2017 Trump Presidency Thread

We do, indeed, have a masterful troll of a President; it seems only in keeping with the times, though.

A good point SKL. A true president of the people.

Imagine the dark future where we elect leaders based on facebook likes. :|

Trump has, for now, at least proved that countering the Facebook meta can be politically profitable!

I've been getting a certain amount of perverse enjoyment from watching the latest Trump Twitter antics (in regards to Obama G. Gordon Liddy-ing Trump Tower). I keep waiting for him to get on television and finally confess that this entire foray into political life was merely done "for the lolz". It's the only explanation that makes sense at this point...

He is the master in manipulating. All of this must come to an end, he cannot go on like that for years. People will soon get tired and urge for changes hopefully.

I love watching the media report on Trump. It's like an every-day existential crisis played out on live television...they just look completely incredulous at all times

So the Democrats got General Flynn, and now they are going after Sessions. Trump has had enough and he is firing back.

According to a New York Times article, the FBI already investigated Trump relating to Russian ties and found no link. James Clapper just stated on NBC that there was no link. The Russian hacking conspiracy theory was based on highly confident intel from the CIA and moderately confident intel from the NSA - which is not evidence or fact. WikiLeaks denies it. The DHS and FBI report does not even mention Assange or WikiLeaks - who play a pivotal role in this narrative. And the DNC never gave its servers to the FBI, nobody has analyzed them.

The FISA court rubber-stamps more than 99% of all the warrants it is asked to grant, which means basically no oversight or requirement to show probable cause. However last summer one of the very few cases that got denied was an open-ended warrant to conduct surveillance on Trump Tower. They then tried again and according to a Fortune article got the warrant. Then just before Obama leaves, he signs off on the concept of having the NSA share its material with other intel agencies.

So the question is: if the Obama administration (and unverifiably yet undoubtedly the Clinton campaign) had all this juicy and scandalous dirt on Trump and his associates, why didn't they release it all during the election? Clinton would have won, and they would never have gotten caught.

Also does this count as election-tampering by the Democrats? During the election the DNC engineered the Russian propaganda narrative in an attempt to disable the Trump campaign, when they knew that there was no link (if they had evidence it would've dropped). Obama definitely knew about the wiretapping as his AG was involved. The MSM also reported on it so it was not exactly a secret. So it seems that the outgoing administration conducted espionage and surveillance on an incoming administration for no apparent reason, failed to find any dirt so they then disseminated the information.

If Trump's claims are baseless, then the entire Russian hacking narrative is baseless. This is the problem with McCarthyism. The Democrats overplayed their hand and now it is going to turn on them. When you accuse people based on no evidence then you yourself can be accused. Claire McCaskill, along with 6 other Senate Democrats met with the same Russian ambassador.

What the Obama administration has done here is break protocol, and they have apparently subverted the USA's longstanding tradition of a smooth transfer of power.

^ i used to call people names like that when i was 8 years old...

well, after years of republicans telling us they'll destroy repeal and replace obamacare and president trump promising, during the campaign, that he'll give america "something terrific" we get "the american healthcare act".

tl;dr: it does nothing trump promised; the left hates it; the right hates it; it's not 'terrific'

MSNBC’s Brzezinksi: ‘We Are All Really Nervous’

They dont even pretend not to be biased.

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinksi hit peak propagandist Monday morning with a teary-eyed monologue in which she let “Morning Joe” viewers know that the Trump administration’s behavior is “really bad” and that she is “really nervous.”

“This is really bad. Just for the record, we are all really nervous. So if people out there feel nervous, we do, too. We don’t think this is funny,” Brzenzinski said.

It's not biased to say that trump is a fuck up.
He's a pathetic joke, but the joke is really on anyone deluded enough to support the corrupt baby-man.

By any objective measure, the behaviour of the so-called trump administration is "really bad".
You enjoy being shit on by the rich?

I just can't wait to see it all come crashing down.

I believe that this insane behavior as President will not sustain on a long term.
I keep asking myself how someone like him gets away so easily. Not for long, hopefully.
Keep thinking about the long term resentment he's creating. The haters he is endorsing all over the world.

I believe he's paving the way for real dangerous people all over the world, not only in Europe and that cannot be a good thing. People that think like him but behave in more acceptable ways but ideologically just want to kill the "bad dudes" are not as fool as he is. Seeds are being planted and everyone knows what happens with a divisive world.

I hope for a strong and intelligent opposition, truthful to the facts but also capable to reach more people. No matter if that happens in US or in Europe as long as it starts soon.

I think there will be blowback from this. I sense a massive, reactive surge from the left in the not so distant future.

I hope so at least...
