Hello everyone ,
I am new here and have been reading some posts about different drugs for a while here.
We all know that execssive amount of coffee will make you feel relaxed and high. However, I'v never found a thread disscusing eating raw coffeee powder for a high. So I tried it myself and ate some amount of powder for 3 cups of coffee. It instantly filled my brain and felt relaxed the time I ate the powder
.It is very harsh though so if you want to try it , I advise a bit by bit.
After the consumption through time, I felt very high (not hallucination sense.
I also felt very relaxed and all my anxiety has gone (so if you have social anxiety it's very good for you). Not even a spoon of nutmeg gave me such relaxation( I take nutmeg for anxiety not for tripping).
Has anyone tried this before? It seems raw powder makes caffeine effect more potent. Also please have a cup of water nearby to drink it after indigestion.

i'm highly sceptical of the claim that coffee made you feel "relaxed", let alone "high".

if you are hoping that people will attempt to eat "raw coffee" in search of a high, i would suggest that it is - at best - a bad suggestion.
caffeine overdoses are not pleasant - and caffeine is a stimulant, but not in any way intoxicating.

I am definitely not advocating it as a way to get high by an overdose.
Only fot relaxation and anti-anxiety.
5 cups of coffe may seem too many for some but we all know there some people who drink 7+ cups per day.
My point is that raw powder is definitely stronger as from personal experience.
Thank you for replying :)

Raw coffee powder + "Also please have a cup of water nearby to drink it after indigestion." = bad / instant coffee right? I love my cup o'joe as much as most but during mild opioid or benzo withdrawal it freaks me the F out which is why I am a little bit apprehensive about the anti anxiety suggestion, but if it works for you then cheers, I'm just not sure I'd shout about it from the rooftops..

ETA(edited to add)- Out of curiosity how much Nutmeg do you use and how do you take it ? Ground powder in a spoon? 00 size gelatin caps? Extract maybe ? It just sounds punishing without a ton of deviled eggs to go with..

Thank you for your reply :)
Yes I take 1 and a half to 2 spoons of powder everyday and I try to squash the powder in my mouth as much as possible before swallowing it.
It makes me very happy and gives mild relaxation through the day.
No side effects/ hallucinations what so ever.
It is scientificly proven that nutmeg is an anti-anxiety substance and it also works as a musclr relaxant for those who have spasms.

I'm kind of curious about the essential oil as it contains decent amounts of myristicin and elemicin and might be easier to choke down in someone sensitive to the taste (me). I think it's the monoamine oxidase inhibition that is responsible for the folklore remedies and possibly the benefits you describe.... on the other hand over doing it will cause one to trip for two days straight so there's that also. Have you ever had any accumulation that caused side effects after multiple days of ingesting ? The last time I looked into it I think it had a long half life.

Unfortunately, essential oil is not available nearby for me. I wish I can try it because it is very interesting , but same for me at first I was disgusted but then with out lying to you I can not function probably with having its taste in my mouth throughout the day.
As for long term side effects, if I were to mention any , only occasional mild diarrhea and it is very " occasional".
So I am generaly very happy with it.
Edit: regarding its long half-life, I can assure you that I have never experienced any hallucinations or psychoactive effects during the long term use of the aforementioned daily dose of nutmeg.

You're referring to Nescafe or a similar "instant" coffee product? Well, regardless, it probably would've been more enjoyable to just make yourself a cup of coffee as opposed to choking down raw powder. The great thing about Nescafe (if there is anything actually great about it) is that you really can dump as much in your cup as you can handle with little regard for the proportion of water used. If you're in it for a short and relatively intense Caffeine-buzz, then that would be the way to go.

I think, being that most of us are familiar with Coffee or Caffeine in general, it goes without saying that to become "relaxed" by a large dose of Caffeine in any form, is pretty out of the ordinary. There's some surprisingly effective rationale surrounding why something like Caffeine is a legal drug, while many other stimulants are not. You really cannot go higher than the threshold for effects before peripheral nervous stimulation begins to make you feel very uncomfortable.

You do seem to be a statistical outlier in terms of your subjective experiences though, so I do not in any way mean to discount or discredit your experience. Most folks have a decidedly negative reaction to recreational Nutmeg (Myristica Fragrans) usage.

My recreational use of a pinch of nutmeg on custard has so far been benign and fairly enjoyable.

OP says "a spoon" of nutmeg, which leads me to assume he or she is using dried, ground nutmeg - which i've heard is usually i highly degraded, if not completely inactive.

BIG EDIT : since I live in the middeast , there are two types of coffees here : plain coffee like you have in the west and " arabian coffee" which is basically a coffee powder with cardamom. I started the thread after trying eating the powder of arabian coffee. Just a while ago,I tried eating the plain coffee powder and did not get the same buzz. So now I discovered that the buzz comes from the mix of cardamom and caffeine wich is very interesting. Is arabian coffee available in the west ?

I'm not sure what that substance is in your Arabian coffee but I'm interested. Since you're in the middle East is alcohol legal in your country?

Yes I live in Damascus and drinking culture is a big thing here. Alcohol is only banned in Saudi, Iran, Sudan , Kuwait and some other countries. Drinking is very popular especially in Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt.

i do, but i wouldn't eat coffee grounds straight....that sounds awful!

i do love a cup of good coffee, but find excessive doses of caffeine really unpleasant. makes me feel jittery and definitely not relaxed.
but i will seek out a cup of arabian coffee over the next few days. there are a lot of middle eastern cafes, halal supermarkets and restaurants in my neighbourhood.

lol I totally understand you , but I have to say I drank it a lot before and never had this awesome buzz as of eating it. just saying :)
Have fun sipping ! :)

i'm a big fan of traditional ethiopian coffee. it's really strong, and sharing a small pot of that with someone is about as much caffeine as i can handle
