Dustin Hoffman among stars facing new harassment accusations

Two Oscar-winning actors, a Hollywood filmmaker and a senior US news editor are the latest high-profile figures to be accused of sexual harassment.

The actors Kevin Spacey and Dustin Hoffman have been accused of sexual misconduct and have issued apologies.

Meanwhile, six women have accused Brett Ratner, director of the Rush Hour film series and X-Men: The Last Stand, of sexual harassment or misconduct.

Ratner's lawyer "categorically" denied all of the accusations on his behalf.

A representative for Spacey released a short statement to the US media, saying the actor "is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment. No other information is available at this time".

A growing number of allegations have been made against public figures in recent weeks.

The allegations have been sparked by multiple women speaking out against the Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, and a subsequent campaign encouraging victims to share their stories of sexual harassment under the #metoo hashtag.

Another British MP has just been suspended over "serious allegations". I think this brings the number to 6-7 now.

Tory MP Charlie Elphicke suspended after 'serious allegations'

MP Charlie Elphicke has been suspended by the Conservatives after "serious allegations" that have been referred to the police, the party has said.

Mr Elphicke, a former party whip who has been the MP for Dover since 2010, has denied any wrongdoing.

Another actress who was "raped"...didn't say anything, then invites him into her apartment alone after the initial "rape" took place. Sorry shes a prostitute not an actress

im not saying this guy isn't a predator but many of this women are partly to blame.

Actually, the NYDP cops supposedly have diaries and blog entries of her 10 years ago complaining about Weinstein.

These things can easily be traced back to their original date, so she's either speaking the truth or she's not

Actually researched this actress, I don't say this lightly, but if it was a rape, she had it coming. Plus I wouldn't trust her to remember whether a rape had happened or not with her track record of regularly blacking out in public

That's a really disgusting thing to say man.
I can't understand how anyone can believe things like that.

You don't know her, you don't know the situation - and nothing justifies rape.

I've blacked out in public. Lots of times. Does that mean nothing i say can be trusted too?
I'm not even going to ask if you think i deserve to be raped. :|

I'm pretty stunned at some of the comments in this thread.
It kinda goes a long way to explaining how creeps like weinstein were able to get away with that kind of behaviour for so long.

The ironic thing is that some of the people excusing rape in this thread are the same
people that blame "rape culture" on muslims.

I hope he has a BL account, and i also hope he adds some 'chemical castration' meds into that epic stash.
