So this dickhead is going to clown around when this country is headed like a speeding bullet into a banana republic style economy inhabited by the fakest weirdos that Mtv can cook up. He really convinced me what a fucking moron he is with this piece of self-degrading bullshit. This dumb cumwad needs to get serious about fixing the economy and many other issues. He can go to fucking hell.

The director of the agency ive been interning for called me into her office today to see if I would be interested in a full time position after I graduate on the 17th. Nothing is official yet, and the hiring has to be approved by the CEO (who I have a great relationship with) but its looking really good. It starts at 40k a year with great benefits and room for advancement. I will basically be collecting and analyzing data from our database, managing the new interns, and working with political officials as an advocate for the organization. I will have my own office and relative freedom in how I go about my daily activities. Im so excited!

Nice job! It will be interesting to see how your ideas on things around you change as you enter the real world.

Cool Care, good luck. Don't let the corruption and vapid nature of inner-office politics get ya down! I will also be jumping up a few steps into the giant ego-inflating circle-jerk known as academia after this summer, and work as a t.a. I tend to bounce between hating everyone, and being apathetic, so I'm sure I'll fit right in with all the miserable pricks! :D

LOL, proof imo

I find myself relatively open to new ideas, and on the local level (which basically deals with the funding of this or that project) I am relatively apolitical. On the issues at the state level (particularly governor browns funding of education) i find myself being very much conservative. But on the whole at the state and federal level i remain mostly liberal. If you believe that my worldview will somehow morph into the traditional conservatism that you seem to advocate for, then you're mistaken, no offense.

I havent posted much here recently because I have been really busy but it seems like that will cease pretty soon, and I hope that I will be able to effectively express what ive learned. The real world of politics is proving to be pretty interesting.

Here's a counter-revolutionary for ya...
P.S. for all my differences with droppers...he at least has some dignity.

^He could at least apologize for selling out so hard and getting his hopes up like that for a corporate job where he overseas unpaid or poorly paid interns, but then again...he never claimed to be a revolutionary or anything.

Call it selling out if you want but its an interesting and important job that I enjoy doing which will finally afford me a middle class lifestyle. Im sick of working for a shitty wage and spending 8 hours a day being some stupid supervisors bitch.

And all of the new interns are very excited about the opportunity despite the bad pay. They have an opportunity to get real world work experience in their field, earn scholarships, get letters of recommendation and maybe even get hired.

^ Don't listen to MFR, he's just bitter that his own job prospects aren't as sweet. New opportunities are exciting and you should make the most of it. If the day comes you decide that you hate the job, that's cool - bail and move on to something new. "Selling out" is only a problem if you find yourself slogging through a job you hate for people you despise. Until that time comes, carpe the diem brother. Good luck.

No, we will not all be winners in this new economy. Luckily for myself, I have options that will afford a somewhat decent lifestyle, but most will not even be that lucky. I would feel better if the future janitors and lifetime fast food worker's lives could be improved.

^I'm not so sure fast food jobs will be there in the distant (or not so distant?) future as vending machines can pretty much do the work. Janitors will be safe for awhile, but I think the 21st century will be the century of mass automation of menial work. The question of how well menial laborers are paid in the future will be less important than the question of who owns these new highly productive technologies.

with full automation, we need to come up with something to do with unskilled labourers. i think they could be a cheap source of fuel, so i've been developing a car engine around this idea. the most efficiency my engine so far reaches is 5kms/adult and 3kms/child or midget.

through experimentation, i have found that the latter tends to eventually lead to the former, so instead i cut out the middleman.
