ooo sin city, the healthy living graveyard :p

I walked 5k earlier to get groceries and then went for a half hour run... in 80% humidity. Time for shower #3 of the day... wheeee...

nucka its been 96+% here all week. i didnt exercise today unless walking the dog counts.

I enjoy exercising when I am holiday. I make sure I incorporate it every morning. No timelines to be anywhere feels lovely.

trail run 4.6 miles
day 29 of arm challenge

here is the next 30 day challenge if anyone is interested
This core challenge I won't crap out on after a couple of weeks :)

push-ups
crunches
shadow boxing
squats
side and rear delt raises

I meant to do curls but still too sore from the other day to care.

yard work (1.5 hrs no breaks)
dishes ?idk how long, but hand-cleaned a whole tupperware set ...
laundry day
*(working on good posture while doing the above)
+ couple sets of forearms - "wrist rollers"

doesn't sound like much, but for my level of fitness was a WORKOUT. That was 4 days in a row(from Mon.), early days did sets to failure of pullups/pushups/curls... every muscle in my body is sore :! !, especially the back!!
every muscle... except... abs.... hmmm have to do some abs today [Perpetual Indulgence- I'm reading over that 30day Ab Challenge!] <3

I think I might give this a try as soon as I am back in Vancouver. I want really nice abs like yours!

I'll be doing a lot of walking today coz my parents dont want to leave me in the hotel to workout lol. Sigh the ups and downs of having Asian parents

But situps and crunches don't really do much of anything.

Functional strength >>>

Planks are awesome. More leg raises and planks. Less situps and crunches. If you're gonna do crunches, do bicycles.

The best way to get abs is to lift heavy weights. Yes, even for women.

Today I did the same yoga routine as yesterday. Woke up at 5:40 AM! Started at 6:30! Not sure if I'll get back to my 4:30 rise and practice; it's a little hardcore. But 5 AM is within reach!

Also went on a ~1.2 mile hike. 1K elevation. Well, ~2.5 miles round trip, but obv the way down isn't hard.

7.3 mile hike with a friend and dogs

here is my pre challenge pics (we are posting pre and post on fb)

and a friend added this to September's challenge
http://runnerunleashed.com/2013/08/31/runner-unleashed-september-challenge/

I completed day 1 but bailed on a 4 mile mountain run this morning with friends.
I drank a bottle of wine plus a few cocktails last night with the same friends.
Thank you for the pillow and the blanket when I fell asleep on the couch.

i moved all my weight equipment from one side of the basement to the other, for dat feng shui --lol %)

then i went for a 3 mile run. first run in over 9 monhts, w00t.

Slept in til 7 this morning... Waking up in the middle of the night for the past 10 days finally caught up to me. Was just too tired to drag my ass out of bed, take the rhodiola, and practice yoga.

And it's labor day. It may be a sign to ease back (c) Ultramagnetic MCs.

But it's a Full Moon (i.e. off day) Thursday, so if I can get through today, that's just two more days 'til another break. Fuck it, who knows.

So I'm going to lift weights instead. I have been thinking quite a bit about getting back on StrongLifts for 1x a week for at least 12 weeks. Last time I was on it was six months ago. I was doing it 2x a week back then, and it proved to impact my yoga too much, but 1x a week should be fine. (I wonder if I've lost any strength.)

SL + a little yoga (Sun Salutations at least; from there I may stop, or may I do the whole sequence; who knows, I'm pretty hardcore) + biking

Nope just the ab workout for now. I didn't wanna go to the gym downtown coz it takes half an hour to commute and all that so I'm just gonna try to do it tomorrow after work

my lifts from the last time I was lifting (middle of Feb):

Squats: 160lb x5
Bench Press: 145 lb x5
Deadlifts: 145 lb x1
Overhead Press: 120x3
Barbell Row: 130x2

I weighed ~158 back then

My lifts today:

Squats: 140x5
Bench: 140x5
Deadlift: Next Monday (gonna re-start at 140)
Overhead: Next Monday (gonna re-start at 100)
Barbell: 100x5 (I can't even clearly remember if I did 100... seems a bit light. Fuck it.)

I weigh ~148-150 now

Squats and Deadlifts tend to be by far my best lifts, with Bench in 3rd. Overhead is by far the toughest, strength-wise, and Barbell Row is the toughest technique wise.

1x a week for the next 12 weeks. We'll see where it goes. No goals for now. If I decide to keep it up after the 12 weeks, I'll set some goals. For now: just consistency.

No yoga today after all. Gonna attack the practice with immense focus tomorrow morning to make up for it. :)

And before I forget, for reference:

You’re not supposed to deload weight when you miss a rep in 5×5. “Do as many reps as you can with good technique and without help. Aim for 5×5. If you miss 5×5, try it again next workout. If you miss the same weight in three consecutive workouts, deload in that exercise only. Lower the weight 10%. Increase the weight in 5lb increments from there.”

looks like your bench is your best life, duder! overhead aint bad at all, either. in fact i'd say that's your best. the row is up there too. your squats and deads should be higher comparatively, but they aren't bad.

i did not participate in exercise today.
