The ISIS Megathread

/yawn at this thread.

any1 have updates.
i got one solution.

Evacuate all Iraqis and let isis take over Baghdad. Next week bomb the fucking place and take it off the map.

Ummm.. The army doing their thang caused this mess.. by thang I mean killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.. bullying the native folk and throwing their weight around..

Al Queda numbers grew from fuck all, when America first arrived to fuck shit no! amounts in less than a decade.

Why would you worry about a guy getting on your bus wearing a turban? Careful.. You might just say something incredibly stupid.

No this did not start Al-Qaeda at all. Al-Qaeda was actually supported by Bill Clinton in Bosnia in the 90s.

A married woman is allegedly shown being stoned to death in the Syrian countryside by her father and a group of fighters from the Islamic State in a five-minute long video released by the militant group on Tuesday.
The woman, wrapped in a maroon cloth, was sentenced to the stoning because of accusations that she committed adultery, according to AFP. A statement from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the stoning apparently took place in the countryside of Hama, a city in western Syria. The UK-based information office said it was unable confirm the date the video was filmed.
Iraq is torturing and executing innocent citizens, UN report says. Read more here.
The footage opens with the alleged father — wearing a red and white checked headscarf — standing next to a tall bearded Islamic State fighter wearing camo fatigues and a collared shirt. Armed fighters with covered faces hover behind the men.
Speaking to the woman, the fighter addresses her, at one point saying: "You must accept God's rule and this is a sin that you have committed." He then asks her if she accepts God's rule and punishment, to which she says yes.
The woman asks for forgiveness from her father, but the man declines, visibly waving his finger in refusal and saying saying, "Absolutely not, I am no longer her father."
Meet the Kurdish suicide bomber planning to attack the Islamic State in Kobane. Read more here.
Eventually, the man is approached by another fighter, dressed all in black, who persuades him to accept his daughter's forgiveness.
Before her stoning and after accepting her sentence, the woman is prompted to speak and give advice. "I say to every woman: preserve your honor… and I appeal to every father to pay attention to the surroundings your daughter lives in," she said.
Afterward, the blue-shirted fighter turns to the camera and says, "life is a deep ocean, you need to watch your families and honor them. Go back to God, don't leave your families for too long."
With a rope tied around her waist, the woman is then guided to a hole in the ground where she is readied to be stoned to death. Other fighters are perched around the hole. After a man off camera is heard speaking, the daughter crouches in the hole and is pelted with large stones.
At one point the camera turns to the men and through blurry footage and the man portrayed as her father is seen throwing multiple stones. The video cuts out after more than a minute of stoning, but it is unclear if it continued after the camera is turned off.
In response to the video, Salem Muslet, vice-president of the Syrian National Coalition — an international coalition of Syrian opposition groups — told VICE News in a statement that the opposition group condemns the crime against the woman.
"We emphasize that this crime, as well as other crimes committed by ISIS, do not reflect the principles of the revolution or the Syrian Coalition," Muslet said.
The violent and graphic footage comes after a series of videos in recent months appearing to show the beheadings of journalists and foreign aid workers. In September, the group released a feature-length film — documenting their ongoing insurgency into Iraq and Syria —which contains footage of a mass execution of Syrian soldiers captured at the Raqqa air force base.

Irony is completely wasted on you. Pearls before swine.

At risk of encouraging this off-topic mummery... When did that last happen?

Say that to yourself when it happens and you have a family to protect. It only takes one time. Yes it has happened to me and thank God I did have my gun. Probably 4 or 5 years ago, my girlfriend and I had a one bedrooom in a small complex. We had been visiting her family for a few days in another state. The day we came back was late at night. So we just chilled for a little while and then went off to bed probably around 2 in the morn. We had been in bed maybe 30 mins and i heard some noise that sounded like it was at the front door. I heard more noise. So I grabbed my 9mm smith and wesson, clip with talon hollow points in the gun but not totally in, just needs that extra push which i gave it, took off the safety and went to the front where their was some dude fuckin with my window. There were blinds tho so i couldnt see him and he couldnt see me. We had some bushes and little shrubs in front of the window and he hid behind those trying to do whatever. I took a couple steps forward, put one in the chamber, and yelled at the window that if he continued forward I was gonna blow his fuckin head off but I think he was going the other way after i started yelling. Called the cops and blah blah. I think he had been watching our pad and had noticed that we hadnt been there for a few days. Im glad it ended like it did because i dont want to have to hurt someone but Im not gonna take the chance of giving them control or an option to hurt me or my loved ones. Im certainly not going to have the its not going to happen to me stance.

