CEPS Well Hung Parliament (CEPS Social/Off Topic)

Hope you all are having a Grrroovy New Year thus far!

All of you CE&Peeples are so spesh. I raise a flute to salute you beauts.

Bubbles? Why yes, why not? ;)

Boogie boogie danse danse

I don't know what a hench kitty is, but that is sort of how I picture you, CFC. I know the brunette in your avatar is just to throw people off the real sandy softness that stands in such contrast to, yet complements, your physique. Unfortunately the BL senior posture is beginning to show.

I feel rather like I'm starting to resemble this picture lately ;)

Had quite a few bubbles last night, and am paying for it a little today!

Hope your NYE celebrations were fun :)

It's sad because bp is probably one of the most intelligent, well-worded, posters in here and some ppl just like to twist those words around to suit their own purpose.

He certainly holds his own though.

the wind chill is higher than BluePhlame's IQ

lets stay away from insults and personal attacks please. everyone has different opinions, and we welcome all different perspectives and opinions in here so long as they remain civil and arent spreading hate and bigotry. if you want to put BP in his place, than refute his points and debate him in to the ground in a calm, rational manner.

i dont agree with his arguments, but they are very well written and seem pretty well grounded in logic, he's just working from a different starting premise than you. i understand that you have unique experiences that the majority of us cant understand, but please try to remain civil and dont interpret arguments against transsexualism itself as personal attacks against you.

Brutal criticism of this subforum dude ;)

None meant. There are some shining intellects here. It is just is frustrating to watch certain someones manipulate the language of others to suit their own end.

;p

I disagree that BP's opinions are logical or grounded in facts.

His connecting his opinion that "the arguments being used for normalizing behaviors that were once taboo, could potentially be argued for other paraphilias that are currently against the law. I would argue that there has to be a line drawn somewhere, and not inched further and further into accepting various paraphilias as acceptable and normal in society. I don't want groups like NAMBLA or the incest & necrophilia advocates to be covered under the same human rights protections as the LGBT folks are."

When I see concepts such as "necrophillia" and "incest" being brought up in discussions, it's a clear sign that there's something else going on.

It reminds me of when homosexuals were fighting for the right to marry. The hysteria included fears of people 'marrying their pets' or 'inanimate objects'.

And now, I'd like to propose to a nifty sports car I used to have. ;)

You forgot to highlight the part where he states he doesn't want them grouped together. This is what I'm talking about when people twist his genitals words.

Its an objective fact that the DSM5 lists gender dysphoria is an illness, however the obvious rebuttal here is that it clearly states that "gender nonconformity (ie, transexualism) is not in itself a mental disorder. The critical element of gender dysphoria is the presence of clinically significant distress associated with the condition." And then the comparisons to pedo- and necrophilia are more in line with demonizing the enemy, probably with a splash of straw man and red herring along with it. These make for some obvious starting points to begin refuting the premise that transgenderism and non-binary gender identities in general are not mental disorders.

I don't doubt that he and others do have other intentions and motives in mind when using this and similar premises, but their personal reasons and motives are irrelevant, you debate against an argument and the information it contains and the premises in which it is based, not the person making the argument. And i still stand by the statement that his arguments are generally grounded in logic; one can have sound arguments but incorrect conclusions if their starting premise is flawed or their information incorrect. BP is good to have in here because his arguments are largely rational, so you can engage in a proper debate rather than simply playing "spot the fallacy", so there's good practice that can be had refuting his arguments.

Dear Tathra,

Please see my response to Jah about gender dysphoria.

Then note the time stamp.

I'm going to post my response to Jah to his statement now. Okay? :|

Mods: I let Tathra's post stay up for awhile in the hopes he might read my reply in the thread he's referencing.

If my response belongs elsewhere, please move this article post or any of my other ones where they belong, like oblivion. Please do.
