2016 American Presidential Campaign

I do see how the US impacts the world. In the long run trump will be worse for our citizens because he is a lot less calculating and does not have long vision. He will do what is best for him and his cronies every time. Consider how he has run his businesses. When they go bankrupt he still retains his wealth, but his employees end up suffering. I am surprised so many working class people are buying into his demagoguery. It is just an easy way to build support because the republican base does not have an altruistic view towards their fellow countrymen. It is a very skewed vision of the american dream in which you get ahead by setting others back, rather than moving ahead a little slower with everyone. The sad part is: If he gets elected, those supporters he has pissed in the ears of will just be a passing thought to him.

I see hillary creating lots of policies that affect other countries negatively in the long run. It is as ziirp said: She will act in a way that enriches her cronies at the expense of other countries. We do have the largest, most well funded, most well equipped military (which surprises me considering we cannot take care of our veterans in any sort of meaningful way). I don't like the idea that people attack the fact that her gender is not male. I could see a man or woman doing an equally good job of losing our way in this situation. I see in our future under hillary another foreign war, or a continuation of war, as well as covert actions in oil rich venezuala. The sad part is: We will not know how damaging her presidency will be for a few years to a decade. At that point we could have the best president in the world, but the fallout from her presidency will ruin his/hers.

About bernie: He has his hands tied when it comes to endorsing hillary. I bet he views this as a Faustian pact with the democratic party considering he was not a democrat but an independent for most of his political career.

This has been my expression when watching his campaign::D:D:):(:\:|:|:!:!:X:X:?:(:(

What scares me the most is that each election there was at least some way to tell which candidate was the lesser of two evils. This election is kinda like throwing turds from each in a bucket and standing in it. Your always going to be in the shit no matter what you do.

Didn't Richard Dawkins coin the term "meme"? :)

I understand people's dislike of Clinton, but why all the sexualised/misogynistic ways of expressing it?
Seems like a double standard to put it like this;

Do people have a problem with Clinton because she's female, despite the fact that she is a woman, or is it just a convenient way of attacking her?
I'm not a fan of Hillary at all, but it seems like a fairly large amount of the vitriol aimed at her is because of the fact that she isn't a white male.
Much like Obama.
Thoughts?
I've been voting for female candidates since Cynthia McKinney ran for president in 2008 for the Green Party. She was black, btw. In the next election, I voted for Jill Stein. But here comes Bill Clinton's wife. Again. When I try to think of ways to describe her, "cunt" is one of the first labels that comes to mind. Then there is sociopath, which like cunt is accurate btw. Finally, I think of her horrible track record, her love of killing, her corruption, and bullying.

With Trump, what is the male equivalent of cunt? Is it "asshole?" That fits him.

So no, I don't have a problem with female candidates. I only have a problem with Bill Clinton's wife and Bill for that matter.

Wasn't directed at you socko - or anyone for that matter.
Just trying to elicit a higher level of discussion based upon a vague observation that people tend to use crude sexual terms in political discourse when a woman or women are involved.
Curious what others have to say on the matter.

Google won't even list Trump lol
you must not be very good at the internet...

Yeah I actually did see the exclusion of trump on their list before they changed it. I'm sure that they will give some explanation but I'm sure it's some mid-level bourgeois reformist-not-really-so-left-liberal attempt at trying to troll Trump supporters. Hopefully he loses his job and find out what it's like not to be a part of the technate anymore but that's a long one.

In case anyone is interested, there will be a Trump AMA tonight at 7pm EDT on /r/The_Donald

It's going to be heavily screened so don't bother leaving any cucky comments :)

I see an honorary deputy campaign manager position in his/her future.

maybe somebody will ask him why he's publicly encouraging a foreign power to engage in espionage against his opponent?

surreal.

I for one welcome Trump and our new Russian Overlords.

Democrats do realize that blaming the Russians is an age old distraction from crimes the DNC committed and the Clintons apparently encouraged?

America needs a Putin of our own tbh. No it sure is not Trump.

We still don't know the extent of Bubba Clinton's treason when he sold our missile tech to China. Vote for WWIII Hildo so we can find out. The hard way.

it's going to be hard to run the country if we have to stop for 5 minutes every time trump says something so that an apologist or staffer can explain what he really meant...

What he meant is that Russia already has the emails and should release them.
I agree, assuming that Russia was the source of the leak. Also, Trump is insulting the FBI. Trump is subtly pointing out that the FBI is corrupt and unwilling to do its duty because it is controlled by Obama/Clinton. What he is implying is that only an "enemy" rather than the current administration is capable of being honest with the American people. it's brilliant.

I'm all for Russia releasing anything and everything they have on our politicians, every single Republican and Democrat (save any national security details). We need full disclosure to vote intelligently and we sure ain't gonna get it from our media. Damn the torpedoes and let the chips fall where they may. There's not a single person here that wouldn't be WTF shocked.
