with major developments, forgotten stories, some international news, and summaries of alt-right news (lowest priority).

It's a lot but it's hard to get away from Trump.
