Health Risk of Abstinence?

I'm doing my best to limit it to once or twice a week. almost two weeks in now :D and only fapped once.
edit: reason for fap was due to blueballs. was in pain due to a grind session with a lady ;)

I personally am not masterbating half as much anymore. I feel like I can concentrate on one thing at a time better and don't get distracted as easily.

But that's just my finding. :)

ejaculation happening too frequently can really deplete you. ... Even if you don't take it to that extreme, abstaining increases your general ability to feel bliss in life and your sensitivity to pleasure increases. Not just sexual pleasure either, but anything sensual: tastes, smells, sounds, etc.
This has been my experience.
Eventually, if you work through the frustration and don't ejaculate for 6 months or so, you can learn to have retrograde orgasms where your body retains your essence yet you still have the powerful orgasmic experience.
Well, it's been 8 months, so this is great news for me. Actually, there have been a couple of instances, while lying still, where my whole body starts buzzing with a full-body orgasm. One time it was so strong I got scared and turned it off.

The key though is not abstaining from sex.
Wait, really? Why is that? I haven't been sexually active at all, mainly out of fear of going over the edge (which is REALLY easy now) and blowing my load. I'm totally untrained in the art of semen retention, so I don't trust myself sexually yet.

For me, the opposite is true. The longer I abstain, the healthier my mind and emotions are.

because nothing says 'valid opinion' more than someone practicing radical sexual abstinence when speaking on their own mental health..
/jk kinda, to each their own. IMO, you cannot be months from having ejaculated, and be psychologically 'healthy' (whatever the fuck that even means)
//your body will raise endogeneous testosterone the first few-several weeks you do this, at which point it'll plateau (and many experience forced-ejac in their sleep). this change in test is incredibly small, on the order of a couple/few nanograms/ml blood.

I used to limit myself to like twice a week. felt more aggressive and masculine. sadly I developed porn induced ed from my porn addiction so now I gotta cut back again big time. heres to day 2 no porn... didn't even know porn could do this to an individual...

porn-induced ed...that's..a thing? that freaks me out.. [gg wiki]

Have anything reasonable to back that up? That is what this thread is all about. You basically just responded to my OP, saying, "yes, it's very dangerous," without going into any detail about how or why.

So if you have anything to back up your opinion, please share.

i think that withholding ejaculation is boring and prude and that any 'enlightenment' you may find is more than outweighed by all the times you coulda fapped but didn't. if you like ejaculating then you should do it, i cannot fathom what you plan to gain from months of abstinence (or 'years'..shudder..)

you asked me to back up my opinion and i did.
/perhaps fapping will help you to chillax, broskie.

Queens University in Belfast tracked the mortality of about 1,000 middle-aged men over the course of a decade. The study, published in 1997 in the British Medical Journal found that "men who reported the highest frequency of orgasm enjoyed a death rate half that of the laggards". The report also cited other studies to show that having sex even a few times a week may be associated with the following: improved sense of smell; reduced risk of heart disease; weight loss and overall fitness; reduced depression; the relief or lessening of pain; less frequent colds and flu; better bladder control; and better teeth. The report cited a study published by the British Journal of Urology International which indicated that men in their 20s can reduce by a third their chance of getting prostate cancer by ejaculating more than five times a week.[3]
[edit]Possible psychological effects
There have been numerous studies indicating that excessive repression of the sexual instinct leads to an increase in the overall level of aggression in a given society. Societies forbidding premarital sex are plagued by acts of rage and tend to have higher rates of crime and violence.[4] There may be a link between sexual repression and aggression, insensitivity, criminal behaviour, and a greater likelihood of killing and torturing enemies.[4]
wiki loves you.

Well, I'm going to have to go with personal experience here and stick to my guns. Obviously what works for me doesn't work for most people. I'm a weird one, that's for sure. I guess what applies to me more is the Daoist view of sexual energy.

No one is telling you not to ejaculate or to feel guilty for doing it. It's your life and your choice. If it makes you happy then by all means do it.

I just take issue with people who think that regular ejaculation should be the proscribed norm when a lot of guys aren't that way. If I ejaculate more than a few times a week I feel weakened. That's just me. If you have different results then great.

There's no one size fits all solution. Every person is different. Respect that.

Well, that's fine. If you don't want to do it then don't. I'm just letting you know that that energy you have experienced which you are referring to as a body orgasm, that's just a preview of the energy you could unleash if you have a disciplined sexual practice where the energy is being actively moved and channelled.

Very cool that you know what I'm talking about though :) That's fairly rare in today's world. Your essence has already been built up to the point that you could be using it for spiritual work.

As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with not having sex.

if anything, you're putting yourself at less of a risk for std's and unhealthy relationships

there are a variety of psychological issues that are associated with a lack of sex :(

^ Care to be more specific? "Associated with" isn't enough for me, as correlation does not equal causation. For example, saying things like a lowered sex drive is associated with depression doesn't really apply to my situation here. I'm making a choice.

exactly. i'm unsure where i said "this holds true for every person, in the manner that a shotgun to the face = death". it's just a very, VERY strong correlation and of course there are outliers.

, as correlation does not equal correlation.
yeah, it does.
;P

Haha, whoops. You know what I mean.

And I'm still not gonna take anything you guys are saying seriously until you come up with some specific examples/proof. Right now it just sounds like you're saying things that sound about right.

another health risk I run with abstinence is a possible ass kicking from angry boyfriends/fiances/husbands when I hit on their girl XD wouldn't be the first or the last time.

You'll be waiting a long time then.. it's all assumptions based on nothing more than hearsay/emotion. The medical profession has an interest in promoting the continual dissipation of energy in men; they are just an arm of the establishment, and a placcid docile population is easier to manage than one where people practice sexual restraint. More restained sexual energy = more mental energy (that can become physical energy too).

People are keen to repeat the mantra of "just do it" because they're people who could never go more than a week without busting a nut. They're just afraid of what others are doing because it might give them an upper hand. Same thing with people taking psychedelics.

Anyone who doubts it.. go a month without busting and see how you feel.

yeah, i'll do that next month.. this month i'm going w/o laughter, to test a similar theory from a different crazy-camp (jk / don't infract me bro)

is there any data on this "more restrained sexual energy = more mental energy (that can become physical too)"? because it sounds, and re your personal anecdotes, as i already said "because nothing says 'valid opinion' more than someone practicing radical sexual abstinence when speaking on their own mental health.."

'mental energy' is broad-as-fuck, so if you're unable to qualify or quantify any further than taht, i'll toss you a bone and agree that there's surely increased "get laid now" activity going on in your brain (as it should be).