Also, Ive heard many people in the rehabs Ive been in tell stories about how they did home invasion robberies all the time. They wouldn't hurt the family but they would break into the home and if they were there they would bring them all to the living room, tie them up, and take all the valuables. What a scary thing to go through. Do you think every person that has been robbed knew it was coming.

At the moment, i dont have that gun anymore or any gun and it makes me uneasy. That was a sweet gun too. Beautiful piece of machinery and had the power to match. Got that before they changed the laws in my state on how many bullets in the clip you could have. The clips could hold 16 I think and one in the chamber or maybe 15 and one in the chamber. Now i think its 8 or something. I miss that thing.

I realize you dont take what i say with any kind of value and thats hunky dorey so why even make the insulting posts that you do. With all the time and effort you spend on the site, wouldnt you want to be some type of good example for this place instead of just losing it when someone has a different view peppered with low blow cheap shots on their character that you, in reality, would have no clue if it was were true or not. You do add some valuable content here with the articles you post and Ive heard people say it keeps them up to date with whats going on when they cant look into things cause of a busy schedule. Its got to take it out of you just disagreeing with people all the time. When you get older, you'll see that you just wasted your time and energy and could have saved yourself some headaches. Ill send some positive thoughts your way.

^Amen, for every gun murder there is there is probably many more instances where guns stop a murder, rape, or robbery because a responsible citizen defends themselves with a firearm.

Pretty ironic considering pretty much every interaction you have with me is you offering uninvited insights on my life/personality :\

You agree with everything else then?

My observations arent meant as to demean you or to discredit you. Well sometimes i dont think you know what your talking about but only on a few things. You seem like a bright knowledgeable guy with most things. And if you remember, you have changed my stance on certain topics and as much as i hate to admit it you kinda got me on the global warming is reality thing.

I could see how you might take offense to what i say and ill try and not to do that but i think you can understand peoples reaction to you by some of the posts you make about them. I am just connecting behavior you display with certain emotions that have been shown to be true with other people many times. I dont say your a idiot that hangs out in your mothers basement though. Lets get back to the topic. You can PM if you have questions or concerns.

Your story legalizeall.. you say thank god you had the gun.. yet the potential intruder ran out the sound of your voice..

Was the gun really necessary?

And doesn't it work both ways? With such a lax gun system isn't it more likely that the intruder would have a gun?

How many lives has a gun saved compared to destroyed? It's like trying to prevent and / or control fire with fire.

Criminals do not follow the law so more restrictive gun laws only disadvantage the law abiding citizen.

In Australia, where I live, we have really strict gun laws, while it is certainly true that there is a black market for guns, gun crime here is practically non existent compared to the US. I do not think this is simply because criminals in Australia do not like the idea of guns, it is because the law has made them harder to obtain and any time I have been able to obtain firearms via the black market they have been very expensive. There isn't much incentive to purchase a weapon to commit an armed robbery with, for example, if a significant portion of the take will just be recouping ones loss for purchasing the gun.

When guns are cheap and readily available it makes them more attractive and accessible to all sorts of criminals. With restrictions like the ones we have in Australia it is true that some criminals will still obtain guns quite easily, for example organised criminals, but people who are in situations where they are going to commit crimes of desperation, like robbing stores or individuals, are pretty restricted in their access to firearms.

Sure makes it easy for criminals to obtain guns when you have open markets and shops on every corner for them, no?

Also true for the UK.

^ yeah, sorry legalizeall - I've dealt with similar situations to the one you describe countless times, and never with a weapon, save for perhaps a knife if there is one nearby.
As drug mentor points out, desperate people fiddling with your window trying to do a home burglary are highly unlikely to have a firearm in places like Australia (unless they are an underworld hitman or something - in which case you're pretty fucked regardless).
I live in a rough inner city area, and gun crime is essentially non-existent. That suits me just fine. My "rights" aren't being shat on 'cause I don't need a gun.
If you feel you need a gun it is more to do with your geographical location than being some universal truth that has any relevance to IS or whatever this thread is supposed to be about.
