Drugs & Gaming

Fuck it, I'm not buying another console. I'm going to sell GTA V (and CoD Modern Warfare 2 now I've found the disc), and my wireless controller. It's not that great anyway. And there is a fairly large and growing selection of games for Linux on Steam now, so I'm just going to dig into that. Fuck throwing hundreds of pounds after light entertainment. If the games aren't good enough, I'll just keep adding 10mg 3-MeO-PCP until they ARE good enough :D

I'll buy gta and the controller off ya.

GTA isn't great Knock? You frontin'.

You know what? No, I'm not :) It is beautifully done and funny. But it's a replacement for real life, not an enhancement to it. I'd rather play abstract games or games set in markedly different universes.

I get into enough trouble with the police in real life. Running from them in a game is too similar to my day-to-day.

Well I can't even join you cunts as you're on XBOX. And I'm not buying an XBOX.

Anyway, monocultures are boring. Vive la difference.

Your real life is spent outrunning swarms of squad cars and taking potshots back at them? Jesus knock, I have a new found respect for you.

Not quite, I'm not armed. I get caught and locked up in real life, that's the difference.

Knock you intelligent motherfucker. What's a monoculture? Does it taste nice? <3

monoculture - an agricultural term for putting large amounts of land to one crop. In computer science, a monoculture is a community of computers that all run identical software

Man i cudnt give a toss who your favourite posters are or who you kiss and made up with omg check your temperature its an internet forum. And after a little trouble and no interaction between us for a year almost you pop up out of nowhere calling me a cunt and saying im a bad christian to try and bait me lol
MASSIVE FAIL
And massive yawn

Next.....

And you didn't do exactly that the other day? No? Ok then.

Spent a few hours at my mates' place last weekend to have a look at it, seems well done but I couldn't play it really, would get bored in no time, it was fun for a bit as it was a few of us together all shouting at the screen while my mate would target fat black chicks with his character and beat them to death, but doing the actual missions would bore me. Nice graphics though, excellent how it's made really but games that absorb too many hours just ain't my thing. For me what I like is still stuff like Counter Strike, where I can just go play a map, shoot some cunts, lay of life stresses and then go back to my real life in fifteen minutes time. Can't do the whole play for hours thing

Heh, i'm miles behind you lot, a few missions after the first heist and trevor and the fbi n that.. I wasted most of the money buying stupid property like that weed store n a taxi rank before i realized i shoulda invested in the stocks before assasinating some people get like 5x the money!

Xbox has packed in again though, freezes completely every 10 mins or so. 2 Days after i got the RROD fixed.. Pisstake. Gonna try borrow my brothers and carry on drilling it though, fantastic game and keeps my mind off drugs :)

What I like about GTA V is that both my flatmate & I are both playing it while sharing the Xbox and apart from a few things our games so far have been quite different from each other.
He will have done missions etc that I have yet to do and vice versa because of whatever character we choose to play as at the time.
Had a big surprise today while playing, don't want to give too much away but to suffice to say one of my characters went through somewhat of a 'probing', took me right by surprise I can tell you.

Hey GTA crew. Haven't seen anyone mention this?

The makers of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) have warned players about parking cars in garages in the game until a bug can be fixed.

Rockstar Games say they are looking into a glitch that sometimes causes cars to lose upgrades or completely disappear from safe houses.

In a support forum developers said they are "looking into" the problem.

"Unfortunately, we do not currently have a workaround to recover a car if it is missing," they added.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/24220206

In the meantime, please try to avoid parking a car in a garage, driving one already in a garage, or getting in a default vehicle, when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades."

Grand Theft Auto V, which is set in "a satirical reimagining of modern Southern California", is the first game in the series that allows players to jump in and out of the lives of three simultaneously playable lead characters.

Rockstar suggested the issue may occur if players drive different characters' personal vehicles.

They added: "Also please note that vehicles saves in the garage of one safe house (Franklin's Aunt's) may not show up in the garage of a different safe house (Franklin's Vinewood Hills)."

It has been reported that GTA V has taken more than $1 billion (£624 million) in worldwide sales since being released on 17 September.

Rockstar suggested players should subscribe to their support site feed for automatic updates on the issue.

Money talks

This week it was revealed that Grand Theft Auto Online, the much-anticipated multiplayer mode for GTA V will feature micro-transactions. Players will be able to complete in-game missions, heists and races to accrue cash to buy weapons, cars and houses. However, they'll also be able to use real money to buy in-game cash bundles. According to a report in Eurogamer, there are four cash cards available. The cheapest, £1.99, gets you $100,000, while the most expensive, at £13.49 gets you $1.25m.

In a post on the Rockstar news site, the company clarified the offer:

The game and its economy have been designed and balanced for the vast majority of players who will not buy extra cash. There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don't have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker. The economy is balanced differently from the single-player economy, and cash earned in one cannot be taken over to the other. Most players will earn cash much faster online than in story mode.
