CE&P social thread: why do the people I disagree with hate freedom so much?

It's hypocritical to argue against taxes generally and accept them as a salary at the same time. Especially after choosing a public sector job over a private sector job, where he could have just as easily made a living without relying on the taxpayer for his income. Especially while income taxes haven't been lower in decades, especially while advocating less government expenditure during a fiscal crisis. It stems from a comment about entering the real world and being screwed by taxes, therefore changing political orientation, coming from someone earning a living collecting the very same tax dollars.
lol you're just mad b/c he work 4 days a week in a great government job that lets him be 100% independent except when swim has to go to the capitol. He joined the government to improve efficiency that is how devoted a libertarian swim is.

I work the blue collar area of government work as I interact with people daily and often see the Appalachian distaste for regulation which is very uncomfortable at times. I like my job and do it very efficiently as I pride myself in my work. I am one of the few that practices what he preaches. Ken when you enter the real word try getting a government job it isnt easy

As ive mentioned before when we had this same conversation, I worked at an office for the Commerce Bureau for over a year. Your senile memory strikes again.

Your denial of the hypocracy of your position is expected at this point. We have had this exact conversation previously ITT, im not interested in rehashing the whole thing over again.

working a temp job for the parks dept doesnt count imo

I was an admin supervisor for the local census office.

Oh, the same census that is specifically called for by the US constitution? Seems like even the most ardent constitutional conservative couldn't object to that - you're filling a role mandated by the constitution.

Now enforcing government regulations on commerce under the stretched and overreaching commerce clause could be objectionable if you're a conservative...

Hey Droppers, are you working with federal regulations?

you know you could probably save a tax penny or two by ordering your envelopes from china pre-licked.

/pro-tip

What do you do exactly?

I am hesitant to say just b/c of where I am posting not that I dont trust or respect the regular posters here they are all knowledgeable respectful people. Also this site is top notch but it is a drug site granted I dont use and I only post in CE&P. I will say I inspect many things and that my job is difficult b/c people arnt always pleased to see you. Having a state issued truck rulz.

Whatever.

You really seem to have a high opinion of yourself despite the contradictions between your ideology and your life. And you're really fast to criticize others when you're not even willing to put yourself out there.

And by the way, no, I didnt have any political connections to get that job. It was based on merit, and I aced both the written aptitude tests to get the job because im intelligent, not because i "know somebody". And you know what, I did my job incredibly well and got multiple promotions before the office closed in late 2010.

Please explain to me how its somehow more noble to "know somebody" to get a job than it is to rise to the top through an objective measurement of ability. The whole political cronyism that you hate is how you got your job? What a hypocrite.

Your job was a meaningless political ploy to get obamas unemployment number down. To get any decent high level job you have to know someone it is almost fact in the real world though it just got the opportunity to interview. LOL@ taking a test before your job sorry I got interviewed by the state commissioner of my dept. I only went private as a service to my country to increase efficiency-fact BTW not trying to rustle yalls jimmies. It is what it is

So if something is almost fact, that means it is not true, considering that facts are absolute.

I had an interview too, it was a prerequisite to take the test. Once again you dodge my question about why you think its somehow better to get a job through a political connection over merit by citing an unfortunate reality of the system rather than an actual argument.

And yea, the fact that a decennial census is written into the constitution is an obvious ploy by the obama administration to get his unemployment numbers down, jobs that are only temporary and will be lost a full 2 years before his reelection. You really got a point with that one. 8)

My job >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>your ken doll census job. I am a merit employee. Everything in this world is about connections you will realize this when you graduate from college imo

When did I say that it wasnt, I simply mentioned that I worked for the federal government in response to one of your posts earlier.

Anyways, I guess ill have to take your word for it since youre unwilling to tell us what it is. I bet you feel really special, having a better job than a college student. The only reason we're even having this conversation is because I have the balls to talk about myself openly, and you attack me for it.

And once again id like to point out that you are stating the unfortunate reality of the situation instead of actually answering my question of...

Please explain to me how its somehow more noble to "know somebody" to get a job than it is to rise to the top through an objective measurement of ability.

But you can keep running around with your circular logic convinced that youve got it all figured out and the rest of us are just brainwashed sheep, when in fact the opposite is true.

i've brought my ruler, now how do we actually measure a job's penis length?
