May be getting locked up, been there?

In retrospect, I wish I would have known about blue light back then...would have helped immensely and some support surely would have been appreciated.

Suboxone is not only prescription, but the doctor is required to have taken a course to take on 100 patients. Best bet is to look up a suboxone clinic and even that may be hard as they will likely not want to interfere with your pain management without your doctor's approval first as that's how it was for me even with a retired doctor being the last person to treat me during a time off transition in care that never really picked up.

I'm guessing doing a quick methadone taper won't work? I hate methadone as it caused severe mood swings.

If you have to go through WD's in jail you are going to be in a weakened state physically and mentally and you will be a target regardless of your size/training as a marine. Do yourself a favour and get off your meds. With the state of the barbaric us prison system and the bad rep opioids get especially oxy, I wouldn't count on them to give you that in prison
Pretty much this. I had an uncle who served 18 months in a jail and he said that the ones who became bitches or got raped were the ones who showed weakness.

Okay...bad enough as it is, can we steer away from prison rape scenarios and focus on the subject of advice for easening withdrawal symptoms for Christ's sake, lol

Ugh...trying to think ahead and make a list of things to do. That's why I'm waiting till Monday to start. I know I'm not going to feel like doing shit once I start.

Just been reading these posts. Crazy to think in US those kind of meds (Oxy and other serious painkillers) are really easily available (I'm not saying that the ex marine got prescribed them easily, with his size being what it is, he was maybe prescribed Oxy for back pain. A common symptom of being quite tall ) I live in UK and DR's here don't like prescribing anything stronger than gabapentin/pregabalin (never had either of these so don't know if they're more muscle relaxers or painkillers). I've been on Heroin and Crack in the past (though clean apart from methadone now) and because of addiction issues, my DR won't give me fuckall. I've been trying to find places here that do morphine programs, but they're rare. I think it's shit being relatively drug Free, I really miss Heroin. I wanna find a Dr who will prescribe me morphine because I can't take being off heroin. I know I've been a bit all over in this post, but not had anything for over a day as I now can barely stomach methadone and feel like it ain't really helping anyway. I identified with SKR saying that over there (checked your profile and see you from Australia, thought you was a pom like me cos of how you described the process of being allowed methadone if you are already on it in Aus. prison's.) you get to stay on methadone if you have an existing prescription. That's how it is here now, though it didn't used to be so a lot of us (heroin/methadone user's) sued hmp and now it's standard to get your script in jail. Feel bad for the guy on oxy, I don't reckon he'll get it in jail in US. Their jails are fucking hardcore. Our nicks are like holiday camps in comparison.
Anyway, I've rambled on enough. Hope to get a reply from SKR .
Later.

I feel SO bad for you man. See how they treat war hero's in US ? it's fucking shit mate. Come live in UK. WE respect our ex services. (at least more than US anyway.

Check out the Thomas recipe here.thomas recipe.

This is a bunch of medications and supplements that will help you with the withdrawal. There are two meds that are prescription only that you will need from your doctor. Clonidine 1mg, and diazepam 10mg.

These will help the physical aspects of the withdrawal. It would be very helpful to have someone there that can take care of your kids and keep you company. Withdrawal will make all your emotions come out sideways and powerfully.

Pregnant women are the only ones who get to stay on mmt in our jails. I see them every weds come in to the clinic in shackles.

Man I've came off sub's and klonopin in jail it was fuckin brutal I didn't sleep for 2 weeks or something til I finally got bailed. Fuck if I ever go again I'd swallow a condom full of sub's or something nobody is gonna make me do that again. I was in a cell with a marine who the doctor laughed at and treated like shit because he had a hemmerage in his stomach . I was like wtf dude is dieing and fought for are country and your gonna laugh at him?

Do yourself a SERIOUS favor and kick before jail. You may very well be Billy Badass, and a big dude, but if 3 or 4 dudes try you, AND you're in withdrawal, you're not going to do well.

Don't even worry about being tested and the violence. Think about being in WD in a dorm with 50 other dudes and have to shit and vomit every 5 minutes. Think of showering with 10 other guys at a clip while you're dopesick.

I have court tomorrow, and while it's unlikely I'll have to go back in, I still got off 8 years of subs months ago just in case.

rackazoobob you can do this!!!! Once you detox completely you'll be amazed at how wonderful you'll feel!! Get off these horrible pain meds theres a million holistic things and non narcotic painkillers out there that you'll be surprised at how well they work for your pain!! I'm a hardcore heroin addict trust me when i say this your losing your "Real" self, your inner soul and being are slowly being depleted by opiates!! I've been to county and prison and detoxed multiple times in jail and im a female, if i can do it, So can a tough ass bad ass marine can!!! Do it at home i'm telling you no matter how bad the temptation is to et well on your pills don't do it!! Detoxing at home with a comfy bed, tv, movie, internet, someone to take care of you is sooooooo much better than being treated like your not even human, just another number in jail!! I'm in ohio and like someone said before ibuprofrin is the answer to everything!!! keep us updated im rooting for you rackazoo!! if u can get weed n benzo's those are lifesavers!!!!!!

Let me offer you this advice: dont let half the posters in this thread scare you half as much as they intend. Kicking in jail, for me, wasnt nearly as bad as kicking on the street. There's something to be accredited mentally to not being able to score or take another pill. You're locked down and most likely will encounter other inmates you can find support from while kicking. I sat for 9 months last year while coming off a heavy habit. Crazy that when using isnt even remotely an option you will barely even think about it.

I've heard the same opinion from a lot of different people.

If you can, get a script of gabapentin prescribed for seizures.

A lot of weak minded, feeble people in this thread. A lot of you wouldnt believe how mentally strong you can be until being strongs your only choice. Dudes a marine FFS.

That's how I felt in jail the withdrawal was less bad because it was impossible to get anything. I complained enough and they put me in the medical ward with clonidine, ibopfofen, promethazine and some kind of stomach drug and even immodium. There is a downside to this there is no TV or commisarey in medical

I keep typing up long messages and when I go to post it kicks me off so I have to sign in again. Message lost...lol
I'm learning. I haven't posted in a forum in a while...guess I forgot some stuff. :)

I've maintained my dosages to about 160 +- SR/day, so it may be a tad easier to WD this time around. Warrior...youre awesome...thank you for being a cheerleader for me...I really appreciate that ;)

Chase and DT...I appreciate your comments as well. I'm really not concerned with getting raped...some people watch too much TV. I am familiar with the prison scenario. My dad spent 15 years in the Texas prison system...looks like Apple don't fall far from the tree. He was a Marine too...it's a family tradition.

Pop wasn't on anything when he went in and he's gone now anyway, that's why I was asking y'all for input. In my mind I have to prepare for WCS. Truly I understand the necessity to not go in with a dependency. On the bright side...I have some ink work i've been wanting done so there is that...
