I've been doing some reading regarding stem cell treatment/therapy and the succesful treatments of patients who have critical conditions/Illnesses and I'm just wondering what your opinion is about this. Has any of you considered this type of treatment?

Stem cells can be used for a lot of things, but I'm guessing it's not cheap to consult with anyone who knows how to grow what you need in a petri dish

True, I had been looking up for ways to see if there is a chance that my symptom can be treated but it seems I have anxiety as per the diagnosis of the doctor yesterday. I found this article regarding stem cells as a possible treatment for depression. So maybe anxiety can be treated with stem cells as well?

I called Stem Cell America a few days ago regarding the possible treatment, although at that time, I haven't been diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder. The cost is 30,000 dollars yikes!

It seems like a bit of a stretch. The article does say that antidepressants were responsible so even with the implantation of incubated stem cells (brain surgery for depression!?) it really depends on whether or not the body decides to nurture their growth to maintain regeneration. There are cheaper ways to deal with anxiety. I've found supplementation with 5-HTP & B-12 to help significantly, so does having a cup of chamomille whenever. I've been struggling with trying to meditate for years, it's always been a failure because my mind is always full of shit but even slow progress has proven helpful in dealing with anxiety, especially the breathing component when I'm trying to relax amidst a lot of chaos or noise. IMHO you can motivate your body and mind to change radically if you desire the change stongly enough.

Yep I have tried 5HTP and rhodiola but it made my anxiety a lot worse. I was fine a few months back but I guess the constant worrying and thinking has made the anxiety worse. I think I should be able to cope with it and just try to not think about it all the time. It is just hard to do whenever you feel the symptom but I think it is a good way to start.

implanting stem cells in the brain because sufferers of depression have difficulty producing their own does not sound like much of a cure to me. sounds like treating a symptom, not a cause.

are you talking to a psych specialist or a counsellor? ime, cures for these kinds of things can only come from within.

Not at the moment, but I do have plans on scheduling cbt sessions. I am going on vacation on Sat so I will get these sessions scheduled when I come back.

I had been looking at this website for stem cell treatments:

http://stemcellofamerica.com/

I thought that this imbalance in my brain might be cured of this because of the amazing results these patients had. There were patients who had brain damage, strokes etc and the stem cells cured them.

I know I was diagnosed with anxiety, but this weird symptom is still unexplainable IMO which is why i am still trying to look for a permanent cure. I think that the unknown chemical substance that was supposed to be mdma that i took months ago had something to do with this.

I dont have any illnesses or ailments that would require stem cell treatment, but I believe it can be very beneficial to many diseases.

Recently, I watched a video on neurogenesis and stem cell treatment in relation to that (trying to create new brain cells outside the body) and it seemed very appealing for many neurological disorders, which many lack promising treatment in this day and age, unfortunately. (like Alzheimers)

also that wordpress link for me doesnt work!

Stem cell treatments, research and technology are no longer relegated to sci-fi novels or movies. Research and development of stem cells also goes way beyond the use of embryonic stem cell based therapy, potential of cloning human beings and the moral and ethical controversies surrounding such developments. Today, stem cell research offers potential treatments for the future that may cure many disease processes, enable people with spinal cord injuries to walk again, and perhaps even see an end to cognitive impairment diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease.

I wish they could use my stem cells to make a bone graft for my upcoming surgery instead of harvesting my own bone again... would have saved me from ever needing a 2nd or 3rd surgery because the graft they took wasn't wide enough and couldnt support my weight and collapsed. With this they could make it as big as they want.. and no having to harvest from your ilium or anywhere.
Also stem cells to fix the nerve damage from my stretched sciatic from surgery would be cool. Even if the technology exists, its not in practice yet, and if it was, very VERY few would be doing it. Maybe in 40 years.
