im sorry you suffer with that

Are you on any other medications? SSRI perhaps? There are other meds than can cause sexual dysfunction. But Naltrexone usually should not be one... Though I have seen that it can happen. But VERY rarely. Opiates are more likely to cause it than Naltrexone. I really hope you are on some other medication that can make this make sense, because as of now I have no answer for you. I am sorry...
no other meds
yes it does happen with naltrexone when the opioid receptors are blocked. when the main pleasure centre is blocked you lose pleasure in many areas, orgasm being one
so it looks like i am 1 in a million that has permanently blocked receptors
Give it some more time. That is my only advice. Time heals many things.

A lot of people get no effects from tramadol, I think around 30%
This is oral Naltrexone, right? Not the shot? Can you specify your dose and type? If anything, your receptors should be REsensitized, and opiates should have an increased effect, right? And no other meds? No bupe, or vivitrol shot? Maybe you're getting bunk pills... I duno. Hair loss is really weird... get some bloodwork, maybe your hormones are fucked up? Have you ever had chemotherapy before? Or any other medicine regimes? I've never used tramadol for a long periods of time... maybe they can mess you up in ways that are not opiate related...
Mine would block a day or two. Possibly three max. Perhaps speaking to a pain Dr will help. Explain a chronic condition you suffer from(back ect). Then ask him if the dose you took could have this affect on your opiods meds.
So its still blocking your receptors but will not be an ongoing thing? I had a friend who was given an implant to remove her cravings, and it lasted three months, but you are referring to sublingual daily pills i believe. I can relate to the intense urge to get the nirvanic effects brought on by opiates, however, I would fear in the future if you had to under go a painful procedure and had to take opiate meds to avoid the pain post procedure would it possibly render the meds ineffective? Does your tramodol help your pain presently? You seem like all is improving, happy to hear and your life seems to be going well. However, just for measure Id ask your would be the results if you were to require such meds before the receptors regained activity just to be cautious. I'm happy you spoke to a doctor, and mostly are feeling well without the opiates. Wish I could say the same. Holding a good thought always ✌
It never ceases to amaze me how different we can be with regards to drugs and how they affect us. For instance OP states 100mgs of tramadol was at least for a time "insanely euphoric", 100mgs of Tramadol used to be what I used to use to quell the occasional restless leg event and the only way I knew I had taken it was the fact that I would be a little groggy the next morning. I've taken as much as 600mgs of tramadol at once and I still never experienced any euphoria, a little wobbly in the legs yes, but no euphoria.
If you're a tramadol enthusiast you'd hate me because I have IR and XR formulas on tap for free, I see them as nothing more than a shitty tasting skittle or tic-tac, though the drug should be treated with great caution, My best friend was addicted to it for over a decade...the withdrawal was unpleasant to say the least.
Glad you're feeling better OP and if I recall correctly tramadol is a fairly hepatotoxic painkiller at least in comparison to commonly used opioids like oxycodone/morphone. Take care man.
Just read through this entire post. What you are describing are the side effects of SSRI's. Though Tramadol is not one, it has many of the same properties and many of the same side effects. Especially the orgasm effect. If you haven't already, I can almost guarantee that if you were prescribed say 10mg hydrocodone pill. You would feel the effects of it. Your opiate receptors are not permanently blocked.
