total murder tallies alone to draw inferential racist sentiment is real credible. 8) derp on

also as you yourself notes, the terms black and white alone are problematic. you can't draw ANY conclusions from those stupid screens. fox news typical horse shit.

sorry with this absence of critical attention, i am beginning to doubt your educational accomplishments as you claim to be true.

This is government data, not "stupid screens".

I guess in this case how do we draw conclusions on anything? Maybe cigarettes don't cause cancer and it's some odd outside factor. The statistics would suggest smokers are much more likely to cause cancer, but hey who knows? Can't draw any conclusions.

When I was at University I listen to professors ramble on about the same far-left drivel all day had a "Economic History" who completely slagged off Adam Smith and sounded like he was about to orgasm whenever he talked about Karl Marx, turning on Fox News after a long day of class was a refreshing voice of reason.

"I just tend to prefer the white person over the black most of the time. If there is a white or black working a register at a checkout I usually try to choose the white. I feel more at ease around them."

real tolerant.

alasdair

i wouldn't call it intolerant per se. ridiculous, sure. but he's clearly tolerating them. it's not like he's causing any harm to anybody.

would it be any different if he had said "I just tend to prefer the tall person over the short person most of the time. If there is a tall person or short person working a register at a checkout I usually try to choose the tall person. I feel more at ease around them."?

i mean you would think that's arbitrary and weird, but it wouldn't elicit the same type of visceral reaction that it does when he says "black" and "white"

I find the idea of "tolerance" fairly arbitrary. I mean, we tolerate that which ordinarily bothers us, right?
Acceptance of difference (whatever the trait may be) seems a bit more genuine.
"Tolerance" seems patronising and forced.
I mean, I tolerate the sound of my neighbours upstairs shagging - but I don't feel any compulsion to tolerate them based upon what nationality/ethnicity they happen to be.

Yes, true. It´s much more related to acceptance than tolerance.
We tolerate the weather, but not our neighbors.
But when accept becomes a bigger word in terms of meaning.
So that would apply even for the weather, given this example.

^ what were you saying earlier about victim blaming, LostBigot?
Pretty fucking scummy attitude you got there.

We must have different definitions of victim, Michael Brown certainly does not fit mine.

I believe he would have been shot to death even if he was white, and if that happened tell me spacejunk do you think Obama and Holder would be speaking out? You might think the power structure is against him but he had the President and Attorney General at bar for him and still the impartial jury found that he was not a victim but a criminal justifiably killed.

Lighten up a little, some lighthearted humor here.

by that same token, doesn't that mean that we should accept that 'what 23' is just a weird guy with some weird ass hangups about race? i mean that is a trait that he has that makes him different from us, and a bunch of people in this thread have been far from accepting of that.

i mean it would be facile for me to throw him under the bus, because race is just not something i consider when determining if i like somebody or not. and it damn sure doesn't factor into my decision about which checkout line to get into (i always go with the shortest line as a rule). so i don't understand the way he thinks and it's something that is totally foreign to me. but i don't think the way he feels is actually destructive or hurtful at all. he's simply stated a preference. from what i've seen in his posts, i don't think he would support any kind of violence or hatred directed towards non-whites, i think he just feels uncomfortable when he's around them. who you feel comfortable around is hardly a matter of choice, it's a gut-level visceral reaction that is formed through conditioning. i find it unfortunate that he can't feel comfortable being around non-whites, but i don't think he's a bad person for it.

i mean i don't really know anything about the guy, just what i've read in this thread. but he doesn't seem like the terrible guy he's being made out to be. at least he's been honest about the way he feels.

I dunno, I can't relate to what23's perspective, but I'm not calling for him to be attacked by an angry mob.
Those angry mobs have their hands full as it is.

Oh just fuck it all. Were all gonna die soon anyways. Cops, global warming, isis, drugs, cancer. Something. Lets all just get high, get laid, stop the petty arguing, and have a beer. Life is too short for this shit and time aint slowin down. Whats the point of coming here and getting all worked up over some guy across the globe who disagrees with your point of view. Theres too many other things to do in life. All the statistics and insults in the world isnt going to change his mind. I hope everyone has a great day/night out there and be safe and be happy with a fuckin smile on your face whatever your doin. Even you bit pattern, you crazy son of a bitch. Hope you have an awesome day or fuckin night, whatever it is. Have a cold one on me. I dont drink. Ill smoke a big one for you guys tho. Later

But we can genuinely joke about anything. If it´s a joke, I feel oppressed not being able to just be kidding about something. As it could be politically incorrect. Okay I get that.
However, ..
I saw another day one black dude wearing a T-shirt saying 100% black! Really proudly.
Can you imagine if I wear something written 100% white?
Would I probably go to jail? Good chances I get beaten up before that. So I don´t follow..

^ yeah we can joke about anything.
But we are also talking to each other via a medium that does not allow users to;

Making jokes is fine, just as it is also fine to assert that something is offensive, misleading or simply bullshit.
Like this:
Timothy McVeigh was a victim then when he was executed?

Capital punishment and extrajudicial killings are not the same thing.
