2017 Trump Presidency Thread

Lmao the collision non mesense, to quote Van jones, is a nothing burger. It's been a year of Russia hysteria and they have people loosely connected to trump in process crimes. They wouldn't be parading out the bimbo brigade this week if they had anything substantial. The next ploy is to try to get him to resign for all of these false allegations. Imo he's giving the media/dnc just enough rope to hang themselves. Allegedly there is a huuuuge tape proving women are being paid to make these claims against him. Which would be awesome if it does come out, but also pretty shitty for the women with legit claims. We live in some messed up times.

you seem to have access to the inner workings of the mueller investigation which is impressive droppers.

can you honestly answer a hypothetical? what if mueller's investigation proves beyond doubt that trump and his campaign worked with the russians to try to impact the result of the u.s. presidential election?

please don't dodge the question with "but it'll never happen" or whatever. assume it is proven.

thanks.

I don't like hypotheticals. I don't trust Comie, Mueller, or any of these other Clinton cronies. If the evidence was something indisputable I'd say any true American would want him brought up on charges. The fact that you all are so bought into this conspiracy theory is crazy to me. To think y'all gave the pizzagate people such a hard time. That's what I call good old fashion hypocrisy.

Ch I want Comie brought up on charges as well, he illegally leaked info to the press so that he could get his cronies to open a special investigation. And he even admitted this.

And there is no hypocrisy in the pizzagate true believers brushing off allegations of child sexual abuse when it suits their political agenda?

The difference between "pizzagate" and the mueller investigation is that there is absolutely no evidence of pizzagate so it was not worthy of investigation.

If you're going to condemn sex predators, it looks cheap bad when you defend the ones you like politically.

As i've been saying all along the pizzagate tale has nothing to do with seeking justice for child victims of abuse.
It was an attempt to smear people by prentending that abuse had actually happened.

It really doesn't get much lower than exploiting child abuse like that.
Maybe something to consider before you keep throwing around accusations of hypocrisy.

...Mueller, or any of these other Clinton cronies.
lol. ok. mueller was appointed fbi director by george w. bush and served under him for 10 years. he's a republican and his appointment as special counsel was welcomed by both republicans and democrats in a rare show of bipartisan agreement.

i know you want it to be true but he's hardly a clinton crony.

If the evidence was something indisputable I'd say any true American would want him brought up on charges.
indeed.

The fact that you all are so bought into this conspiracy theory is crazy to me.
us all? while i think that the papadopolous and flynn revelations are troubling for trump and suggest there is more to come, i'm going to wait for mueller's conclusions. you make a lot of assumptions about what other people think, droppers.

One thing I learned aboot Trump is he's very polarizing. You either like him or you don't, very little grey area with him
how would you reconcile that with his campaign claims that he would unite the country?

during the campaign he tweeted: "For many years our country has been divided, angry and untrusting. Many say it will never change, the hatred is too deep. IT WILL CHANGE!!!!"

i guess those caps meant he really meant it! what's he done to unite the country so far?

I think most of the world is united against him. He has only caused upsetting situations all over the place. In Israel, if he really wanted to do the right thing, be radical. Wouldn't that be logical to create two embassies one for each part. That sort of behavior upsets people including Jews living in Israel as I've read.

Lots of candidates say things (and mean them at the time) that they can't keep. Obama said the same, and look what happened when the Ferguson riots, Baltimore riots....etc broke out.

You Americans have never really been united, its always been Right-wing vs. Left-wing and Blacks vs. Whites.
Its sad that thats the way it is, but I dont see it changing anytime in the future (regardless of who is President)

It's not polarized enough.

The Republican and Democrats sharing a deficit-loving infatuation is pretty sick. I'd like to see at least one party choose to lower the deficit.

Long time ago, the Republicans wanted to lower the deficit. Now only Corker wants to (way to emulate the Democrats :|), perhaps the Dem's can take up the cause.

And neither party is taking a hard-line stance on ending the drug war, or legalizing euthanasia and suicide. There's a long way to go.

Legalizing, or decriminalize drugs use would be a good start. It has been done in few states but it seems it's still very complicated..

America (and the rest of the world) are gonna be just fine.

Everyone just needs to stay positive

I wish i shared your optimism, but it's simply not true.

Reports today of china bullding refugee camps, anticipating a massive humanitarian disaster in north korea.
The world is a long way from "fine".

We're teetering on the brink of some very serious disasters.

We are already experiencing a monumental refugee crisis.

Look at the hostility in europe and elsewhere to people fleeing warzones in the middle east and elsewhere - it's not very nice, is it?
Now, imagine adding a few million Koreans, or even Japanese people fleeing a war zone, or - say - the fallout from a nuclear attack on Japan or South Korea.

This is some serious shit.

I would argue that this is no time to "stay positive".
It's the time for people (especially americans) to be telling their government that war is not the answer, and that for trump to start a war with an unpredictable nuclear state to attempt to save his political career would be suicidal.

Killing and displacing miliions of people is never an ok thing.
What a "2017" thing to say. :(

I must say 2017 has been quite a tough year, politically speaking. If this war happens things would be real chaotic for issues that could have been avoided IMO.

As you pointed out things are already very difficult with Syria, displaced people all over the Europe and Asia. Not only the killing but how the rest of the world will respond to that will probably dictate our future for decades if it comes to that. I wish there were more efforts to stop Trump's craziness. At some point he will do something that would not be reversed by a twitter.

Keep in mind the Korean war already happened, it was very real, and sanctioned by the U.N. The Americans who fought in the Korean War are heroes and patriots. It's one of the most justifiable wars America has fought.

I would not be saddened if it reoccurred. I know that is an unpopular opinion here.
